I missed the 'build at level 9'. I have a possible wilden druid controller, but I'm not sold on it yet. I'm still playing with CB :)

I should have something soon.

Amelia are you building a controller?
lol I was building a eladrin wizard controller :)

If you want to be a druid controller, I'll make something
else no problem.

I'm not at all focused on controller. I'm building a lot of things, and if you have an eladrin wizard go for it. I'm a CB addict, like Rosey :) I've already made and tossed like a dozen ideas so far!

I was thinking of a fighter/wizard hybrid to experiment with since it looks like controllers and a secondary defender is what you could use, from what I can see. I like to mess around with hybrids to see what kind of hair brained things I can come up with. Someone to backup Kelgan but still maintain an ability to control things would be what I'm aiming for.

I've worked out a beastform shifter druid I like, who can move 12 on a charge, 14 when bloodied!

But, I wanna look more at tiefling and eladrin to, since I have aliases from dead games I can use for them.

As for fighter/wizard hybrid, wouldn't swordmage/wizard work better as both are Int classes? That's actually one of the things I might look into myself for Eladrin.

Yea possibly, I haven't actually worked it out yet on that, so I may or may not do that. I'm going to check on CB tonight to see if I can make it work, otherwise I may go a different route. I like to try weird combinations to see if I get any surprises, in the good way that is.

Human

Once you've sorted yourselves out, let me know.

I'm having to re-arrange some bits of plot for you all, but that's fine. They'll happen in the background rather than the foreground.

There will be a small amount of downtime as the others will all need to update to level 9 as well.

Ok here's my character so far, but I'm still transferring the information to the website, he or she, not sure just yet, will be a fighter/wizard...now before you all cringe in horror, I think this character will work as far as what I have in mind. I'm planning the character to be a secondary defender to back up Kelgan, but focused a lot of my powers on control and casting arcane spells up close in OA range.

He/she's got good defenses, pretty good hp, a little above average surges, lots of control/zone spells, can convert up to 5 squares of terrain into difficult terrain as Minor action, and can fight up close.

Human

Ava looks as though he/she is a useful build. I'll be interested to see how it plays out in combat, with you shoving people into forced flanks with Kegan and both of you able to mark. That's going to make a lot of big guns very stuck when they least want to be, lets Hobbes and Kel pepper at range, and frees Erik up to provide the buffs and debuffs. All of this before even knowing what Amy is planning to bring to the table.

Hmm. I shall have to work on amusing enemies for you all.

Amy's not sure yet :) I have 2 builds I like, so far - a beastform druid and a tiefling warlock. But, I'm still playing with ideas. CB is addicting!

I still have my controller dream mage built so if needed i can go full controller. As for Ava's build, I was going to use her as a 2nd line of defense for the group to kind of catch whatever rushes by Kelgan and work with him on the front lines or cover the squishies.

Human

Amy and Amael, how are you looking?

Once the still-alive gang mop up their current predicament, I'll get you into play, so it would be helpful to have some idea of what you've decided on.

I'm happy with my Fighter/Wizard, I'm just working on a personality/description/ and story, but the characters all set. I'm very excited to try her out :)

Working!!!!

I'll get something today, I hope. I know, I'm terribly slow!

Human

I know you, Amy. Left to yourself you'll twink around with CB to the end of time :) I'm just helping out be forcing a deadline.

Ava looks fine mechanically. Looking forward to seeing the character at work.

Hey Rosey, did you need the CB file sent to you?

Human

That would be good. I don't technically need it, but they're always nice to have.

I wish the Tiefling Book was on it. On the WotC board, there's a lot of praise for it, saying how amazing it is. I may be picking it up at the end of the week myself, but wish it was on CB.

Human

I'm always amenable to revision when new stuff comes out. Ideally, it's better to wait for a level-up, but depending on what you want to change, I'm usually happy to negotiate.

That applies to everyone, by the way.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

It's Amy!

I've decided to turn my level 1 tiefling warlord from a very short lived game into a level 9 tiefling warlock.

Gonna get the profile done here, then send the CB file to you Rev.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

Profile done. No wishlist yet, though.

CB winging through the ether!

Human

Got her. She looks good.

Do you and Ava want to have met already?

That's work for me. Oh, I'll need to work on background and all too.

That sounds good to me and would probably be easier to work us both in at the same time.

My initial background is done, although its mostly a framework, I'll be working on it as I go, but it should give you some idea of the character I hope :)

Human

That's fine. You'll be arriving shortly. They just need to land their temporary transport and then negotiate with the ever-reliably infuriating Mother Bartha.

