Pretty simple.
I would like to know what you guys would do to change the favoured soul class so that is now still sorcerer to cleric.
Cause as it stands there is no reason to it because of channeling.
Channeling is much, much more powerful than the turning ability.
So I am just wondering what you guys would do to change it.
A new player would like to play one but I don't want him to fall behind the other pathfinder powered characters.

I'd agree with this. Honestly try a playtest with the 3.5 favored soul coupled with either the Abyssal, Infernal (for evil favored souls), Fey (For Neutral ones), or Celestial bloodlines (for good ones) from the PFRPG Sorcerer.

When I updated the Favored Soul to PFRPG, I reduced the class' Spells Known by 1 from the table, but allowed them to take two cleric domains instead. The spells from the domain list were then added to the FS's Spells Known at the odd levels (as with sorcerer bloodlines) and they got access to the domains' 1st level supernatural abilities (using their FS level in lieu of their cleric level). Where there were gaps in the spells known, I filled them in using the 3.5 domains as guidelines.

You can also add destined for any alignment, the destined bloodline is great flavor for a favored soul.
