I was reading my PDF for PF 25 and it referenced the Bestiary to find the stats for many of the monsters. Since the Bestiary has now been pushed back again to October, how can we play if we want to start Council of Thieves before it comes out?

SRD or MM monsters work just fine with Pathfinder, seriously. All of the stuff on the wandering monster table is accessible through that source or through material in the adventure itself (though I'd pick up the Bonus Bestiary if you want an allip), so you should be covered. It's not pretty, but it really does do the job.

For the most part, you can just drop in 3.5 OGL monsters. Is there anything where the 3.5 counterpart is non-obvious?

We anticipated this. We're prepping a "here are the PFRPG monsters you'd need for Bastards and/or Crypt of the Everflame" free PDF. It should be ready by the first day of Gen Con.

If you are going to run either of those before Gen Con, just use the SRD versions of the monsters. :)

Also, we're planning on releasing a preview of the monster pages that are relevant to the adventure; thus, the page for the goblin and the dog and so on, monsters that show up in that adventure will be available in a few days. We're still working out the details there.

Until then, though... the 3.5 incarnations of the monsters should work fine.

EDIT: Damn. What Sean said.

Goblins and dogs are two different monsters. Neither is a goblin dog.

Can we, in light of this, please shed no light on the origin of goblin dogs?

I'm strangely intrigued though. :P

I think it's cool you guys have the Bestiary notation already in place. I just hope that the page numbers don't end up changing. :)

The way we set up the bestiary, the page numbers have been locked in for months. Never fear.

Bah, those numbers don't matter, no one EVER checks those.

Don't think we haven't spotted that page reference errors. We just chose to be silent about it.... until the right moment...

Any word on when this will be available? (or am I missing it somewhere)

I'm getting ready to start up this adventure next week, and would love to have the official stats and avoid the SRD versions as much as possible.

Thanks!

The Bestiary mentioned is available here.

The Council of Thieves Players Guide PDF is here.

Hope that helps.

Cool! I somehow missed the preview Bestiary, or mixed it up with the bonus one. I had the players guide though. There sure was a lot of new stuff to download last week :) Off to download the bestiary now.

Thanks!
