Davi, if Fabes isn't hip, you want the spot?

It's hip to be square... duh, duh, duh duh duh duh

Sorry, I read this and suddenly Huey Lewis was suddenly bouncing around my head...

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Actually Davi, if Fabes is interested, and you are too, I'm sure we can squeeze you in. I liked your Mr. Squire character over in James' PbP.

I'm conflicted, really. On one hand, I really do want to play Swire again. On the other hand, I don't want to dishonor the memory of James' pbp. (No offense meant, but everything in that pbp just seemed to gel together in exactly the right way.)

No worries. If you wanted to make an entirely different type of character, the group could use a fighter-type. If you're not interested that's cool as well.

Did Fabes show any interest?

He still hasn't responded. (I assume because it's nowhere near his turn in combat).

Also, you know what, nothing ventured nothing gained, I'll give Swire another shot. Now, if you excuse me I need to go read the entire game thread.

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

Hello!

I would be interested!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Excellent! Stat up a character, 4th level high fantasy points, anyone remember what starting gold was?

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

What rules is it at this point? 3.5, Alpha, Beta, Gammaray ;D

I had this weird idea of playing an unfettered or runethane from Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed book; don't know if that would be too complicated or not.

Beta, last time I checked. On a side note, I just remembered I did mine in 32 Point Buy, 3.5 Version. Should I redo them, or is it close enough?

EDIT: Since I realized that there's no way I reading 90+ pages of game, can I get a quick summary of what happened in said 90+ pages?

Starting Gold was 6,000gp.

And it is BETA Version (I'm asssuming we'll convert to PFRPG in August/September sometime).
Welcome aboard guys. :)

I'm pretty sure we came to the conclusion they're about the same. And yes, Beta for now, then full Pathfinder later on if the group wants to switch. Numbers and mechanics aren't my core concern.

Hmm, I don't have that book, but I could pick the PDF up come payday, how hard is it for you to make and just fill me in on the details?

If you want, Here's a decent compilation of the classes in it, among other things.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Thanks Davi! From a quick peruse they look doable, I'll have to investigate further. Anyone out there have any reason why Fabes shouldn't play either of those classes? Unbalancing issues or the like? I like to let folks do what they want, but I don't want others to think they're getting outclassed.

As far as I can tell, those two classes are the ones that mix the best with regular D&D.

Oh, and can someone please try to summarize what you've actually done in this game? As I said before, there's no way I'm reading this entire thread.

Hey, Pat - am I still on as the heal-bot? The first concept I was thinking about was an Athasian human cleric of fire; is that OK? If so, would you prefer I use the standard PFRPG human, or can I use the Dark Sun version presented in Dragon 319 (+1 level adj).

EDIT - I also have a back-up concept, incase you'd rather not have the Dark Sun connection ...

You are on for healbot Bryan. Dark Sun is fine, I think I have the box set in my storage files, I'll take a look. The Dragon 319 version would probably be best..

Well, right now they are solving a groovy mystery in the Hive. I wouldn't worry too much about the 'backstory' as your character wouldn't know much about it anyway.

I don't know that I'd worry about the +1 LA. I think that come PFRPG that they will do away with the +1 LAs and drop them to zeros.

Also, I can't see the Unearthed Arcana races/classes being any more powerful than my Harpy Racial Levels...

Well, you're my go-to guy on the crunch Flash, so I'll accede to your wisdom ..

Welcome to the party guys!

It's always good to have more people for the mage to hide behind,... er ,... assist with his spells! ;P

Yeah we're PFRPG BETA 'officially' I think. And I've perused MOnte Cook's stuff (Don't remember any of it offhand, but I remember thinking it was cool!)

I'm not afraid of being overpowered by anyone,... (except maybe by our warlock's blast! sheesh!) ;) Give me a couple of more Feats where even fire resistant creatures still take dmg from my fire spells, and I'll be smiling ALL day! :D

Yeah this is going to be fun with all the new folks. Now, just how to gather you all together ...hmmm ..

I noticed you guys already have a harpy. Lemme know when you have an opening for a werewolf. Thanks.

Davi, you might want to make a 'snapshot' of Swire as he is in case James ever revitalizes his game. I'd hate to tread on his toes.

I wonder how the werewolf will be treated in Pathfinder.

Thanks for reminding me about that. I put them some alias I never use, should anyone be unduly curious or if I forget I put them there.

What sort of character does the group need? I saw mention of someone who can hit hard.

Human Ranger - Favoured Terrain (Urban) sounds good.

So that will give us:

Duskblade (Karrin)
2x Rangers (Isaac & Fabes' Character)
Warlock/Hexblade (Drazek)
Wizard (Justin)
Sorcerer (Merle)
Bard (Bethany)
Psionicist (Nari)
Rogue (Swire)
Cleric (Bryan's Character)

A well rounded group if ever I saw one! :)

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

I did think Paladin but I'm not sure that would fit with some of the shadier group members.

I'm loath to play a fighter because... well, let's say I'm one of those people who think they're still not getting the love they deserve.

How are we doing hit points per level? Average or rolling? And additional hp at first level - which option are we using?

Could be a Brarbarian who's actually just a realllyy mean drunk.

I think we did Double for 1st level then Standard if I remember correctly.

Rules spoiler:

Spoiler:
Standard: Maximum hit points [per level] plus your
Constitution modifier and any other bonuses.
Double: Double your maximum hit points for 1st level plus
your Constitution modifier and any other bonuses.

Thanks!

I may be offline for a week or so (moving house!) so I will work on the character offline.

I will go with the ranger.

Spoiler:
As Mr Swire is a Cage-bred knight of the post, do you want me to have him come in with a secret or do you want to play straight up?Email me at Spamreef[at]hotmail[dot]com

Bryan:

Spoiler:
I know Athas is supposed to be cut off from the Great Wheel, but I can say some weird occurance tossed you into Sigil if you wish. Otherwise do you have any background in particular you wish to incorporate? Email me at spamreef[at]hotmail[dot]com

Have Fun FAbes! (AS much fun as you CAN have moving at least!) ;P

Well, for most intents and purposes my sheet is once again done.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Time compressed tonite, discuss your actions and I will advance the story and write in the newcomers tomorrow morning

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

All I've got so far is that he's a Human Ranger, native to Sigil, called Ishmael, and he's a namer in the Xaositects.

Super adventure-ruining possible spoiler for Patrick

Spoiler:
It looks like there are elements of The Eternal Boundary in the mix. I know that adventure really well, so I will try not to use player knowledge to an egregious degree. I did think that perhaps Ishmael could know or work for Mordigaarz Antill (if he's in your version of the adventure).

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Fabes:

Spoiler:
They have already run across Mordrigaarz earlier (and managed not to get in a fight) You can be from his gang of allies, as Xaosmen there really isn't a defined hierarchy, but Mordrigaarz has taken the madhouse District as his balliwick, and is strong enough to attract a posse of chums.
