I agree. In my Comprehensive Race Thoughts post I note that halflings should get taste - in fact, I didn't know that was a change from 1/1.1, it just seemes to me like they should as they love their foody pleasures (and pipeweed, and...).
And half-orcs seem like they should get... Actually, sound and smell now that I think about it. I proposed sight and sound in my post but I've changed my mind after mulling it over; orcs have that hard to see in sunlight thing going on. It fits their slightly bestial nature (their writeup notes pointy ears) and has a "Wolverine" feel to it. And the default orc feat in the SRD is Alertness, so there's a good precedent for them having decent perception.
