You don't think Peyton Manning is a premier draw for the NFL? I think all you need to look at is all the advertising he does.
Oh, he is a draw. But I was coming from the angle of them "taking him out". When you've been in the NFL as long as he has, and taken the hits he has, every tackle you take is a big risk. But even if he were to stop playing tomorrow, he'd still be a big draw for the NFL, just not as big as when being a player.
Gotta say, I look forward to seeing him play in Denver. Should be interesting to see how that team improves with such an awesome player.

Yeah, I know it was hockey. I was just messing with you. And yes, they did have some kind of hockey team down there. It was very popular for awhile. Not sure what ever happened to it.

I am not looking forward to the possibilty of playing that team but I won't mind watching him play and more than likely if healthy he will do alot ot help that team move to the next level.
I am looking forward to crushing the Colts this year again. As I doubt Andrew Luck will make a huge difference this year.
I am also looking forward to watching the Patriots play and they look like they have gotten better on offense and we'll see what they do in the draft and another year of the at defense gelling and watching Brandon Spikes giving them a nasty edge.
Ah football season can't come soon enough.

I personally think that the Manning brothers are two of the better QBs ever to play the game, right up there with Montana, Favre, Marino, Elway, Brees, and (yes) Brady, among others.
I'm patient about the football season starting. While I think the Saints will do well enough, my big concern is college ball.
I'm still pissed at LSU for blowing the National Championship against Bama. Not sure if I even want to watch their games, and I'm usually loving me some college ball all around. Still, I look forward to the SEC most likely continuing its dominance. So there's at least something to look forward to.

Not a fan of SEC football (grew up in Virginia so I favor the Hokies), but I was praying LSU would stomp the stuffings out of the Roll Tide and you're right, they just blew it. A couple of years ago, when the Hokies blew the Orange Bowl, I stopping sporting their shirts and jersey for a year. Felt stupid, but I did it just because.
Been a Colts fan for 40+ years, so naturally I was bummed that Peyton couldn't finish his career in Indy. Was hoping he would land with Arizona or San Fran. Not a huge Denver fan, but will still support him. I'm definitely a fan of the Manning family, and yes, Aber, as a boy I was fan of that ol' Saints QB Archie Manning.
Was tickled pink to see Eli get his second Super Bowl win over the Patsies. I was dreading ESPN coverage for the Spring and how much ball-licking Brady was gonna get for being the "greatest QB ever" - the nausea in Chris Collingsworthless' voice as the Patsies failed on that last drive, made my football season!

I'll more than likely end up watching any LSU games that come on, simply because many of them ARE broadcast. Even when they're making me frustrated, I usually enjoy watching.

I've often thought that Eli gets too many knocks for not being Peyton. While Peyton's throwing is more accurate, I think Eli might be slightly better at analyzing the field while it's in play. Either way, though, I also enjoyed seeing him get his second ring. And that was a very good super bowl. Those close ones usually are, in my opinion.
Close Superbowls are always a fun game to watch. The blow-out Superbowls become Adbowls.
Granted, a good Adbowl is also a lot of fun, doing something else until the next run of ads come on the air. Some times you see an ad that is never repeated, often times the ads aired during the Adbowls are the only time that ad will be shown at full length until perhaps about late November or early December.

3. I can't believe anyone would ever support the Saints again. Unless perhaps there was some real penance going on. Everyone in the organization fired. Appeals dropped. Full-page ad from owner apologizing and committing to do the right thing, etc.
Winning shouldn't be prioritized over integrity.
Edit: Maybe not everyone in the organization should be fired...I'm sure the team accountant is probably innocent. But fire anyone who heard anything like this and who didn't speak up in some way, to include coaches and players.

The object of the game is to win,
For me personally, that's only my third priority for any sport or game (to include D&D). #1 is represent my organization and/or myself with class. #2 is to try to maximize the fun for both my team and the other team. Saints fail on 1 and 2. (Not that my priorities should be theirs.)

Its too bad that more people don't think like you (in society in general!) but in pro sports (and probably at the college and high school levels) winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.
I was at a JV softball game the other day and we were short a player, so the other team donated a player to play right field for us. The other team's pitcher was playing lights out (we were playing against a home-schooled team, which is always tough). The only two hits we got against her were from the donated player! lol. So she broke up her no-hitter and then added one more for good measure, going 2 for 2.
That's probably one of the better examples of winning not being everything...when you are actually trying to defeat your own team. :)

I can, and will support the team again. I've supported the team most of my life, and won't stop now just because a few players/coaches were foolish enough to offer and/or accept money for injuries. Otherwise, it's just rough/aggressive play, which is usually encouraged as a path to victory.

Or is it only okay to lack integrity if nobody notices?

Of course not. That's an idiotic analogy. I prefer to live in the real world. Integrity doesn't always put food on the table. People in business make sacrifices all the time to get ahead and/or succeed. Sometimes that might be giving up a bit of what other people may see as integrity. If they don't want to do that, then they shouldn't be there. I'm not saying it's right. I'm saying that's the way it is.
