My sister sends me these; I've watched every episode. I love it.
I thought it would be goofy, but it's actually a pretty serious show with some decent comic relief. The sfx are pretty good for an ITV program, too.
I really liked Ryan's character, but they wrote him out very well. I thought it was very tasteful to simply fade away and then fade in to the cemetery.
The clones of the merc at the end was a nice touch to close out the season. At first I hated Cutter's wife, but now I love to hate her.
Awesome show. I can't wait for January and series 3.

Hmmph. Primeval is one of those shows I think I watch in the hope that somehow, somewhere, they will actually pull a good idea out of the aether. Occasionally they manage a twist (such as where the sabre-tooth tiger was coming from) that does not not disappoint, but most of the 'secret conspiracy' related story lines in the second season were waaaaay over the top. I think I prefered season one, which was free of such distractions.

I preferred season one as well (although the lack of engineers and physicists to investigate anomaly detection was a major omission). However, you can see why they took the turn they did for season two. In season one they had realised that pre-historic animals were just animals and a Police firearms squad can if necessary apply sufficient kinetic energy to kill them just like anything else. This meant that season one had covered just about as much as you could interestingly say about the early days of an under-resourced ad-hoc unit in a realistic way. Then it becomes "get in the physicists/engineers to work on detection" (which is difficult to make into exciting TV) and after that it's rapid-response pest control. As I say, I preferred Season one but it ended at about the right time and Season two needed to be essentially a different program.

Finally, I get what you guys were talking about. Oliver and his gang seem pretty cool and having a mammoth rampageing on the M-25 makes containment really hard this time. Lester getting a chance to play with guns was a great touch, I always knew he was more than a desk jockey. Season finale next week. I hope they go out with a bang.

No, it's not. Series 3 just started in the UK ...and the British Embassy in Seoul :-)

Mildly curious about it, here in the UK, but not very excited.
At some point in Season 2 Primeval dropped into a zone (for me) somewhere between a serious drama and a Adam West/Burt Ward style 'Batman' with villains with insane agendas that only made sense in the loosest terms, but where at least you weren't watching it for anything other than the over-the-top humour. I wish Primeval would be either the one or the other, since apparently when it trys to do both it fails. ITV recently made the 'Demons' series which I feel did mix the two successfully, and which I am eagerly looking forward to the second season of, whenever that arrives.

Darn. You got me excited.

I enjoyed the first two series, but the series 3 opener was pretty lame, in my opinion, and I didn't tune in for the second episode. It was almost like they completely forgot about all the cool stuff they set-up in the series 2 finale, but I suppose they decided it was better to try and grab up first-time viewers who might otherwise be confused by a episode picking up with the finale's close.
