R.I.P. George. You were one of the greats. The world has truly lost a fantastic talent.

As warped and twisted as it was, George's humor affected a lot of my formative thinking . . .

Plus, my dad looks just like him.

Truly one of the greats! A fantastic mind, brilliant humor, and a style that had an appeal across generations...

George, you will be missed.

He's a part of history.

God I will miss him. A link to one of his best bits: Stuff

I'll catch the other 6, Bill...

Amen,

Though it sucks p!ss that your are gone, we sure as f#ck won't let the memory of the sh*t you stood for fade. You were an awesome c*nt who had a profound influence on my younger life.

You were t*ts, you magnificient c*cks*cker!!

I already miss you.

a sad day. He was a master with words that I have quoted often in my life. Two of my particular favorites are the difference between baseball and football, and the difference between irony and coincidence.

one of the best.

He's with Joe Pesci now.

Thanks, George.

Go give god what for!

I just read about it a little while ago. I hate this.... :(

RIP George - you will be missed.

In memory of George Carlin, my all-time favorite comedian, I will be angry instead of sad.

I just saw this as I was walking through the airport. Holy s%$*! What a f!~+ing loss. America has lost one of its true sons. Welcome to the decline.

*cries on the inside*

You will be missed George..or..ge..or..ge..or..ge...

As I said on another board:

Carlin's father was an award winning orator, so choosing the right words was vital in his home, growing up. With once cutting edge stand-up comedians like Pryor and Carlin gone, their inheriting peers seem more like show biz than art to me.

The Pre 90's HBO specials were funnier to me than the later stuff, and Class Clown was a great comedy record.

I'll miss you George.
I have his TV show on video tape somewhere...

I need to find a new place for my stuff.

That, Sir, is obviously not stuff... what you have there is sh!t. I can tell, because it's not my stuff.

Thanks, George.

I dunno. You sure he's not stuck on some roof somewhere yelling "Who the hell's going to get me down from this g***amn place?!?" As a devout frisbeetarian, I'm sure that's where someone would go.

Now the world is filled with lazy non-creative souls and the last hope for mankind has left us......Rest in peace friend....Now you can really watch us as we screw things up.

Funny is funny, and you, George Carlin, were FUNNY.

Everybody drop a couple of those seven dirty words today in George's honor.

Liberty's Edge

He was funny when he did crude commentary on everyday life.
Unfortunately he decided to become a self-loathing angry old white man, and became a physical manifestation of a diatribe soliloquy.
Still, he was funny once upon a time.

I'm a big fan of self-loathing angry old white men. It's why I listen to Rollins.
