Right now we're in the second Chapter of the Shackled City adventure path. We're doing alright with the goblin caves.

We've got a Fighter, 2 Bards, a Druid and a Ranger and it's all working out pretty well so far. An odd party, but it's working which is nice.

We're using the beta rules for Pathfinder, but we're going to upgrade to the full rules when we get them.

In our Curse of the Crimson Throne (BETA), we have (all 12th level):

Torgul Frostbreath, an Ulfen human Fighter/Rogue wehi has become famous for missing every save he's got. Lightly armoured and very fond of using his two-handed sword. The only original member of the party left.

Sir Varren, human Paladin of Saerenrae. Glad head to toe in full plate, with s steel sheidl and scimitar. High diplomacy and Blade of Mercy meant we captured most of our enemies alive in Korvosa (with a couple of mostly undead exceptions) but out in the Cinderlands, he's adaprting to being a bit more lethal.

Dualeth, elven Ranger/Evoker/Mystic Theurge. Wields his arcane bonded staff in preference to other weapons. Very fond of using it's ability to send out scorching rays.

Timonrain Veirs: human wizard and Pathfinder. Pragmatic, but rather paranoid. He's getting better but is still fond of shooting first and asking questions when he thinks about it. Not a fan of beign anywhere close to the enemy, he uses his Hand of the Apprentice to wield a katana.

Khillisandra: female elven cleric of Iomedae. Newest recruit. Prefers to use a holy spear rather than a longsword. Very good at curing, and excessively proud of her impressive difficulty in being hit.

Ex party members:
Ehladria: human female aberrant sorcerer. Massive charisma nad Harrowed. Sadly died from a scorching ray attack by the derro under the graveyard.

Mahlak: Evlen rogue. Departed because play left the group. Very fond of sneaking ahead and then hiding until someone else got noticed.

Kanaris: Hawk Clan Shoanti barbarian/air domain druid. Not a big fan of talking. Preferred to either hit things with his earthbreaker or lightning arc. Departed because player left the group.

Cortonne the Bronze Fist, Voice of Brigh: Half-Orc cleric of Brigh. Rather obsessed with how he could use technology to improve himself, and others, Cortonne was angling for the Renegade Mastermaker but left when his player decided he was creeping everybody else out too much. He currently works for the Korvosan Guard.

I like the interesting take on Dualeth how is that working out for the player. I have toyed with the idea of Ranger/wizard but usually Prestige classing as an eldritch knight

He's literally only just taken the Mystic Theurge level so no idea yet. He took practiced spellcaster and the trait that gives you the same sort of benefit (caster level increase with other classes), so his Wizard spells are only just behind a straight wizard. According to him, until the second level spell swap kicks in, he's not going to be getting all that much from it.

In the middle of Fort Rannick from Hook Mountain Massacre.

6 players + DM NPC (no one wanted a cleric and they asked me). All are currently level 7. Pathfinder BETA rules.

Tillman Jaeger - human Cleric of Desna, and at next level will take the Spherewalker prestige class.

Samson - halfling Bard (brother to Mac)

Mac - halfing Rogue (brother to Samson). They are "entertainers" (lol)

Edge - Dwarven fighter who fights with two Dwarven waraxes. Player is about to miss at least two months of sessions, as his wife gave birth to twin boys and he has a 2 year old daughter...

Sharp - human ranger, bow specialist, but he does really well with his greatsword also.

Conradxxxxxxx Tang - half-orc monk and designated hit point soak because none of the mobs can hit him!

Morpheus - human wizard (universalist).

Papa.DRB

At the moment, though we have had some casualties and rerolls, this is our party:

2 Universalist elf wizards.
1 Dwarven ranger
1 half-orc monk
1 human fighter
1 human barbarian
1 halfling rogue
1 human priest of Sarenrae, but she's an NPC

We're running 8th level characters in the Scarred Lands (White Wolf), and we've got a Sorceress, a Druid/Nature's Warrior, Monk, Barbarian, and an NPC Cleric of Madriel (Healing/Sun goddess). It's been awesome so far.

