"Well that's hardly fair, everything goes well with garum sauce."
It was the ketchup of it's time. Worcestershire sauce is the closest we got in the West these days but the Romans used this in everything.
...and you can still buy the real deal.
Oddly enough, while Worcestershire sauce is a direct descendant of Roman garum, it's significantly more pungent due to the addition of spices. I've heard that the flavor is closer to dark soy sauce.

Just sort of winging it, dont really know how 'message delivery system' works in Sigil. But Im presuming a fairly sherlock-esque method of boys will deliver the note for you as long as there is money waiting for them at the end?
And presuming that Renkar uses them enough that they wont try anything 'funny' on us?
I can't believe I haven;t thought of this before. Even writing about Justin hiking all over Sigil is exhausting! ;P

There’s actually a pretty robust message-running service that employs many of the street urchins of Sigil. It is based out of several temples of Hermes, and goes by the name the Lightning Messenger Guild. I’m certain Darroth would seek one out, or considering the gold you offered, he might run it there himself, as it’s only an hour away by foot

Okay quick side question for side quest stuff is it okay for other characters to follow/tag along just Merle is already kind of suspicious of Justin and I could see her trying to follow (Mostly to give a piece of her mind?)
Of course if it's preferd not to have that happen Merle could just be distracted by stuff at the silver rose.

Patrick Curtin |

Oh by all means! I would highly doubt that Justin can accomplish this task solo. If no one wants to go with him I was going to find some NPCs to go with. But PCs are fine.
Also, you all have three days to do whatever you please. You can make your own adventure in Sigil, or just say you nap and eat pie at the Copper Cauldron for three days.

LOL! Oh yeah, THAT would be (another) classic!
Yeah, In- character, Justin didn't want to ask for help, (especially after his recent 'contract' fiasco) ;P
BUT,... I (and he) really don't want him trying this 'lil side trip' SOLO either! O_o
he can either beg, I mean ASK for help, or the overly curious ones can just barge in and ask 'so, where we goin'?' ;P

Ragadolf |

Ooooooo,....
Justin needs to think about this, not talk his way into (more) trouble.
:)
Of course, knowing THIS group, they'll all be up for lil' adventure and 'damsel' rescue. (DON'T let her hear you call her that!)
But this isn't a Rose job, Justin will have to ask them.
The opportunities for RP in this scenario are gonna be fun,... :)

Will update tonight, been withdrawing from most games I participate in but I will remain in this one.

Cool! Yes, Hamar is such a good mix of Warrior and Wisdom.
(Like Conan, if he'd had Yoda as a teacher?) ;P

OK< so If I'm reading this right,
"Ubiquitous Wayfarer" is probably in Sigil, easy enough, Insert coin in specific door,...
Takes one to 'The False Castle' (Wherever that is) where you go to it's neighbor 'The Black Pyramid'. Go to washroom and stab yourself in heart with Ghost Dagger. (Maybe/hope those first two places are just Pubs?!?) ;P
Goes to 'Pyramid of the Dead', (wherever THAT is?) go to Top and jump off holding feather, (hopefully a group can all jump holding hands?) Hopefully THIS pyramid doesn't have too many undead. Or they'll let us pass as long as we dont touch nuthin'? O_o
Arrive at Peak of Arbental, NOW we get interesting. Have to survive the VERY cold, (Not sure if 1st lvl Endure elements will work for this?) and find the Tomb of the Ice King. Touch iron cube (makes sense now that I have some background info!) :) to go to,...
Avalas! Arrive in a cavern in one of the planes giant Cubes where the 'bad guys' hideout is. (At least we won't be on the SURFACE, playing ping-pong with other cubes!) But I suppose that our specific bad guys will not be the caverns only inhabitants(?!?)
After THAT it's just sneak in to the secret hideout, grab the girl, and walk out. Easy-peezy! :D
Yeah. Justin's asking for help.
STARTING with outright asking Memnon and Renkar what he'll need just to survive the trip! (He's walked himself into enough trouble for now, thank you!) ;P
THEN he's asking his friends if they would like to go on a little jaunt.
They can keep any loot they come across. (Not expecting a big haul, but high-quality bad-guys usually have something worth keeping) ;P Justin's just going to get his friend out.

So, how’s this:
If someone wants to come with, they say here, and then we move that action to the side quest thread.
Then, I will fill in the holes with some interesting NPCs (Maybe Michael could come, or the Black tears, or someone else someone knows)
In the main thread I will assume that the action only took three days (I can handwaive things and say time passed differently if things drag out. We can get it to work) and you all will be headed off to Erelhi-Cinlu (Otherwise known time is grognards as the Vault of the Drow). This I’ll get started up by the end of the week.

Ragadolf |

Oh , and one side quest will be shopping for those magical long Johns. You are correct, endure elements is like wearing a windbreaker during a polar vortex in Minnesota ....
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
THIS, is why I learned to stop drinking things while reading these posts! :) (Even non-alcoholic things)
And also, this is why I LUV these particular threads.
Thx Pat, I needed that laugh! (That image will be forever burned into my brain during this trek now) ;P
(FOr some reason, I read 'Polar Vortex' and keep seeing a polar BEAR in a windbreaker, during a snow storm of course.) ;P

One good thing about Planescape, you can always say that any time difference is between the worlds we were traipsing across. :)

OK I'm mentally done for tonight. Sorry.
(I feel like I'm trying to write all clever and it's coming out like bad children's book) ;P
I think I'm a teensy stressed about work, got a lot going on in the next few days, (University classes start back next Monday) and I'M in 'charge' of safety/cleaning/ etc for our building.
(I'm 'Safety Coordinator' for our building, BUT that usually just involves filling out papers 3-4 times a year, and maybe an accident report if some dummy slips and falls. NOW it means that SC is in 'charge' of the safety vs Covid. I aint trained/paid enough for this!) ;P
Night all, see you tomorrow! :)

Patrick Curtin |

Ugh. That sounds terrible. Sorry they dumped that on you.
Speaking of dumped, my life has gotten more crazy (yet again). Wickedness never rests, and we paladins of the law are always swinging away at the pyramid scheme Kobolds.
I have a lot of ambitious storylines for the two threads, and I’m excited to go into the Fall with them.
Everyone- just like me I Know you are busy but it seems awfully quiet lately. Give me a shout if you are good to go and indicate if you want to go on Justin’s Hellride, or skip it and just move on to Erelhi-Cinlu

Ragadolf |

Thx for the kind words (I'M sorry they dumped it on me too!) ;P
But mostly its just not. knowing. what. will. happen. tomorrow.
Stupid rules change every day.
Just need to get my head back in the groove.
(Been warming up the next chapter(s) of the journal. THAT should help me!) :)
UGH! speaking of wicked, the pyramid-scheme kobolds sound,... diabolical.
(Do NOT Give Marconi any ideas! Wizard is in deep enough!) ;P
(Naw,... Marconi has more taste and style. He wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near a pyramid scheme.) ;P

David M Mallon wrote:I'm interested, but it's been extremely difficult trying to figure out reasons why my character would be interested.Well, let’s see. Alessia is motivated by revenge. Perhaps by hunting undead she seeks clues to the whereabouts of Acererak?
That works, I'll write something up.

David M Mallon |

"Sooooo,... Anyone up for, what did Renkar call it? A 'Hellride'?"
Also, any time I hear the word "hellride," I can't not think of my man Wesley Willis.
