the city of Rum Port, a sight unlike anything you have seen in this world before, thousands of skeletons living life like they used to, the city illuminated permanetly by thousands of small soft glowing globes, the city is speparated from the outside by a huge wall that surrounds the city, there are two gates, one for the movement of the large merchant convoys in and out of the city and one smaller one for everyday use. you have arrived at the city gates, at the moment they are closed, the only person arround is a skeleton with a very big axe who is also trying to get in.
Filleox Amaretle |
Filleox holds up his empty hands. "Peace! We're all in the same boat, you know. We're looking for a couple of people, and I wonder if you've seen, or heard of, either of them. One is named Gerov, who wears red robes and carries a golden staff with a gem on top. The other is Themon, a wizard who binds demons and devils, and who owns various towers around these parts..."
Filleox drifts off in confusion, and turns to Philip. "Hey, did we ever get a physical description of Themon? I don't recall."
Filleox Amaretle |
"Well, uhh no, but we all look like bones, so its kinda hard to tell us apart anyway..."
"Well... most of us are skeletons, but there are some zombies too. Those are easier to tell apart. I wonder which Themon is?
"Anyway, should we just go up and knock on the gates?"
J.C Bells |
"Anyway, should we just go up and knock on the gates?"
"I don't think anyone is home."
The skeleton slings his axe over his shoulder and starts to climb the wall...1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
... but can't find any decent handholds.
"Well I guess we should knock"
Philip Welstin |
Philip enter the city of Rum Port, and stares around fascinated at allthe sights and sounds of this strange place. Other skeletons and zombies shuffle around engaged in their daily routines.
Wow, there is so much to see and do here!
He turns to his companions, and asks, "What should we do first?"
J.C Bells |
"Well if your looking for someone and all you know is he owns towers in the area then I think we need a map of the area. That would mean paying a visit to which ever temple has the biggest library in town and seeing if we can buy a map.... although i don't have any money.
Filleox Amaretle |
Can we see any towers? If not, I want to ask the four skeletons who let us in if they know of anyone named Gerov or Themon, or anyone meeting their descriptions (the same descriptions I just provided to J.C Bells just now.) Depending upon their answers, I would also ask them about any towers in Rum Port.

there is only 1 tower, the lighthouse, which is outside the city limits on an island of its own. the guards haven't heard of either but they say they saw someone that looked like Gerov walking on the water near the lighthouse, about 3 weeks ago.
Filleox Amaretle |
"Then this lighthouse probably has nothing to do with our quest. Still, it's the only lead to Gerov we've ever found. Let's go."
By the way, is there any "in-game" reason why J.C Bells is joining us? We haven't even explained our quest to him yet. Obviously, Filleox would be glad to have him aboard, as there's strength in numbers. But it would be nice if we could think of some "hook" for him.
Ashwara, Bin-Asheel |
Ash stalks through the streets of RumPort. She'd long ago become ennured to the 'looks', the 'glances', the following sibilant whispers.
It had been the same ever since she and her comptiorts had escaped thier confinment. Instead of re-emerging into a world they all half remembered and had been reading and telling stories about, they had emerged into...this.
She sighed as she turned a corner to find a small huddle of 'people', she was still trying to think of a word to describe...'people'...and not having any luck at all.
"Then this lighthouse probably has nothing to do with our quest. Still, it's the only lead to Gerov we've ever found. Let's go."
She paused, something about what the person before her said jogged a memory...something about a name...
Ashwara, Bin-Asheel |
Ash watches these 'people' watch her.
"Ummm, can we help you?"
His voice jogging her out of whatever it was she'd been trying to think of.
"Hmmm?" She replies absently, placing both her fistsupon her armored hips, whch also puts them within reach of the scimitars that are sheathed there, "Oh, something that one of you said...it reminded me of...something..."
Knowledge Check:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
"AH! That name! I've heard it before...well, read it more is correct." She suddenly replies.
Space for DM imposition *Here*
Ashwara, Bin-Asheel |
Ash continues to look at this group,
Perception:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
"So, you're new in town?" She asks them, noting the groups stance and huddle near the closing gates nearby. Her fists still resting upon her hips.
Ash is wearing studded leather armor, a pair of sword hilts upon her waist, while a a second pair of weapon hilts poke over her shoulders.
Philip Welstin |
Philip wonders if she Is that a woman? was joking. Seeing as they were all standing by the front of the main gate, maybe she was trying to be funny. Cute. "Yeah, we are looking for someone, actually two people. Do you know this area, or are you also new to town as well?" He pauses after that and belatedly remembers his manners. "So, gotta name?"
Ashwara, Bin-Asheel |

Ash looks to the speaker, so far, of the bunch.
"Yes, the names' Ash." She casually saunters closer. "I'm also newish to Rum Port, having arrived with other associates a while ago, so I have a vague idea of where things are. As for that name? Yes, I do remember reading it...I just can't remember any of the details." Ash sighs, "At the time I was more interested in studying the military type tactics and history books that were lying around in the library vault..." Ash shrugs.
"Sorry to have so little information, but it's a start, right?" She offers a hand towards whom eve wants to take it.
Philip Welstin |
Philip hesistes for a moment, trying to make sense of the intentions of the newcomer. He looks over to Filleox, and sees similar confusion on his face. Then Ash mentioned a library...
Philip reaches forward and takes her hand, So warm to the touch! Is she alive...no its not possible...is it? and replies, "Well it certainly is a pleasure, and I would like to learn more about this library..." Filleox makes a clearing vioce in his throat,"...maybe after we find Gerov."

Ash shakes hands but at this persons comments about 'The Library' Ash groans.
"Oh! Curses sakes no! Do you know how long we had to wait for the curse to be lifted? Then, there were all the traps to disarm...though disarming them from the 'inside' made that task easier...besides, I'm not sure if Shen-shen hasn't put them all back in working order...Crazy minx didn't want to leave the pyramid," At this last comment Ash truly sighs and shakes her head, her face showing a whole range of emotions from disbelief to disgust. "Still, Gerov...yes, that's a name I do remember reading in the Vault Library. Indeed, lets find...um...him?" Ash looks to the others hopefully.
Philip Welstin |
Philip glance at Filleox, who only shrugs."Well, I suppose, since you have been friendly to us, then yeah you can join us." He shakes her hand again, "My name is Philip, and this is Filleox, JC, Nalaliel, and Wilhelm."
in order to find Gerov, we have been tracking a wizard calling himself Themon, he entered Rum Port a few weks ago, we think. He owns the lighthouse, we think, so that is our destination. You are the giude so lead the way, please."

Ash nods as each othe member is introduced, then at Philips' words of 'guide' she shifts to attention, gives a small bow and says,
"Right, follow me." Before turning and walking off towards...
DM caveat in allowing Ash to lead the group to the harbor and said light house?
