Has anyone given any thought to Golarion-based collections of short fiction? Perhaps short stories could be written based on the various iconics, or even themed by location (i.e. "Tales from Korvosa"). That way several authors could be featured and Paizo could solicit the voices they (or possibly the fans) would most like to hear without having to commit to a full novel.
Trust me, that one's been on the table for a while. :) Where it might come in the grand plan of Pathfinder fiction, however, we don't quite know - it's a simple fact that novels tend to sell better than short story collections these days, and it's important to hit hard with Pathfinder fiction right out of the gate if we want it to succeed. That said, anything's possible! And as you can tell by the fact that Elaine's working with us, any Pathfinder fiction we do going forward - whether in novel form, short stories, or serialized - is going to be of the highest possible caliber. We may take our time, but we're sure as hell going to do it right. :)
I can safely say, without hyperbole, that this Pathfinder fiction stuff is the most personally exciting project I've ever worked on at Paizo. So please, enjoy the end (for now!) of Eando's cycle and Elaine's 6-part novella, and by the time you're done with those and ready for more, I promise we'll have something equally cool waiting...

I hope that we get some subtitles for the various PF Journal entries. Such that the first 18 volumes would comprise the "Pathfinder's Journal: Eando Kline" and Elaine's would have their own name. Then, when the novels come out, they can be released under the Pathfinder's Journal product line, and each have their own title, thus tying the serialized works that already exist or are on their way to the novels.

Elaine's series will have its own title, aside from just "Pathfinder's Journal."

Actually keeping the Journal Title separate from the novel line might be a very smart move.
I personally love the "Realms of..." books for the Forgotten Realms and the "Tales of.." books for Dragonlance.
If you keep the Journal title off the novels, it can be reused for future anthology books.. or even an anthology book of collected Journal entries.

Oh yes - the Pathfinder's Journal refers specifically to the serialized Pathfinder fiction in each volume of Pathfinder. The novels would/will be called something different.

I really hope Elaine Cunningham gets to write Golarion novels... lots of them. Same goes for Ed Greenwood, who I hope has been considered for such endeavours as well. Man, what would I give to be part of the Paizo team that brings Elaine or Ed Pathfinder novels! too bad my day-job has an engineering/consulting/management bent, and that the only writing I've ever produced was terse, technical, and concise-to-death in nature... (but hey, I got to slip in the word "heretofore" in one of last week's reports! LOL!)
