Pathfinder Beta print copy???

General Discussion (Prerelease)

I am playing in a just starting out Pathfinder rpg group and am DESPERATELY trying to get my hands on a print copy of the Pathfinder beta rules. However, now Paizo is no longer selling any copies. This is not a good way to spread the game to others with the release coming at GenCon in August. I have several people I want to show the game to that I know would be interested in playing but only if I can get a print copy over to show to them.

Do any of you have a print copy you would be willing to sell me or know of some other way? I have not been able to find ANYTHING Pathfinder related on EBay and I checked with my local Kinkos. To print the pdf would cost me almost $40 and then after I purchse a binder and tabs for it I will have spent nearly $50.

Also, I'm hoping to land myself a fabergé egg if anyone's got one.

It's only three months until the final version is out. Paizo sold out long ago, on the Beta book, and did not reprint because it would have arrived too late for usability in the massive playtest.

I'd recommend showing folks the PDF on the computer, and telling them they can get their own free copy from Paizo until the hardback PFRPG becomes available, unless someone is lucky enough to find any in a B&M somewhere.

Good luck.

Do you really need the whole PDF printed?

There are some great Character sheets already out there with any information on them you as a player would need outside of spells. Print the spells, print the character sheet and bang your done. No more then say 20 bucks, less likely.

All that said this is the beta, and will be replaced by easily bought release edition soon. They are already putting out some of it now and the rules are changing even if only slightly.

I'd download the PDF, read it and be familar with it but I wouldn't shell out much money to have a print. Just print what you need as a player, it's bound to be far less then the whole thing.

I have bad news for you. I suspect at this point you're going to have to pay about $40 or more for a copy of the Beta, as they are long gone at all levels of distribution. They sold WAY faster than we thought, and by the time we had to seriously consider a reprint we were already needing to save up money to print the hardcovers.

It's admittedly not a great situation, but in three months the actual book will be out so thankfully it's a relatively short-term problem.

Good luck with the hunt.

What actual book will be released at GenCon? Will it be the monsters book or the actual core rulebook?

It will be the core rule book. The monster book will be out a month later.

::fingers crossed:: Oh, please let it be a landscape version ::hope, hope::

daddystabz, you may want to go to this site, if you have the ability:

http://www.printme1.com/

From what I can gather, it will cost you about 14.50 to print the beta at 410 pages. I have not had the occasion to use this site myself, but I have heard good things about it.

I see my funds vanishing in the drain that is called Paizo from September on ;-)

I have two friends that are desperately searching for it and can't find it. One of them offered me $75 for it. I turned him down, this thing is going to be a collectors item and should I ever have an opportunity to meet the great people of Paizo, they're all signing it. :)

Same here. This is MY copy of the beta! ;-)

P.S. - That is a good idea, SirUrza. Perhaps when I go to the Paizo Con 2010, I can get them to sign both that and the final version.

Thanks so much for that link! They look to be very affordable/reasonable.

Folks,

We're committed to releasing info about the Post-Bestiary RPG products at PaizoCon, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait just a teensy bit longer.

New problem. Every time I try to upload my pdf print project at http://www.printme1.com when I click on "pay now" to complete my order it gives me a server error, thus preventing me from being able to complete the transaction.

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worse yet, when you check your bank statements, you might see that each time you tried to upload, you were billed before the server error, resulting in multiple billings for something you never got.

I'm not saying they're a bad site, or they're out to steal your money, or anything negative about the company specifically.

I'm only saying that computer errors can happoen at any stage, and if it happens after billing and before producing, you might get billed for each failed try.

Hey There- This is printme1.com here. There is a small issue today (only) which has been preventing orders from proceeding to paypal, so no need to worry about anyone's card being charged accidently. Should that have happened, we certainly would have refunded it. The site has been working error free for several months until today. So please, check back tomorrow. If you encounter the error and need something, please email us and the girls at the shop will manually get it in the queue. Thanks...M

The issue was fixed.

We were testing out some new features earlier today that accidentally interfered with the order queue. Sorry about that...Anyway, we are back up and running...Sorry for any inconvenience. M

~wistles~ Now that is good customer service. Thank you, printme1 people for not only fixing those issues but also responding here. I will be using you all for sure after this. Also, can you all do any color printing? Just wondering.

Color- not yet, but we are soon adding a new separate site that does simple color book printing from PDF.

In fact, the testing today was for updated code that will be used in a few new (simple) printing sites of ours, including the new color one.

Sweet! I was just wondering. I have a few PDFs that I would not mind printing.

Thanks, though I can't take credit for it. They called it that once in an old issue of Knights of the Dinner Table. I've been using it ever since.

I'm guessing it's not a rulebook. An extension of the Campaign Setting? Artbook?(I'd be all over it, but I can see how it might not be the time for it yet)

My players might be interested in selling their Beta to earn cash for the final game in August. So, let me know what your offer is, including shipping and I can check with them Monday.

Good to hear.

I never doubted that you would have fixed billing errors. I'm glad to hear there weren't any; way better to have none than to fix many.

I work in software quality assurance, so I see this kind of thing all the time - fortunately it's almost always only in test labs because we catch it and fix it.

Anyway, glad it's all better.

If you can't find it in the US, you can probably find it abroad.

There is a copy available on the shelves of my local gaming store in Lyon, France (admittedly, this is probably of no use for you). Their are also two copies available at LudikBazar, a French seller. There General Conditions page says they can ship abroad. They accept PayPal. I have done business with them before and they are very nice.

I printed mine off for less that $50 and it was bound with one of those plastic bindings. I found a place that would do it for 3 cent a page and $5 for the binding. End up costing me roughly $18. Of course I was lucky when I did it because I hit a promotional sale as the price is normally 9 cents a page. So it would cost me $41 today to have it done. These sales pop up every so often though, so look around at various print shops.

Actually it probably is - he said "Post-Monster RPG books". But perhaps I misunderstand what you mean.
