Dwarves treat Appraise as class skill when determining the price of nonmagical goods containing precious metals or gems, while elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Appraise skill checks made to identify magic items.
Since the dwarven ability is useless for those classes that already have Appraise as a class skill, why not change the Dwarven Greed ability to parallel the elven ability?
Greed: Dwarves receive a +2 racial bonus on Appraise skill checks made to determine the price of nonmagical goods that contain precious metals and gemstones.

dwarves already get enough- give them nothing more. In fact take stuff away!
I generously give you this lock of hair from my own magnificent beard, you poor starved beardless thing, you. When you get older, you will be able to grow hair in other places, too, never fear.
Now go eat a sammich or something. A strong wind could push you over lassie!
Uh, it is lassie, right? No offense, sometimes I can't tell.

I agree with the OP... and with the fact that most elves could do with a sammich or two and better gender-identifying clothing...

Jason you are becoming an issue... we would have to send Merisiel to meet you and treat you the way she treats all issues (i do like the idea of her solving everything with knives... it shows creativity on her part :P)![](/WebObjects/Frameworks/Ajax.framework/WebServerResources/wait30.gif)

Oh poor little flower.... Get ye back to your fluffy bunny herding and when the big bad turns up remember its always the Dwarves in the front line sacrificing their lives so you can flutter about your weedy gardens and perform bad street theatre and interpretive dance.

Actually, I heard that elves always paint the picture with darker colours and then send the dwarves in first to be slaughtered by the hundred, even if with a little tactic, half a dozen halflings could have resolved the situation with as much success. And then, everyone has a good laugh at the gritsuckers' expense.

more halfling in the frontlines to dieleave the dwarves for the next wave so they take the enemy so sick of killing halfing that they would do an easier job, and do not complain aboput being sacrificed for the good of their betters...

i am unable to recall, but if halfling blood was spilled... then there is the need to ask for more :P
Read Steven Brust. The Tekla are his equivalent of halflings. In one battle, Morrolan (a particularly bloodthirsty noble) is reputed to have killed a thousand of them with his sword Blackwand.

Don't waste my time dribbling meaningless excuses about your lack of courage.
Montalve go back to your flower arranging or poodle grooming. Tell you what you can write a Haiku for me about how spineless you chicken legged, skinny hipped, tree hugging, flower eating, hairless, girlyboys are.
I'm assuming that your human Teach, judging by the smell of unreliability, inconsistency, potential betrayal and that pathetic bit of fluff hanging off your chin you think is a beard. Do not speak again until your betters give you permission.
I am not complaining just grumbling. You do not want to see me complain.......

watch your words little man... hidding in your sheltered mountain, fearful to show your face to the skies... i would fill you of arrows before you would beable to reach me... of course its not cowardice is boredom on how long you will take to reach the point of my sword.... with that and your blood i would write a haiku on how lowly dwarves should not mess with the bussiness of who their betters are....
the halflings issue... is just that an issue... dwarves love to go to the forefront and die.. why then should we stop them? let them... i will a requiem for the brave sacrifice and lost lives...
but they are doing no one a favor (except of course of throwing themselves ehad first)... they love to martirize themself so they have something to feel worthy about...
recurring to base insults to try to lower us to their base level... how unworthy of the one who says his raceis so noble and worthy... so much lack of vision...
so grumbler the dwarf have anything to say? or you will keep barking?

Def. Courage: Glorified recklessness and lack of common sense.
I'm assuming that your human Teach, judging by the smell
Or, rather, lack of smell.
And of course I'm human. I'm educated. Something we humans often manage in 20-30 years, but which certain stubby races never attain even after hundreds of years.
And intelligence also plays a role. It enables you to learn from your mistakes, so you don't have to repeat them. That's why we humans thrive. Few of us have ancestries that read like: "Rolf Stonebeard, died in kobold ambush; Father: Krulg Ironaxe, died in kobold ambush; Father: Torg Metalhammer, died in kobold ambush........"
Of course, the bogged-down races call this "inconsistency". They don't understand that doing something in a certain way just because it has always been done that way isn't a good idea - especially if it hasn't worked well that way to begin with.
That's why we don't care for tradition and rule the world.
