not quite, you wouldn't have managed to retore Eox completely, but eventually you would have found a city of living people, made by the two wizards you where looking for, who built it to prevent all life in Eox die, then you would have been given a choice to either guard the city or to travel to Golarion to collect more specimens to eventually re-populate Eox in a small way

Now that sound like a FANTASTIC idea for a campaign!