Human

Ava and Arrika - if you're good to go, let me know and I'll get your intro up.

I'm all set, Rosey :)

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

I'm also all set. I'm getting the Tiefling book tommorow, so there may be some changes in the next day.

Human

No problem. I'll get you set up in the morning. My morning, that is.

Human

Apologies for the slight delay.

You're also being rejoined by Pat, who was one of the original players in this game. He's rustled up a half-orc warlord to add to the team, who should be useful on a lot of fronts.

Pat, if you can profile yourself up with full stats, that would be super-nice and I'll get intro posts up for you all.

Are you in anyway likely to be connected to Ava or Arrika? It doesn't make much difference, but it would be helpful to know.

So. The party now looks like this:

Arrika - tiefling warlock
Ava - eladrin fighter/wizard
Erik - human bard
Hobbes - human sorcerer
Kelgan - half-orc fighter
Kel - half-elf ranger/cleric
Urlag - half-orc warlord

There's probably not much you can't handle with that little lot, but we shall see.

M Half-Orc Two-Weapon Ranger 6

Hello, all. Thanks, Rev.

Meet Urlag, a half-orc of surpassing size, strength, and ugliness.

Probably not connected to Ava, but don't know Arrika's background.

Urlag was a street thug who rose through the ranks, until it was time to make himself scarce for a while . . .

Human

New thread.

Have fun folks. You're off again.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

I have the new tiefling book. Not done with it yet, and it doesn't look like there will be any changes to me, except the background. And the benefit from that will be the same, and I'll get that written up this weekend. There are some nice feats and at least 2 I'll be taking - at levels 10 and 11.

So, I can say I'm fully set.

Rev, something for your DM profile, and for all players' info.

If you are within 10 squares of Urlag and can see and hear him, you gain +2 to Insight and Perception.

If you spend an AP for an extra action and can see Urlag, you gain +1 to defenses until the beginning of your next turn.

Male Human Geek 10

I updated Hobbes, Rosey. I picked an area burst fire spell for level 9, retrained my level 1 daily to dazzling ray (targeted spell that does radiant damage), and I changed my focus from dagger to staff implement.

I hope you don't mind. It means my implement focus feat is staff, not dagger and I changed my dagger feat (the one that lets me do ranged basic attacks as melee attacks) to improved initative. And I traded my wyrmtooth dagger+2 for the staff of ruin +2 that I wanted. That means I don't get any extra bonus to attack, just an extra +2 to damage for all my powers instead of just the ranged basic ones. I then sold my bracers of perfect shot, since they don't stack with the staff of ruin and I bought a pair of Arcanist's Glasses. Hobbes calls them his "cheaters". He only wears them when he is actively doing an Arcana check. (He thinks they make him look dorky)

If you want my new CB sheet, let me know.

Male Humanoid Lurker 1/ Nerd 1

Wait, we leveled up? Missed it. I'll do it tomorrow.

Human

Sorry, I missed this Cale. Go ahead and send me Hobbes if you don't mind. I'm OK with those changes.

Rosey:

Spoiler:
I was wondering if it would be possible to keep my magical sword and instead of giving me new weapons, if I could have ways to upgrade its power? Its a family heirloom so I figured trading it for a better weapon would be something Ava wouldn't do.

Ava - absolutely. I'm quite happy to do that for you.

Rosey:

Spoiler:
Let me know if I'm being too abrasive as Ava. She's a bit rough around the edges, but when I pictured her I kept picturing someone who is very distant, almost alien in mindset to human matters, and is something like a clean freak who finds herself surrounded by dirt all the time, if that makes any sense :)

Human

Ava

Spoiler:

I don't have a problem with her as she's gradually learning to interact with others. This is quite a spikey party in many ways, but one group I've run for a long time have evolved from outrageously spikey to quite companionable with their own mythology.

That said, don't expect NPCs to adore her :)

Just a note to warn you all that I'm away all weekend at a wedding and chances are good that I won't be able to get online. Leaving Saturday morning and due back Monday afternoon.

Noooooooooo!!!!
But Rapt must dieeeeeee!

Have fun Rosey :)

Yes, have fun!

Did we lose TGZ? (aka Erik the bard)

Yes. He had rl issues and had to pull out.

Apologies for the slight hiatus - am at my cousin's house surrounded by children and posting is a fraction tricky,

Still following if you ever need me to step in :), you have a nice group going right now, it has a good balance.

Human

Thanks detritus :) Glad you're enjoying the increasingly tangled exploits of the heroes.
