First of all , message transmit sound so you'll have to make a DC perception check if yours ears are stopped But alberich does have two scrolls of them to sell
Secondly you learn that there is in fact no magic caster actually in Brandon's bridge
Thirdly , alberich DOES have two scrolls of message and one of true strike. He is out of the others.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

Ah. When I read the description of the Message spell, particularly the line "When you whisper, the whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range," I thought it meant despite any obstacles, short of magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt. Clearly, robin, you interpret it differently. Thanks for clarifying.

In that case, I guess I'm not in the market for a scroll after all.

BTW, I'm curious, since I've never bought a spell scroll in my life. Is Ianthe allowed, before purchasing the scroll, to cast Read Magic to verify that the spell on the scroll is, indeed, True Strike? Or do I have a misconception about how these things work (which is always a distinct possibility.)

Yes it is audible to each creature but a deaf creature would not hear it nonetheless . Since your hearing will be impaired , tou'll gave to make a DC 10 perception check which is not much .
(forgot to post the DC earlier)

And yes , Alberih will allow you to check the scroll .

A question : Ianthe , If I remember rightly , you gave everyone his share of the money . Am I right ?

The last time I heard this matter being discussed was in this post, when Ianthe asked "would you all rather it be held by one or divvied up to be held individually?" I don't think we ever resolved the matter, did we? If we didn't, maybe we should.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

How do you do that? I've been wondering.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

Sorry? How does WHO do WHAT?

Definately a cross-post! I just wonder what she was originally going to say!

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

The link posting to have a specific topic featured. The best I can manage is a link to the page.

Good point! Click the time stamp to go to the link to the post, then use the url as usual.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Aaaaah.. I had wondered.

Finals and a test are oncoming for me, so I haven't been posting as often as I used to be.

Ianthé is going to replace her Spell Component Pouch (at the 20% markup: 5g1sp), and buy a light crossbow(45g),with 10 bolts(1g) wincing all the while.

That takes the fund from ~490gp to ~422gp, accounting for Adjunta's posts. Anyone else?

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

I'll assume the 25 gp for my scrolls comes from the fund, because if I have to pay for them myself, I would only buy one scroll for 12.5. 25 would be too deep a bite from my pocket.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Noted. ~422gp is now ~397gp.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Do we have an initiative order?

Nope
The harpy acts and the you all act and I resolve the situation in order of your posts

My posting may be erratic for the next few days. My father passed away this evening after a long fight with cancer.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

How is everyone doing in this? I've noticed that there are more and more one-line posts, and more pushes from the GM. Is everyone still interested in this? Any problems that can be resolved?

Well, I can tell you why I'VE posted so seldom lately. I've been afraid to post what I've been thinking. I'd sound like a sourpuss and a party pooper. But Me'mori, your post just encouraged me to speak my mind. I'm going to the in-character thread to do that...

I decided to push you a little more . but it's allways a difficult balance especially when you are role playing rather than having an encounter
I want to encourage role playing so I may err on this ...

Continue your excellent role playing by all means but I need to know if each of you is doing something special while waiting for Edgral to arrive

Ianthé is going to see what magic scrolls they had available again. I had forgotten that she had Scribe Scroll as a class feature. Time to start collecting magic.

Have we come to a decision on the splitting of money or not?

Not really but the consensus seems to have been to split the money

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

I spoke for splitting it. Adjunta seemed to oppose the idea, and I gave up.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

That's just it. Since Ianthé still has the spells from starting, and nothing else, she's looking for anything and everything that she can get her hands on.

Adjunta isn't actually apposed to spiting the money, he's just very thoughtful and likes to talk out decisions. If people insist on splitting the money he won't object. He's likely to abstain from voting. If there's a tie he's vote against splitting the money.

Ok , I'll try to give you a list of common spells .

Alberich have two scrolls of message , one of true strike, one endure elments , one comrehend languages , 2 expeditous retreat and 3 detect magic

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

Bad news. My place at work seems to have put a web blocker in place today which doesn't let me get to paizo.com. This morning, I could get in. During lunch, I couldn't. I can try some ways around it, which might work. It's also possible that my work will change its web blocking software. (It does so from time to time.) But it's also possible that I won't be able to post except from home, which I can't do very often.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

Okay, I found a few ways around it... although the only proxy site I found that lets me post has so many annoying pop-up ads. Still, it works. At least, until they change the filtering software at work again.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

I was wrong. The one proxy site I found worked for a few minutes, but then it went cuckoo, and then it stopped working altogether. I found a couple of other proxy sites which let me VIEW paizo.com, but not POST to it. Now I'm stuck for ideas.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

When it rains, it pours! Soon after paizo.com got blocked at work, my home PC got infected with a virus. My wife put overtime into getting this machine to work... but IE no longer gets any site at all, and Firefox crashes every now and then.