Last campaign was a Wizard, Monk, Rogue/Bard, and Favored Soul.

We have the following party for our Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign (all gestalt, since there are only 3 of us):

Wren, a Varisian Battledancer // Bard. Wren appears at first blush to be a fairly typical "gypsy" fortuneteller, complete with Harrow deck and a crystal ball, although his past is dramatically more in-depth and complicated than any of the other party members or associations are aware of. Wren will be dipping briefly into Lyric Thaumaturge on the way to all 10 levels of Harrower and finally a level or two of Seeker of the Song if the game (and the character) lasts that long.

Mwarte Mworte, a kobold Dragon Shaman // Sorcerer. He's kinda the comic relief of the party, as well as the artillery. He calls himself a pyrite (fool's gold) dragon -- his draconic heritage is gold, but his Dragon Shaman powers are those of a copper dragon. He likes to stick his magic missile wands inside fish to sneak them into places he really shouldn't have weapons. As far as I know, he plans to remain pure class throughout.

Stephen, a human Shaman (Oriental Adventures, not Spirit Shaman) // assorted mix of melee classes. He's a big lug who is fixated on becoming a paladin, even though he's really not cut out for the job. He's crafting his own weapons and armor in the downtime of the campaign. His player likes to multiclass and prestige class pretty liberally, so I'm sure there'll be plenty of knightly PrCs along the way.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

The party I adventure in has 3 semi-regulars and a bunch of guest stars. The main thrust of the campaign is to be +1 ECL races and test the Pathfinder Beta rules.

1. Chaos Gnome Brass Dragon Shaman (my wannabe private detective)
2. Catfolk Ranger/Swashbuckler (archer)
3. Feral Kobold Battle Sorcerer with draconic bloodline (tank)

4. Whisper Gnome Ninja (my 2ndary PC)
5. Aasimar Paladin
6. homebrew raven-folk Warlock
7. Tiefling Wizard-Rogue

I also made a goliath barbarian, but he's totally broken for this campaign....his basic attack does more than any sneak attack or breath weapon or spell or crit from any other PC.

I also DM for a 15th-17th level swashbuckling campaign in 3.5 with action points.

1. Halfling rogue/swashbuckler/invisible blade/master thrower/whisperknife.
2. aquatic elf druid
3. half-elf beguiler
4. human duskblade/swashbuckler/fortune's friend (twin to the bard)
5. half-drow bard/swashbuckler (twin the duskblade)
6. goliath monk
7. raptoran evoker
8. human ranger/scout archer

9. DMPC aasimar healer (treasure: girl they found in a chest)

Liberty's Edge

My Curse of the Crimson Throne game is on hiatus for the summer, so I'm currently running a Ravenloft game using the Pathfinder rules (with a couple of additions). Is that okay? XD

The game is set at a prestigious academy for the children of the wealthy and elite (along with a few scholarship kids). My party is:

*Claudia Trotsky, shifter fighter: Claudia had no idea that she was anything other than human until puberty hit and she "shifted" for the first time. Then her adoptive parents revealed to her that her father was a monster disguised as a man--a werebat, who has passed his taint onto her. Bluff, brash and outgoing, Claudia hides her fear that she might someday become a monster under frequent changes of boyfriends. She's the most talented underclassman fencer in the school, and she just found out that her family has arranged a marriage for her. She's also started to develop a terrible itch along her shoulder blades...

*Cyrus Reade, human archivist: Cyrus is the son of servants to one of the most important noble families on the continent, sent to school on a trust fund so that he can someday return home and take on a position as head librarian and accountant for the household. His birth status would make him an outcast among the lineage-obsessed students of the school, so he has constructed an elaborate lie about being the acknowledged bastard son of one of the noble family's members. Every time his past comes to visit him, though the lie becomes harder to maintain. Cyrus is a skilled spellcaster, and an expert in monster lore. He hopes to one day become a detective.

