taig RPG Superstar 2012 |
Taig whatever you are smoking please share with the class. Wait, with how large this has gotten maybe we should just put everything in the middle, mix it up, and all join in. Who cares about interactions of certain mind altering substances. Oh look a nymph, ummm.....gotta go.
Unfortunately, the way my body seems to metabolize drugs (I can't take Benadryl without feeling like I've had 5 beers in a 5-minute span) I stay away from anything strong. So no mind-altering drugs for me.
I was finishing David Fryer's countdown from 200, using prime numbers.
Anyway, have fun with the nymph.

Hey, Aberzombie.....where are those mythological snippys from?
Sorry, I've been offline since I posted that stuff. It was all from a great website I found a few years back called Encyclopedia Mythica.

Morgause
The daughter of Ygerna and Gorlois, the Duke of Cornwall and therefore half-sister to Arthur. She marries Lot of Orkney and their sons are Gawain, Gaheris, Agravain, and Gareth. In the Vulgate cycle, Malory and other later versions, Mordred is also her son by Arthur. Though unaware of it at the time, Arthur has committed an incestuous act which serves to emphasize Mordred's role as Arthur's nemesis. Morgause later has an affair with Lamorak de Galis and she is slain by her son Gaheris who discovers the two in bed.

King Ban
Father of Lancelot. First named in the Vulgate Lancelot. He is the sage king of Benoic in western France. Ban is defeated by his foe, Claudas of Berry, dying while Lancelot is but an infant. For this reason Lancelot is taken to be raised by the Lady of the Lake.
Malory creates in Ban an early ally of Arthur in his struggles to consolidate power against rebellious vassals. Lancelot is himself made lord of Benoic. "Benwick" claims Malory, is the name of a real city, possibly Bayonne.

Choctaw creation myth
The Choctaw who remain in Mississippi tell this story as an explanation of how they came to the land where they live now and of how Naniah Waiya Mound came to be. Two brothers, Chata and Chicksah led the original people from a land in the far west that had ceased to prosper.
The people traveled for a long time, guided by a magical pole. Each night, when the people stopped to camp, the pole was placed in the ground and in the morning the people would travel in the direction in which the pole leaned.
After traveling for an extremely long time, they finally came to a place where the pole remained upright. In this place, they laid to rest the bones of their ancestors, which they had carried in buffalo sacks from the original land in the west. The mound grew out of that great burial. After the burial, the brothers discovered that the land could not support all the people.
Chicksah took half the people and departed to the North and eventually became the Chickasaw tribe. Chatah and the others remained near the mound and are now known as the Choctaw. The elders of the tribe claim to this day that the ground near the mound and the cave are sacred and that they will fall ill and die if they are away from the land too long.
