Paizo is already selling 4E stuff on this very site, in any event. They will also cheerfully sell this new retro 3.5 system to PATHFINDER fans and those who can be freed from the PATH of 4E that we'll FIND on the major bookstore shelves for years to come.

Wait, never mind - I've GOT it; the new name should be:** spoiler omitted **
This allows an infinite number of revisions without ever needing new editions! 3.1 -> 3.14 -> 3.141 -> 3.141592653589793238 etc. Joy of Pi

Had enough yet? I've downloaded it all and bought the Beta 2 Playtest hard copy already. See you in the design forum!

great!

do we keep 3.0 magic then?

I would call it Dungeon Legacy.

I'd call it "Buscasenderos"... :P

Dark Archive

The only thing I would rename it as would be......

"The World's Most Popular Role Playing Game, Pathfinder"

Has a nice ring to it.

I think the name is perfect. The awareness of the bad viking movie is very low within my circle - there's no danger of anyone making that mistake.
Same in my group. If they have heard of it or even saw it, they have already forgotten about it because it was so bad (or repressed their memory of it). I don't think people will confuse Pathfinder RPG with the movie in a few years, as no one will remember it or at least they won't even care.

I like Pathfinder because it reminds me of a cool Viking movie with the same name. :)

At least the name sets up other names.

Paizo is releasing a RPG hued teaching tool for gamer kids called Mathfinder next year. I think we should all support them in this daring venture.

They also designed smallish dragons and demon lords made of cheese for use with their new Pathfondue -- Cauldron 'o Cheese kit.

Mmm.. My cholesterol levels are gonna go through the roof!

Scarab Sages

If I could rename it?

I would call it Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 3rd Edition.

Failing that, Jal Dorak's Roleplaying Game that Everyone Must Pay Him For.

I like that.

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2009 Top 8

I would call it PathFinder because when you capitalize a letter in the middle of a word, it is cool and hip and the kids like it.

...

EDIT: Correction. I was just informed that capitalizing a letter in the middle of a word is not cool or hip and the kids do not like it.

Change your screen name to Tarrendei then, just to be cool.

I'm along with the mode of thought that Pathfinder could also more subtly represent the way your characters morals sojourn in play, over time?

We brave few do whatever me must to support our hobby.

Pathfinder is perfectly fine IMO.

Trailblazers is a fairly large Travel agent brand here in the UK.

Of course, I think "Tigger is fantastic, lets give him all our money" is *the* ideal name for a game....

Are we starting over? If so...

Battlements & Bugbears

I'll stick with Paths & Phasms ...

But that 'Buscanderos' did sound very very nice... though I lose the picture of warriors in shining metal armors going through a dungeon and instead get some guys with mustaches and sombreros hacking their way through bushes with a butcher's knife...

Make that a Machete!

Tarrasques and Tunnels
Phoenixes and Fumbles
Bludgeons and Flagons
Atlases and Armbands
Orcs and Oerth
Drakes and D20
My Big Fat Greek RPG (400+ pages for a single book)

Paths and Perils and Dungeon Legacy both have a nice ring to them

I think Pathfinder is a fine name overall though. I would prefer D&D but what are you going to do, hey maybe things will go well and Paizo can buy out WOTC one day like WOTC did to TSR...

Then we could play D&D 5th edition, aka Pathfinder 2nd ed. I just hope it would be an OGL system.