*Frederic Ryle, human fighter/wizard: Frederic (or Deric, as he prefers to be called) didn't have a normal childhood. He was raised in the shattered ruins of a nation at war with itself, cared for by a man who was already dead. Deric knew that his father was... different, but he found out exactly how different when he was quite young and discovered that his father was a ghost. This ghost had found the infant Deric abandoned and had taken it upon himself to raise the child. As a teenager, Deric can see ghosts the same way that other people can see the living, and his interest in the spirit world has become an interest in sorcery as well. Deric is fascinated by the workings of the human mind and hopes to become an alienist (psychologist) after he graduates.

*Charlotte Adele Erzbet Baudilare, human undead-bloodline sorcerer: Charlotte was raised in luxury and comfort, the daughter of a wealthy merchant who gave her anything she desired. Without any warning, she was transferred to a new school in another part of the country, where she met with the other PCs. Since her arrival, things have changed. She has found within herself a cold, terrible place, a desire to see the fear in people's eyes and to taste their blood--and it terrifies her. On the surface, Charlotte is still a sweet, innocent girl, but within she is a maelstrom of worry and doubt. Rumors that she might actually be adopted have only added to this worry, as is the fear that her real father was a vampire.

*Colin O'Brian, human spellthief: Quick-witted and glib-tongued, Colin's cleverness comes from a childhood spent in the courts of the fey folk. Raised like a prince, Colin was recently sent away to finish his education among humans at the request of his half-human father. Colin believes that his father wants to give him a choice between becoming fully human or fully fey, as he himself was given years ago--when he bothers to think about such things at all. For now, Colin is far too interested in drinking, partying, and skipping class. The perpetual good-natured slacker, Colin brings a lightness to the group that they sometimes lack.

So, what does everyone think? :)

Shackled City Campaign (Beta)

Party is 6th lvl:
Halfling Cleric of Desna
Human Rogue (a minor noble)
Half-Orc Monk
Human Paladin of Iomedae
Human Sorcerer, Dragonblooded

We have a great group and having a blast. Monk has been surprisingly awesome jumping around a lot and flurrying when flanking with the rogue. Our paladin went on hiatus for a bit so the sorcerer started laying fireballs and snowball swarms on top of the monk/sorc since they proved adept at not getting hit...at least until recently where he nearly killed them. At that point we agreed no more of that unless dire circumstances present themselves.

I am playing the cleric myself and it has been quite fun. Healing the whole party via channel energy has been a godsend (pun intended).

Wow.

Just wow.

Our current group uses PFPRG beta rules, and our DM decided he wanted a more high-powered game so we're playing gestalt characters. I think he may now be rethinking that decision, but we'll see. We're currently level 9.

Torg - half-orc barbarian 9/fighter 9. A mountain of hit points and greataxe nastiness. Don't get near him if you value your life.

Brock - Azlanti paladin 9/sorceror 9. Technically the leader of our group, but we tend to decide by committee so it's all good. He's a sword and board pally, supplemented by his magical abilities. His saves are horribly high.

Taz - female half-elf cleric 9/rogue 9. My real wife and my character's wife in game. They make an odd couple, but we try not to overdo it too much. The rogue is kind of an afterthought, and hasn't helped out much in game play. She's primarily the party's healer.

Ryjel - halfling rogue 9/fighter 9. My character. The fighter levels really help him get high attack rolls so he hits quite frequently, although his damage is lacking unless he manages to position himself for sneak attacks.

Luccio - female human wizard 9/sorceror 9. I think she's human, but I could be wrong. She has a ton of spells, and it can be a little tricky for her to remember what are wizard spells and what are sorceror spells (and what feats can be applied to which).

Under the beta rules, we have a ton of healing between Brock and Taz. Add to that our potential to deal out solid damage (never underestimate the ability of players to roll horribly, though), and it takes a real challenge to make us sweat. Not sure how far we'll go with these, but we'll see.

The Magnificent 7 (+2 Back Ups)

Sir Steelheart - Warforged Knight 7
Tagline: "Prepare to face a true weapon of honour!"
Schtick: Highest AC and Highest HP of anyone in the group, Sir Steelheart draws fire so the rest of the party can get into position.

