SPECIAL ABILITIES / FEATURES

Weapon and Armor Proficiency:

Spoiler:
Rogues are proficient
with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, rapier,
sap, shortbow, and short sword. Rogues are proficient
with light armor, but not with shields.

Sneak Attack:

Spoiler:
If a rogue can catch an opponent when he
is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she
can strike a vital spot for extra damage.

Trapfinding:

Spoiler:
Rogues (and only rogues) can use the
Perception skill to locate traps when the task has a
Difficulty Class higher than 20.

Finding a nonmagical trap has a DC of at least 10, or
higher if it is well hidden. Finding a magic trap has a DC
of 25 + the level of the spell used to create it.

Rogues (and only rogues) can use the Disable Device
skill to disarm magic traps. A magic trap generally has a
DC of 25 + the level of the spell used to create it.
A rogue who beats a trap’s DC by 10 or more with
a Disable Device check can study a trap,
figure out how it works, and bypass it (with her party)
without disarming it.

Background

Spoiler:

Roland Kain grew up in the Mirror City. Disillusioned with his parent’s way of life, toiling from day to day, he set out on the streets to let his fast hands and quick wit make his living for him.

He soon discovered that there’s always someone looking for a chap who can get into tight places, glean knowledge, grab something shiny, and get out before the alarm goes out. And he made a nice living at it too. He slept very soundly playing one gutter king off after the other. Though he found his money came and went as quickly as he did. After all, what’s a coin for if not spending?

Before long, Roland also learned that for every employer who appreciates a good sneak, there’s a mark that loathes that sneak.

After one too many close calls he decided a vacation was in order. He needed a place to let his name cool off, and Cirucroft seems like just the right place. He hopes things aren't too slow, though. Idle hands are Belial’s playthings, or so the saying goes.
