Price of belladonna

General Discussion (Prerelease)

So is it free poison? Or how have you handled it - priced as other poisons or given to pcs when they need it? Have I totally missed this from rules?

Sovereign Court

It's an annoying weed that grows between cobblestones, which routinely requires strong horse urine to prevent its spread.

It's free if you can handle the taste of horse pee. Otherwise, you'll have to pay some mageling to prestiditate the horsepee taste out of it.

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32

Heh.

You still have to pay someone to pick it and dry it out for you. But I don't think it should have a price measured in gold (or silvers for that matter).

Same with hemlock.

Then again, IANAP.

Scarab Sages

And arsenic? it should be cheap also...

easiest way to get poison is to kill the big nasties and extract it yourself... =D

I'd say it's the same as any other raw materials involving Craft skills. If you have metalworking abilities, then any ore or scrap metal you find is free weapons and armor. If you have woodworking, then trees become instant wagons and buildings. Heck if you're a miner and you find a vein of gold--free gold!

The price of any poison reflects the knowledge of the apothacary to identify it correctly, and properly purify and prepare it--if you can do that for yourself then I'd say it's the same price as slingstones or clubs or quarterstaves, just reach down and pick it up.