McGirk of McGirk - Dwarf Monk 7
Tagline: "Me hands are me axe, me body's me shield."
Schtick: Awesomely maneuverable so he can get anywhere he needs and then flurry like there's no tomorrow.

Merisiel - Elf Rogue 7
Tagline: "Shhhh."
Schtick: Classic rogue, find traps and attack from cover. The player loves yelling: "I rapier the badguy from behind. Do I get sneak attack?"

Trapper "Dundee" - Shifter Ranger 7
Tagline: "You can run but you can't hide."
Schtick: A great two weapon fighter, he is something of the team leader and combat captain calling out tactics during the fight. Of course while he orders everybody to do something sensible he's busy tying himself to a dragon so that he can keep fighting it even if it tries to fly away. The player told me: "I don't care if he dies, just so long as he dies awesome."

Kif - Changeling Cleric 7
Tagline: "Have I got a gift for you!"
Schtick: Healing, buffing and debuffing with a bit of teleportation and terrain control thrown in. He's a changeling and thus very adaptable for any situation really.

Lini Brinshin - Halfling Druid 7
Tagline: "Naturally."
Schtick: Cast Air Walk on Tiger, ride flying attack Tiger into combat. Deal copious damage. Heal party when needed. Rinse, repeat. The player of this character is new to D&D but absolutely loves her character.

Selina Frost - Elf Sorcerer (Water Blood Line)
Tagline: "Would you like a cold one?"
Schtick: What any good sorcerer should be doing she shoots magic at bad guys and makes the good guys fly. The player wanted a fire bloodline but knowing what the big finale of the Shards trilogy is I didn't want to do that to her. That said, she has some fire spells too.

(The Back Ups)

Jessica Fletcher - Human Fighter 7
Tagline: "Bullseye."
Schtick: An expert markswoman, with pretty much every feat chosen to increase her damage output with a bow. Absolutely deadly. It's a shame her player never can make it to a game.

Jim Darkmagic - Human Warlock 7
Tagline: "Ladies and gentlemen, the Jim Darkmagic magic."
Schtick: I couldn't resist, he just sounded like too much fun not to stat up for Pathfinder, the player of this character absolutely plays the character to the hilt making for some great moments.

Timon would like me to retract my previous assertion that he shoots first and asks questions later. While it is true that he enjoys a vigorous and decisive approach to spellcasting in combat, his poor initiative rolls mean he very rarely shoots until someone else has already started things, by which point questions tend to be irrelevant. The fact that he is now capable of casting disintegrate and is reading this, in no way impedes the sincerity of this retraction.

Party has started a heavily-modified 3.5 Freeport campaign... the old Saltmarsh Haunted House/Smuggler Ship as a first adventure, then bits of Freeport, Savage Tide, Dungeon adventures... going for a "D&D meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Call of Cthulhu" feel.

Party just about to level-up to 2nd level:

"Angel", CN Elven Assassin ("Disguised" as a Rogue)
Urel Mosgrim, TN Dwarven Cleric (Domains Death and War)
Daniel, CG Halfling Rogue (The Good Guy)
Mason, TN Half-Elven Hexblade (Issues. Lots of Issues)
Dionysis, TN Human Duskblade (Spy planted in party)
Tiberius, CN Human Corsair (Wannabee Jack Sparrow)

As you can see by the character/alignment choices, this gang of misfits is heading for a world of trouble... but it's going to be fun to watch!

Our kids game in the FR Dales has:

Halfling cloistered cleric 5

Halfling ranger 5

Gnome Marshal2/rogue2

Dwarf dwarven fighter1/wizard4

occasionally:

Gnome bard1/sorc4

Elf ranger 5

Human fighter 5

Human fighter 5

Our adult game (if we can ever get our act together) has the following possible players in the FR Dales (Dagger Dale).

