Trying again, the forum bug ate this earlier, and I had to get to work :)
Is there a way to get the font(s) used on Pathfinder? Specifically, I would love to have the one that is used for the title on the RPG and Society (looks to the left side of the page and points). I'm making some home use only folders with information from the APs for the players to be able to read and fondle without fear of drifting into GM only territory (the Journals and the extended God/Cleric write ups, for example) and would love to have the real font to make my covers with :)
Thank you for all the wonderful pitures and logos you've given us, it makes preparing player hand outs sooooo much cooler!

Our art folks may be able to tell you what fonts we use, but we can't give them away, as most fonts are copyrighted commercial products.
Actually, I bet our community can tell you what those fonts are, and where to legally acquire them, even before our art department can... they may even be able to point you to freeware or shareware lookalikes in some cases.

Any and all of the above would be wonderful :) Thank you for the speedy reply!

I gave it a shot but the closest thing I could find using 'font identify' was this one. It might make a nice substitute if the logo font was done up special.

The fonts I've been able to identify Paizo using...
Agincourt
AngryBlue
Aquiline
Archangel
BadAngelSaint
CCTreacherousCorners
CCTreacherousCurves
Jubilee
Nexus
Prior
Saber
I believe Jubilee is the one they use for body text. CCTreacherousCorners (or Curves) is the font they use on the adventure's title on the cover.

Ouch ... Saber, or Saber Regular looks to be the one I was interested in, but not at $40 ... Thanks for the help :)

Yeppers, the site is mine. I pay to much for it every month because I don't know html or any other website programing code.

It's not hard to learn the basics. Just takes a little time.I learned a few things off this one in the times of <blink></blink>

There are lots of ways to learn the basics. When I was 15 I saved copies of lots of different pages and opened them in a text/visual editor, then saw what happened when I made slight alterations. I basically tore duplicates of websites apart and put them back together to see how they worked.

Folks,
I just wanted to remind you that it's not appropriate to advocate illegal activities or discuss them with intent to commit them on our boards. Not even if you do it in coded messages. Let's put a stop to that now.
Uhm, is that in responce to my statement or someone elses? If it was mine, I just wish to say I wasn't aware of the illegality.

No worries—it wasn't directed at you. The offending posts have been suppressed.

So, did anyone locate freeware clone versions of any fonts?
There are a few websites around that can identify fonts for you. Some ask you to upload a sample image, others ask you a bunch of questions (such as, does the font have serifs, is the "o" round or oval? etc) and after about 12 such questions, it has identified the font.
Using one of these services, you might not get the exact match, but you might find something that is kind of close? Which I guess is what you're looking for, if it's a similar-looking freeware font. Might take a bit of trial and error to find something suitable, though.
Try google "what font is that?" or something similar.
I think the iPhone also has an application that identifies fonts that you photograph. Though it could be useful for someone working in the graphic business, I don't think the application is free.
Not a definitive answer, but might give you a couple of options to explore.

one other tool for font identification I find useful is an on-line tool called called WhatTheFont. It may not give you the exact match, but it will give fonts that are probably close (and others that aren't, but could be a distant relation).
The best thing about this is is you can take a screen shot, clip the text and upload the jpeg file for font identification. Be sure to check the image submission tips link for file dimensions, resolution, etc for best results.
