Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The guards go on 11, and I'm missing an initiative from Quick, but let's get the ball rolling.

With a roar Brock swings his axe at one of the unsuspecting guards, felling him like a log. A fire bolt from Hessiah sizzles through the air and hits the other guard, who winces in pain.

Let's see if Quick beats the guard to it.

Tom, are we inside or outside right now? If inside, approximate positions? Initiative 8 Ranged Touch Attack 20, Damage 6

"I guess we'll do it the easy way! We'll send 'em to the bone orchard!"

Quick lines up a shot at, getting within 30' if necessary, hoping to bring down the guard Hessiah has hurt. She blasts one of the guards squarely in the chest.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

You are still outside. I guess there won't be much need of exact positions as this fight looks to be nasty, brutish and short.

The guard draws his sword screams at the top of his lungs: "Help! Intruders". He lunges at Brock but misses. A bolt from Quick hits him squarely in the chest and the guard collapses in a heap.

I took the liberty of skipping over Waren, but it won't really affect the outcome. The question is: what do you do know? The doors aren't locked. You can drop out of initiative order, as I suspect you want to move in as a group.

"A bang-up job! Let's push into the church before they can raise any more alarms."

Quick will push through into the main room, dragging one of the unconscious guards by their heels into the room with her.

"Don't leave 'em hanging out there. We're puttin' a spoke in this wheel now!"

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare move near a guard
First Aid 12
Waren,help me ,please.

Brock Takes his Great Axe out of the poor guards mens chest and Smiles,

"they'll need more help then this!"

Brock moves into the temple past his companions towards the nearest guard, is there a map with the guards on the inside or no?

If Tom gives me co-ordinates, I can place the guards.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The double doors into the corridor are open and there are guards at P11 (longbow at the ready), N17 and Q22. State your positions and roll for initiative.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Guess I'm in 0N
init 22

Updated Map Here. I'll continue to update it as people give me their positions. Juliare, if you were helping stabilize the guards, you would be inside the room, not outside it. I moved you in, at the very least, one square. Now you are actually on the map. Quick's Initiative is 10

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

My interpretation is you tried to move one guard inside . But there were guards inside so the other one should still be outside . I may be wrong . Tom ?

Ah, I was hoping you would all help me drag them in. This tiny woman can't move both bodies, but she'll try. In that case, that's what she's doing this round. Leaving unconscious guards outside the entrance is a sure fire way to attract more attention than we want.

Robin :Thanks to you , I've this mental image of Quick saying with a cowboy drawl: I can drop anyone anytime just not anywhere :)

That's what Juliare would have done after stopping them bleeding but I doubt we had the time

I like the line. Quick may adopt it. If we don't hear from the others soon

Spoiler:

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

I presume that you all help to get the bodies out of sight and shut the doors. That's about what you'd have time to do before the guards appear and initiative starts. It would have to be a joint effort, though, so if you have other plans, we'll have to rewind and do it all in initiative order.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

personally , I'll try to stabilize the guards in case they are not dead yet but yes we'll get them inside and close the doors

Juliare wrote:

No problem, but you'll have to spend your action stabilizing the guards, since things are moving quite fast now (in-game, that is).

I think we've been abandoned. Tom, this setting is interesting, and I've been following the other game with interest. I guess I'll just keep reading there. I know you just added a halfling woman, but if she mysteriously vanishes and you are looking for another one, count Quick in.

Same here Tom .
Insert shameless plug : I have also started a PbP as DM if any of you want to come

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

I'll give everyone a day to respond. The other party is full at the moment, but I think you have some interesting characters going and should things fall apart I think we can go on with two or three characters if you're interested. And of course, should there be an opening in the other party (God forbid) you're first in line.

robin, thanks for the offer and I did consider it, but I'll be working full time come January and don't want to commit to something I might not be able to keep up.

I thought I had to wait my intuitive was 2, so I was waiting to see what happened, but whats going on is this game dead? I think I would post way more if the other posters other then quick and robin posted because I mean my character was made to be kinda dumb even though hes not I guess I could change that and be a leader type guy but whats going on?

Those initiatives and placements were merely suggestions to keep the game moving. It's not really viable to run three absent characters, however, so I didn't act on them.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Let's see if we can get this game back on track, then, shall we?

State your positions (anywhere reasonably near the entrance) and then xdahnx can put you on his excellent map and roll for initiative. The guards go on 10, so if you can beat that, you can post an action too.

Map is here. Quick's Initiative is 10.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

*grumble* post eaten by board *grumble*

Juliare drops the closest guard with an expertly placed arrow, while Brock rushes ahead to confront the other two.

Waren and Quick might want to change their actions and I'm still waiting for an initiative count from Hessiah.

The two other guards draw their bows and fire ineffectually at Brock, moving to O17 and P17 respectively.