Human paladin of the Red Knight 5

Human cleric of Tyr 5 (NPC)

Half elf sorceress 5 (arcane blood line)

Moon elf rogue 5

Half orc barbarian 5

Half elf ranger4/sorceress1 (black dragon blood line)

Half elf bard 5

Human fighter1/rogue4 (swashbuckler type)

It's a testament to the improvements PRPG made to the half elf that 3 out of 6 PCs actually went with half elf. This was unheard of in all my years of playing 3.0 and 3.5!

* NG Human (reincarnated as Half-Orc) Fighter 1 / Evoker 6 / Eldricht Knight 2 - the only good party member with a celestial hawk familiar and whirling spiked chain master, well versed in handling the affairs of Vathirond, of which he just received the title of Baron after rescuing prized items for the King of Breland.

* TN Human (reincarnated as Dwarf) Druid 8 - Member of the Gatekeepers and wielding his Order's Magic Staff, seeks to avoid the return of Xoriat and is worried for his strange warforged comrade, who has some strange runes carved in his core that should be known to the Gatekeepers only. He is accompanied by a dire panther which will become horrid (due to a Gatekeepers' ritual) as soon as the druid can afford it (10th level).

* LE Warforged Artificer 8 - He is the factotum of the group and is often distrusted and treated sometimes like a slave. Now the group is within the Mournland and just met the Lord of Blades and the "fleshy" act as the warforged's servants. He is regarded as a sort of Prophet from the other warforged and the Lord of Blades himself, given that he is the first functioning warforged that went out from his creation forge, using a strange Giant Artifact from Xen'Drik (hence his strange core with stranger runes which grant him strange supernatural abilities like a protection from evil effect 4/day for 3+CON rounds). Both the Artifact and the Warforged disappeared just after his creation and was thought of destroyed. His return is truly seen as a sign from the warforged kind. The Lord of Blade's philosophy stroke through his beliefs and now the warforged shares the Lord of Blade's thoughts (hence his alignment shift from TN to LE). If the other party members didn't treat him like an object, maybe...

* NE Changeling Ranger 6 / Assassin 3 - This one made a pact with the demons, literally! He is possessed by a succubus who entered his body after he chose to accept a succubus's offer to regain sight (got struck by a blindness spell) and the fiend helps and taints him every time she can (he started as TN). Then, another pact issued, granting him the power of a killing machine in exchange of part of his natural soul (was Ranger 8 before the succubus's master, a Glabrezu, used Wish to accomplish the deal - 2 levels of Ranger for 3 levels of Assassin - he gained about 100 XP since he was nearly 9th level anyway) and the murder of a young helpless virgin in a demonic ritual. He is a truly deadly archer and very useful to the group, even if he turned evil and the group distrusts the succubus inside.

* CN Elf Cleric of Balinor 9 - Formerly CG Cleric of the Undying Court, he lost his faith and regained a new one thanks to the party druid. Master Summoner and accompanied by a host of Air creatures, he brings the forces of the Wind among his companions.

* LN Kalashtar Monk 7 / Shadowdancer 1 - Newest party member, she seeks revenge against a lich necromancer that killed her friends to collect their corpses and reanimated them as zombies. The same lich is a recurring villain that often sends devils to kill the PC's. The fights ended out with escapes from one side or the other until now, but there will be the final reckoning eventually.

Barbarian x 2
Duskblade
Warlock
Wizard

Liberty's Edge

Just wanted to update this since my party just hit 7th level and finished up the first major arc of the campaign. They've left their school (after blowing it up to save the students from a demonic cult) and are spending 3 years growing up before they get back together.

Current Party:

Claudia Trotsky, shifter (truesight) Fighter 6/Duelist 1
Now that she's accepted her non-human heritage, Claudia is traveling the world in search of others like herself. She desperately wants to find some sort of rhyme or reason in the emergence of the shifter bloodline, and possibly even unite her race as a single people. She has discovered that she is the inheritor of a castle once owned by her father, a werebat who was killed before she was born. Just before school ended, Claudia started dating Frederic, her dour but loyal friend, and though they've kept up with correspondence in the three years they've been apart, she really doesn't know where they stand. This is made more complicated by the fact that her family has arranged a marriage for her.

