Sunset bobs her head at Amiars' whisper, the woman's comments seeming to go a long way at calming the fractious elf's developing mood. Even as the town speaker sneers to himself and his fellow farmers then shouting,

"Galen Stormwalker, we have a lot of troubles lately. As you can no doubt see, we have no food and no livelihood. We've been beset by goblin attacks and poor Myton lost his business with that inn being burned!" He almost jumps off the raised platform at the end of the room and walks toward Galen.

"That wizard kills our plants and now he's trying to finish the job by destroying the only other source of income around here!" The man stands almost nose to nose with the object of his rant.

Sunset steps agilely around the brewing storm and, with only a couple of strides from her gangly legs, vaults up onto the platform so recently vacated. She pauses to survey the crowd from her newly elevated perch, making sure that she has gathered enough attention before proclaiming,

"Evenin' good fellows of Cirumcroft! Aye, th' tales of yer troubles have indeed spread well beyond th' bounds of yer small glen." She pauses both for effect and to draw breath.

"An' t'is sorry m'self an' travelin' companions are thet it did take us some time t' get here from whence we've come." Her attention shifts to the former speaker and she inclines an eyebrow, tilts her heard to let the man know that he's surrendered the 'high ground' of the debate/encounter to her by abdicating the platform.

"BUT! Bein' late t'is one thing, but I'll defy any one of ye t' say we wus tardy at comin' t' yer aid." Again a pause now, to let her words sink in to those gathered and for her expression to change to one of seriousness and steel,

"Make no mistake folks, we're here t' help. T' do whut needs t' be DONE an' to solve th' dilemma whut's befallen ye. T'is not fer any reward, nor th' promise o' 'shiney' whut brings us t' yer burg."

Spoiler:
Roland, Amira and Ferdinand may notice just the smallest hint of hesitation at the elf's glib dismissing of a reward

"T'is th' challenge o' makin' things RIGHT whut set us on our course!" Again a pause, though this time more for dramatic effect than anything else,

"SO! Ye've all women folks an' sprat-lings at home whut would be better served with yer comfortin' presence on this darkest o' nights, while we lot get about th' task of makin' things RIGHT!" She lingers, letting her words both carry across the crowd and fade into the night, before making a small 'bow' of her head and then lightly stepping of the platform, gracefully leaving the center of attention and returning to stand next to Amira, all the while her gave is cooly leveled at the speaker. She whisprs to the other woman,

Spoiler:
Ah, well glad I am ye pointed that out to me luv. Playin' at sword fights comes nat'r'l t' me.", she finishes in a whisper and with a nod and wink to Amira.

An' with that I'm done bein' th' center of attention. Is there a 'perform' skill I should be addin' there? So,as per me question afore, the loud speaker of the town, he's a passing resemblance t' th' boy we met earlier? He's th' "Mister Ebb" then? Master of his house an' farm? Just I never got a reply t' that question, or do/should I make a roll t' spot or somat? Cheery-O!

Spoiler:
SQUEEEEE! Am I th' first inta th' new page! (O.O) O.M.G! *sproings about a little madly* (^_^)

Roland looks for a wagon, stump or other slight elevation that he can use to improve is viewpoint as he gazes south, looking for the source of the closing noise . . . . .
Perception - (1d20+7=17)

Trepedation grows as he considers the dice rolls and sinister omen, he prepares his bow.

"I..." begins Ferdinand as Sunset begins her talk. "Ahem, as I was saying, I swear in Abadar's name that when we return to this town it shall be with Delmvar's head on a pike!"

On a side note, Sunset, may I recommend you use quotes when reposting things other people said. The format is like so: (quote=Person]Words(/QUOTE), only with brackets instead of parentheses.

Sunset turns to look at Ferdinand, an eyebrow raised,

"Um, matey? I think ye be steerin' a course afore ye know th' lay o' th' shoals. Could ye take some advice aboard an' maybe appreciate that t'is not a wise action t'be declarin'?" She says quietly, stepping away from Ferdinand Salatic to indicate that she doesn't share, nor agree, to his words or plan of action. Unfolding and refolding her arms, the light x-bow being juggled easily around the folding of limbs.

"At sea, ye never set course until ye're sure t'is navigable." She grins,"Boats, they don't sail backwards, ye ken?" Sunset adds with an impish smile and a wink to take any 'sting' out of her words.

Okeys. I see whut ye mean there with th' quotes an' stuff. I wus just tryin' t' keep th' flow o' th' written piece happenin', like. Is no big problem. We live an' we learn, hey? ^_^ Oh, should I be puttin' in any dicing rollin' ype things? Or is that the DM's preview? *looks nervous*

Spoiler:
Though, o' course there's still th' lil' aspect o' you rushin' int' somat whut might not be all o' th' best idea, hey? ^_~

Hey, sorry t' be hearin' about yer troubles there Holg Farcull. *hugz* Best wishes straightening everything out!

Does Amira know anything about this particular wizard? Is he from my school? a rival school perhaps? is he my former master maybe? LoL

m half elf Paladin 2

(looks over at ferdinand with some concern) we shall do our utmost to find the culprit and if it is this Delmvar then rest assured we will bring him to justice, please calm down and tell us from the begining what's been happening

With all the adventurers claiming they can rid the town of it's tormentor, some people seem astonished and relieved, and an old woman actually begins to weep, probably from joy. The large man seems to soften, due to the fast words and good rolls of the adventurers

"Sorry for the not-so warm welcome, but we haven't had much good news of late.. That damnable wizard is destroying us from the outside in and no one has even come down our road for weeks."