I'll wait to see what Waren, Quick and Hessiah does. Then it is Juliare and Brock.

Quick shuffles her little feet. Seeing the guard fall gives her hope, that is, until she sees the others move in to replace him, bows at the ready.

She launches herself behind the door, hoping to play a game of cat and mouse.

"Watch those arrows!", she cries, peering around the door.

I didn't post an action above, so I'll do this now. Double move to Q10. New Map Here.

Having problem accessing IC; Rolling dice. Init 19+6= 25; Ranged Touch Attack 14+2= 16; Damage 1

A ball of fire forms in Hessiah's right hand. He hurls it at the nearest enemy.

Black Tom, please place Hessiah at L1.

Hessiah, you are too far away. The closest enemy is already down. The next ones are about 85ft away. Your spell has a range of 25ft. Please find the updated map here.

Just reserve the attack roll for the next round.

Hessiah wrote:

Given the actual positions and respective numbers, I don't think the guards will approach us

Brock sprints down the corridor as fast as he can and charges the man on 011. Brocks eyes focus and the air leaves his lungs as he brings down the great axe as hard as he can on the guard.

Attack: 1d20+6=21

Damage: 1d20+6=13

Good luck guys, I hope we make it out alive!

Brock, that's the same guy that's already been knocked unconscious. I turned him sideways to represent that. Sorry, I should have explained. You all keep beating on the guy. There are only guards in O and P 17. If you double move, you can get right in front of the guards at O or P 16.

Yeah then I will double move and get the guy on O, sorry about that...

Brock Brightmore wrote:

Also it was Hessiah , Quick and Waren turn then the baddies

Please only act if it's your turn as the situation can change

Quick, Brock and Waren close to engage the guards while Hessiah holds back. The guards fire an arrow each at Brock, and one grazes his thigh for 4 points of damage.

Please post your next action.

Quick moves to P14, and summons Spark as a wolf in O18, hedging in the archers. Critical hit and confirmation for a total of 9 damage.

Hearing Brock groan in pain, Quick ambles down the hallway to meet with their foes. Summoning Spark behind the archers, he takes a nasty bite out of the guard in front of Brock. Shaking the poor man, Spark inflicts more damage upon the guard.

New Map Here.

Brock whistles through his teeth as a pain sears his thigh, and smiles as he closes on the man who caused the pain. "Axe beats ARROW!" He yells as he wildly swings his Great Axe down and pushes forward with a fast charge. -4 to armor class at the moment for charge

Attack 1d20+6=15

Damage 1d20+6=11

Oh I'm hitting the guy on O I been running to last round at a full charge, which gives me the penalty to my armor class and plus two to my to hit.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare move to O7 and fires at the guard not engaged (still in melee yet )
He is too careful and his arrow goes wide

Hessiah, you're up. Then I'll run Waren, and then the guard goes.

Hessiah delays his action and waits for Brock to lead the way.He will then follow, firing off spells at the enemy.

So do I post again or do I wait?

Please wait. You've already posted an action for this round. We'll have to wait for confirmation from Black Tom, but I believe you felled a guard. Also, guys, we are on the offensive here. The guards are not coming to us. We have to go to them. Hessiah, you've delayed doing anything for three rounds now. We need you. Warenhari is also not going to stay back any longer.

Po the Dire Rat scurries across the floor to bite the guard. He manages to inflict a small wound in his leg, possibly spreading his infection to the man.

Warenhari brandishes his shortspear, and approaches the lone guard, waving it about wildly. His lack of skill in the weapon is apparent.

New Map Here. I even added litle x's to the fallen guards to make it clear.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Thanks for picking up the pieces that I dropped, xdahnx. Have a hero point for now as a token of my gratitude.

The guard drops at Spark's and Po's combined assault, leaving the corridor empty of enemies. But there may be more about so please keep your initiatives.

Quick and Spark are up, then Juliare. Hessiah is welcome to act at any time.

Move to N16. Free action to speak. Move action to open the door for the others. Spark readies an action to charge at the first enemy he sees.

Sliding across the floor, Quick whispers to the group;
"Good job everyone! Let's be careful. When we were here last, Kanto was through these doors. We'd do best to take her out quickly. I can't imagine these thugs will stick around to fight for nothing."

She slides the door open, ushering the others in.

Spark emits a low growl, and hunches down as the door slides open, ready to pounce for half a reason.

New Map Here

Brock waits till the door opens to move ready to charge the next guard on sight.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The door to the temple opens, revealing a cabal of priests. Elan Kanto is standing at the top of the ziggurat at H16, flanked by a young man and woman in clerical robes at J15 and J18. A middle-aged warrior type man with a short dark beard is approaching the doors at K17, bastard sword drawn and a grim expression on his face. All are wearing armor.

New initiatives: Priests 4, Warrior 12.

Hessiah and Juliare are up.
