The arranged marriage :
-----------------------
Given the general reaction to the announcement by the girls great father , I would like to change some things . what I propose is each of you are more or less opposed to the idea (Sir Oribar ?)
Rather than discussing it at the family mansion where anyway Morindur is not welcome and the elf who did present himself two months ago announcing himself the girl's uncle is also made unconfortable , you decided to have a change of venue to discuss your plans and removed yourselves to Moreton-on-Marsh a little town one day trip from Oppara .

And it took me a while to realise Amunrel has twin nieces rather than one niece who has a human sister!
Going through the opening bit was really tough! And Amunrel wasn't uncomfortable with the reaction he got, his concern was genuine after all Taldan or no Taldan arranging a marriage where neither side knows anything about the other... now you know thats going to end in tears!

Valkyrie Paine wrote:*grin* My approach? I was taking notes on yours!God, I've fallen in love with these characters. :)
Taking notes on Me'mori's rp approach too.
Too much pressure! ;)
It's the description of Halsanna's movements that make me jealous. I need to try and improve in that area. I rely on internal thoughts a lot, and that makes non-verbal communication between characters a little harder. That's one of the things I really like about PbP so far, you can take your time and study everyone's playstyle and learn from them at an easy pace. :)

Heh. You have what I need to work on. I tend to see my characters as actors in a movie, or a character in a book as seen from the viewpoint of the main character. The only problem is is that since they're seen from an outside viewpoint (and I have a habit of sticking to that viewpoint), their thought process never really comes into question, so I never really get practice.
Something I need to work on, for certain.

I guess doing it that way lets you be more flexible with what your character must have been thinking or feeling whenever you have to change your plans suddenly though. That way it can look a bit more natural. I tend to get locked in and when I have to change plans suddenly my characters can come off seeming a little crazy.
...
I guess that actually works with our characters in this PbP, huh? ;)

Oh boy where to start...basically Taldoran society is divided into 3 parts
1) Royalty most of whom trace their lineage back to one of the emperors...theres a multitude of titles involved and most have no meaning as the lands that are associated with them were lost yeras ago. This class are obsessed with gathering arcane knowledge
2) the Senatorial class...the hereditary members of Taldor’s senate, the governors of Taldor’s prefectures, and various heads of the bureaucracy and their families.
the two strata above are commonly referred to as 'the bearded' being that they are the only classes in which the men are legally entitled to wear beards. Wearing a beard is a symbol of status, and the level of extravagance poured into a man’s beard is representative of his personal wealth and power.
3) everyone else...subject to high taxes and tarrifs and mostly living a life of grinding poverty....the smartest and luckiest can graduate to the senatorial class and ocassionally to Royalty
I'd say we were from the top end of the senatorial or bottom end of the royalty classes.Possibly even families that were raised from the common crowd given our lack of money

but only a very tiny bit...the book specifically says that even a Merchant with a thriving business has very little excess wealth as he is taxed to the hilt and has to pay high tariffs. A Merchant with money is probably up to his elbows in shady doings which holds its own risks.

Another way of saying Amunrel needs to be looking for adventures to fund his business!

who says she can't share...dammit it would be so much easier if I could marry both of them ..actually theres nothing in Lord Caydens edicts forbidding a man from having two wives. In fact the old rogue would probably approve
OH NO YOU DIDN'T! ;)
I can't help but feel protective towards Halsanna now. :)

I didn't think to check my personal posts.
Halsanna is remaining in view, trying not to lounge like a ruffian, and probably failing somewhat. She's probably standing like a capable young woman, instead of looking like a "pretty armpiece", what with the breeches and shirt.

Just remember than you are not in the street but in a landing in a building . There can be little doubt than you are with the others if you are in sight

Well we are now 6
Now a question , do all of you want to use traits ? You can download them free from Paizo
Personnally I have nothing against them as they can help you differentiate your character a little better
This week end if any of you is interested I'll write a short summary of Taldor and Qadira regional feats
Oh and Magasir , please pick any preferred enemy you want. I think that with tim you'll meet some of them ...