Some of the members of the crowd begin offering up whatever bits of money they have, trying to pay you in advance for deeds undone. You're pretty much surrounded at this point by poor farmers and their copper coins.

Amira, as you heard the name Delmvar at the beginning it didn't ring a bell at all, and then while talking about the wizard, and being that you're in a farming town.. You seem to remember hearing about a Delmvar, a member of the order being quite interested in plant life, and even performing odd experiments with sentient creatures and plants. (knowledge Arcane skill check result: 25)

OUTSIDE

As Roland searches nearby for something to stand on, he notices in the sky to the south, in the failing light, what looks like a shimmering sheet of gold which hums loudly...first it's only on the horizon but as it gets closer, he can see that it's some kind of swarm and the buzzing sound gets louder as it gets closer.

Amira, feeling crowded, begins to get anxious...as a distraction she summons a ball of light onto her spearhead...

"People calm down!" Amira states "Keep your coins...let us do our work!"

Does Roland see a swarm coming?

He checks the town hall for shutters or windows that may serve to keep anyhing out.

He calls out to Holg on the roof to look south, perhaps his outdoor training will better serve to identify what's coming . . .

As the towns' folk smile and surround the party, Sunset quickly skips over and hugs Ferdinand Salatic, the light x-bow dexterously shifting so as not to be pokeing anything it shouldn't.

"Glad I am t' see we're of an understandin'!" She whispers, grinning impishly and squeezing the man tightly. "I'd be hatin' fer...us t' be getin' off all on th' wrong footin', kind o' thing." For a brief instant Ferdinand Salatic does wonder if and why the elf woman's' hands seem to wander at the contact and he's still feeling a little puzzled as she releases the hug but continues to stand beside him, one arm coiled around his waist, the other cradling her x-bow.

Spoiler:
Perhaps a 'sense motive' check to realize Sunset seems to be trying very hard to not take any money? (^_~)

Hopin' we all get a goodly amount o' warnin' o' th' tempest whut's commin' down on our ears, mates! Is me postin' improvin', by th' way?

Amira stands in contemplation:

"Ah yes, I remember a Delmvar..."

"I seem to remember hearing about a Delmvar, a member of the order being quite interested in plant life, and even performing odd experiments with sentient creatures and plants."

"So it would seem this may indeed be the same Delmvar. And he seems to have taken a severe dislike to your little hovel."

Male half-orc Ranger 1

I'm back finally.

Perception while on the roof: 1d20+6=10

Amira removes the group from the archives.

Sunset looks towards Amira as the woman speaks, interest shining from her blue eyes.

"Ooo, so's yer famil'ar with this feller, then?" She asks, then turns her head and grins to Ferdinand Salatic, blushing slightly,

"Sorry mate, I seem t've judged ye wrongly there." She tightens her hold on him a little more as she whispers her apology into his ear. Then just as suddenly disentangling herself from the embrace, Sunset skips over to Amira's side.

"Whut else' 'ave ye t' share about this 'Delmvar' bloke, then?" She asks brightly and Amira notices the slight accent the elf puts into the mans' name even as she speaks it, wondering if it's an Elven form of epithet which distracts her as Sunset slides an arm around the Wizardess' waist.

Oooo, m' tummy's gone all a flutter! Whut wus that drop and bounce whut happened? ^_^ Hee hee! Glad I am t' see some folks back at least! Glad t' hear yer troubles are behind ye, Holg Farcull!

"Nothing more I can remember at this time..." Amira whispers...

Then slips away, "Come we have work to do." Slamming the butt of her staff into the floorboards of the building.

I'm still checking in daily . . . .

Fem Elf Bard 3

Oh, I do to, mate. Just wonderin' when every one's goin' t' get things 'happin', kind o' thing. ^_~

Sunset skips back, keeping her bare feet away from the solid thumping that Amera plants into the floorboards.

Amera Starbrow wrote:

"Aye well we've a couple o' look outs in whut would be th' riggin'. So's we should have a good call fer things on th' horizon, so's t' speak." Sunset acknowledges with a grin as she steps carefully after Amera. .

ditto...it gets a bit overwhelming at times if you're not ready for it...I'm running two atm, one mine, one I took over. Sometimes when I've got maps to make for both, wooo, it gets tough.

Male half-orc Ranger 1

I'm sorry, I'm completely lost as to what we're currently doing in the pbp.

*looks around confused*

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll know what to do when the DM shows up again. If he shows up again...

Fem Elf Bard 3

That's okay Holg Farcull, Ferdinand Salatic, Amira Starbrow, Galen Stormwalker. Should the DM have other pressin' matter t' attend too (an' we all know how much of a hassle Real Life c'n be) We'll just form us into a posse of 'wanderin' adventurers an' go rustle up 'nuther one and we'll game ON! ^_^

Moving this to my inactive games list, bummer, I liked this character. I'll check on it once per day for a couple more weeks still.

*sigh*

How's everyone doing? Still watching? Been another week...

Fem Elf Bard 3

SORRY! SORRY! SORRY! SORRY! Been hard at work workin' m'self in't a new job! :( No time t' do more'n peek in an' see how things are goin'. Or not, as th' case may be. T'is a dang shame if'n we've gone an'lost our DM. Drat an' buggerit all t' heck an' back! Ah well, here's t' hopin' th' persons Real Life issues aren't too troublin' to 'em. Will try somat later on when I get th' chance. Still, will keep a weather eye on this thread, ye never know, right? (^.~) Cheery-O!

I still take a look . . .

Male half-orc Ranger 1