Cyrus Reade, human Archivist 3/Wizard 3/Mystic Theurge 1
After the school was destroyed, Cyrus decided that he wanted to travel the world and see its wonders--after finishing his apprenticeship with a local doctor named Maurice. His family doesn't approve of his endeavors, so he's doing his best to shield them from them as much as possible. He is very disturbed by a vision of the future he had while exposed to a temporal magic effect: one that said his friends would all die if they ever went to Darkon. Cyrus spent a year studying eastern mysticism in the lands of Rokushima, and now he has begun to master the philosophy that all magic--arcane and divine alike--comes from a single source.
*Cyrus' player is considering taking Leadership to bring back a Rokushiman shrine maiden as his cohort, but hasn't decided for certain yet.

Frederic Ryle, human Fighter 1/Wizard 5/Eldritch Knight 1
Always the most enigmatic of the group, Deric has found his faith in the goddess restored by the salvation of his friends and their survival against nearly impossible odds. Still, he prides himself on his rationality, and he has enjoyed a three-year apprenticeship at the Asylum for the Mentally Disturbed in Dementlieu, under the tutelage of esteemed alienist Wilhelm Mikki. With his few vacations from his grueling studies, Deric has returned to Darkon several times to visit his father and become involved in local politics. Deric has that the dead king of Darkon, Azalin, may have done something to him as a child, as he has begun to hear a dire voice giving him advice about magic--advice that is right more often than not.

Charlotte Adele Erzbet Baudilare, human Sorcerer 7 (Undead bloodline)
After suffering a period of serious doubt, Charlotte is once again among Ezra's faithful due to the miraculous resurrection of her boyfriend Galen. This year has been difficult on the delicate Charlotte, however, after discovering that she has a missing twin brother (who might be Deric) and that her father is not a Dementlieuese nobleman but a former con-man who assumed his current identity to give his daughter the life he felt she deserved. Worse still is her growing craving for blood--and the fact that she feels *stronger* when she gives in to it...
*Galen Vega, tiefling Paladin 5: Galen is Charlotte's boyfriend (and cohort via the Leadership feat), and a bastard child of the demon known as the Gentleman Caller. Galen turned against his family and the cult that raised him out of love for Charlotte and got killed for his trouble. His miraculous resurrection has given him faith that even a soul as tarnished as his can find salvation in the goddess, and he has dedicated his life to Her service, and to Charlotte's happiness. Charlotte's father doesn't like Galen very much, but he gave the boy a job and a home out of sympathy. Galen is a tiefling, but he looks like a normal human (thanks to a version of the Veiled Vileness feat)--until he bleeds...

Colin O'Brian, human Rogue 3/Sorcerer 4 (Fey bloodline)
(Note: Colin started off as a spellthief, but changed over when the final version of the rules came out.)
Still happy-go-lucky, Colin lost much of his flippant attitude when he became involved in a plot to assassinate another student at the school. His guilt over his peripheral involvement, allayed only by the fact that the target was actually a monster, has driven him to become a better person. Colin is still a party animal, but now he tempers his desires with an eye toward what is right. Having been raised by faeries, though, his conceptions of "right" and "wrong" are slightly skewed away from the norm. Colin has spent the last three years partying his way across the continent, which helps him avoid thinking about the fact that his father (a half-fey prince) has effectively gone mad and that his faerie "family" has begun to find him tiresome.

Scarab Sages

This is a party started with the Beta playtest on Mad God's Key. After several more Dungeon adventures, we segued into Red Hand of Doom. Currently they just completed the siege and are all 9th level.

Half elf wizard 3/druid 5/mystic theurge 1. Chose the fire domain

half orc barbarian 9. 2handed weapon specialist.

human thief 9. archer, sneak attacker extrodinaire

dwarf monk 9. strength focus instead of dexterity. Power attack and flurry everywhere.

Although they lack a dedicated healer, the prevalence of potions in this campaign has allowed them to get by. Actually, they have been very effective in combat, only having narrowly avoided defeat by the greater barghest ambush, and having fled the ghostlord.