I'm posting this now message now, before doing my "main" posting, in case I'm stopped from posting any more...

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Any luck with Chrome?

robin wrote:

Ianthe , the collateral for each scroll is 50 gp (the cost of the scroll ) which means you have to fork 200 gp .

Furthermore, it costs you 30 gp to copy three level 1 spells in your spellbook and you have to make a DC 16 Spellcraft for each spell (11/20 chances of succeeding ). If you copy these from a scroll , the scroll is then destroyed in the process even if you fail in the spellcraft check . Recreating a 1st level scroll cost you 25hp in materials .
So in total 105 gp if you succeed in all your spellcraft checks

You can go ahead and delete your post then. No way in hell is she going to pay that much for non-essential spells.

If I could make a request, could you please put any purely OOC comments like the above and others like it in this thread? reading what has happened so far and then having to go through a string of OOC posts defeats the purpose of having this thread, as well as mars the continuity.

Some of us don't check the OOC threads every day and sometimes an OOC comment needs to be made in context of the text of the post.YMMV

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

True. I'm just speaking early, so the game doesn't get a whole page of OOC that stopped being relevant after the first two posts.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I'm still at a minor loss as to what should be going on. From Ianthé's point of view, she has tried to remain quiet while approaching the Piazza, and then she can see Mel waving them forward. Anything else beyond that has yet to be conveyed, though with Heren visible on the horse, she is expecting something to happen.

M Keleshite Sor 1 (610 XP)

I am very sad to have to post this.

Some of you may have noticed that I have not been posting much during the past month or two, and not paying strict attention to others' posts when I do. During that time, a slew of factors have been turning up in my life, conspiring to prevent me from logging onto paizo.com, or spending much time on it when I do. Therefore, I have decided to quit all PBPs in which I've been participating. Please believe me when I say that I'm not happy about this, and that I haven't made this decision on a whim.

robin seems afraid that we are bored and want the game to stop. I hope that it doesn't. I'll never forget the time when the party was charmed and I was the only one who made the saving throw, and it was up to me to save the party. I'll treasure that memory.

Perhaps someone else can play my character until he can be neatly written out. Handle it however you like. I hope that the rest of you have a fun game. Maybe one day, my life will get back to normal and I'll check in to see how you're all doing in the game.

Until then, farewell.

That is bad news indeed . It was a pleasure to play with you . Don't worry , I'll play your character fir the coming fight ...

I know , I know Memo'ri . I do make too much ooc comment on the play forum . But I 'am never sure everyone is checking this forum daily

Heren , about your relative , just let me hope this is nothing too serious

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I'm bouncing this across the games that I am in. A handy Mapmaker that is actually free-ish.

Ye Old Mapmaker

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

As of the latest round (Tuesday) THIS is the map I have by my tracking.

The one in P4 gas actually moved to T10 but otherwise you are right

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

and the one in J-10 is down, but not out.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Corrected map going into round 4

Me'mori wrote:

Thanks!

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Holding on the result of Adjunta's action before posting, since it will determine what happens.

Me"mori , first let me tell you I am really grateful for all the works you are doing on the map

that being said , which summoned animal are you talkinh about ? If yu mean the giant ferret , he is in K10

Also the reason I'm using the old notation is if I am saying E4 in your map , that could mean 4 squares unless there is a way of doing this I'm unaware of ...

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I was preceding the notation with a 2 for the second section indicated.

so "X" would be the lettered column, and "2X" would be the other, blank column.

The numbers are easy, keep using the your listing, but the notations for the letters just take a bit of recitation as I count squares over and over.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

I hear you, Guy.. My Ray of enfeeblement hit w/7 Str drain had to get reposted, and changed to a miss.

I did see the 9, though. you posted 43sec after me.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Well, with things rapidly going south in the game, I figure we could discuss things about the game while we wait for the end.

I suppose it is still plausible for us to run away, though with the current positions of things, we would have to leave Heren behind, or lose two people.. We do not have to fight this out to the bitter end.

However, we were warned that this would probably end up a TPK, though if that is indeed the case (at it appears to be developing), how were we supposed to manage it in the first place?
