Amelia are you building a controller?
lol I was building a eladrin wizard controller :)If you want to be a druid controller, I'll make something
else no problem.
I'm not at all focused on controller. I'm building a lot of things, and if you have an eladrin wizard go for it. I'm a CB addict, like Rosey :) I've already made and tossed like a dozen ideas so far!

Amael |

I was thinking of a fighter/wizard hybrid to experiment with since it looks like controllers and a secondary defender is what you could use, from what I can see. I like to mess around with hybrids to see what kind of hair brained things I can come up with. Someone to backup Kelgan but still maintain an ability to control things would be what I'm aiming for.

I've worked out a beastform shifter druid I like, who can move 12 on a charge, 14 when bloodied!
But, I wanna look more at tiefling and eladrin to, since I have aliases from dead games I can use for them.
As for fighter/wizard hybrid, wouldn't swordmage/wizard work better as both are Int classes? That's actually one of the things I might look into myself for Eladrin.

Ok here's my character so far, but I'm still transferring the information to the website, he or she, not sure just yet, will be a fighter/wizard...now before you all cringe in horror, I think this character will work as far as what I have in mind. I'm planning the character to be a secondary defender to back up Kelgan, but focused a lot of my powers on control and casting arcane spells up close in OA range.
He/she's got good defenses, pretty good hp, a little above average surges, lots of control/zone spells, can convert up to 5 squares of terrain into difficult terrain as Minor action, and can fight up close.

Ava looks as though he/she is a useful build. I'll be interested to see how it plays out in combat, with you shoving people into forced flanks with Kegan and both of you able to mark. That's going to make a lot of big guns very stuck when they least want to be, lets Hobbes and Kel pepper at range, and frees Erik up to provide the buffs and debuffs. All of this before even knowing what Amy is planning to bring to the table.
Hmm. I shall have to work on amusing enemies for you all.

Amy's not sure yet :) I have 2 builds I like, so far - a beastform druid and a tiefling warlock. But, I'm still playing with ideas. CB is addicting!

Amelia |

I know you, Amy. Left to yourself you'll twink around with CB to the end of time :) I'm just helping out be forcing a deadline.
Ava looks fine mechanically. Looking forward to seeing the character at work.
I wish the Tiefling Book was on it. On the WotC board, there's a lot of praise for it, saying how amazing it is. I may be picking it up at the end of the week myself, but wish it was on CB.

Apologies for the slight delay.
You're also being rejoined by Pat, who was one of the original players in this game. He's rustled up a half-orc warlord to add to the team, who should be useful on a lot of fronts.
Pat, if you can profile yourself up with full stats, that would be super-nice and I'll get intro posts up for you all.
Are you in anyway likely to be connected to Ava or Arrika? It doesn't make much difference, but it would be helpful to know.
So. The party now looks like this:
Arrika - tiefling warlock
Ava - eladrin fighter/wizard
Erik - human bard
Hobbes - human sorcerer
Kelgan - half-orc fighter
Kel - half-elf ranger/cleric
Urlag - half-orc warlord
There's probably not much you can't handle with that little lot, but we shall see.

Urlag |

Hello, all. Thanks, Rev.
Meet Urlag, a half-orc of surpassing size, strength, and ugliness.
Probably not connected to Ava, but don't know Arrika's background.
Urlag was a street thug who rose through the ranks, until it was time to make himself scarce for a while . . .

Arrika |

I have the new tiefling book. Not done with it yet, and it doesn't look like there will be any changes to me, except the background. And the benefit from that will be the same, and I'll get that written up this weekend. There are some nice feats and at least 2 I'll be taking - at levels 10 and 11.
So, I can say I'm fully set.

I updated Hobbes, Rosey. I picked an area burst fire spell for level 9, retrained my level 1 daily to dazzling ray (targeted spell that does radiant damage), and I changed my focus from dagger to staff implement.
I hope you don't mind. It means my implement focus feat is staff, not dagger and I changed my dagger feat (the one that lets me do ranged basic attacks as melee attacks) to improved initative. And I traded my wyrmtooth dagger+2 for the staff of ruin +2 that I wanted. That means I don't get any extra bonus to attack, just an extra +2 to damage for all my powers instead of just the ranged basic ones. I then sold my bracers of perfect shot, since they don't stack with the staff of ruin and I bought a pair of Arcanist's Glasses. Hobbes calls them his "cheaters". He only wears them when he is actively doing an Arcana check. (He thinks they make him look dorky)
If you want my new CB sheet, let me know.

Ava
I don't have a problem with her as she's gradually learning to interact with others. This is quite a spikey party in many ways, but one group I've run for a long time have evolved from outrageously spikey to quite companionable with their own mythology.
That said, don't expect NPCs to adore her :)
