I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

That's awesome! :D

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Tomorrow night may be working til 10 p.m. so might not be around too much. Have a feeling we might be able to hit it hard and fast though; maybe 8 p.m. Don't know yet.

NOW IN TECHNICOLOR!

I got the Mwangi jungle book. I like it a lot.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Nice. I've been thinking about getting that one myself. What's in it?

Also, this weekend we went and saw Toy Story III and Jonah Hex. The Toy Story movie was excellent, highly recommended for anyone. I liked Jonah Hex myself, but there's probably no need to shell out hard-earned money to see it in the theatre.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on....

it's got a few monsters; nothing groundbreaking; some teaser races for future bestiary stuff in the back of AP's; lotsa cities and "lost jungle cities" which I really tweak on.
Little talk about adventuring in the jungle; perils and hazards therein.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Hey, having RL issues once again. Will try and keep up, but as a default, just have Pip strum his +3 Inspire courage and provide the soundtracks for any battles. Assume he keeps close to Oso in case of needed healage.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on; good luck!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Book of Eli is awesome.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Maybe. I sorta agree, but the plot twists seemed a bit forced to me. But, man, was it gorgeously filmed. If they ever make a Fallout movie, that's what it should look like.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Yeah; I can see that.
I was just tweaking on the whole Shogun Assassin/Lone Wolf and Cub homage that it was.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Oh, absolutely. My five copper pieces:

Spoiler:
One change is needed: Either

A) Keep the book, but make Gary Oldman's character a bit less ridiculous, and all of a sudden you have a real post-apocalyptic classic. I could live with the other stuff, but he was just a bad villain for the original book.

Or

B) Change the book and keep Ol' Gary the way he is. If the book was, say, some sorta engineering manual, his behaviour becomes much more understandable, and he suddenly becomes a much better villain.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I guess my favorite thing...

Spoiler:
straight up. lawful good. paladin. there it is; watch the movie and you've got it down.

(lol) Oldman's always a freak. He's done lots better movies. I guess his main reason for his power base is he knows stuff.....kinda tenuous in a violent world, but there it is. He wouldn't make it as an orc chieftan. The guy he played in the Professional, or in True Romance (heh heh giving me idears) would've made it as an orc chieftan, but not this dink butt. Too bad Chris Walken wasn't available.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

re: Children of Men:

Spoiler:
my favorite part was when she told him "there was no father...I'm a virgin..." and he bought it hook line and sinker.
The whole premise, though, of "no children born" I had trouble buying; it was corny.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Spoiler:
But what about the Gary Oldman from The Fifth Element? ;P

Christopher Walken would have bee a great villain - that part calls for a big and rugged, yet smart character. And, well, Gary's only one of those three...

On my side, Just a note to let all know that I will be traveling on a family visit this week. I may have occasional internet access, but nothing consistent. If so I will post when able.

I should be back to 'normal' by next Sat, or Sun at latest.

Have a happy 4th!

~Rags

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Right on, dude; have a good time!

The Exchange

Happy Fourth of July to my American Cousins. Have a great celebration, chaps.

Cheers

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Thanks! We got lotsa rain last night, which is extremely abnormal for Texas, but the fireworks went on.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

No fireworks here in Arizona - instead we'll just have a barbecue and hang out in the pool all day. I know, it's terrible...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Sounds.....relaxing.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

No (non-municipal) fireworks here in the Peoples Repbulic of Massachusetts either. Spending the day doing laundry, weeding vegetables, linseed oiling a few tools, and nostalgically playing with my minis.

The Exchange

No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30

Away for a couple of days - back Wednesday.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Damn. While I was showering at the gym today, a big bodybuilder type walks in with a giant DC Comics logo tattooed over his chest. Now that is a true fanboi.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

HOLY S@%*!

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

That's what I thought - he was far too big to actually say anything. :§

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I hate musclenerds.
They didn't get f!@*ed with.

I don’t know Vatters, going to the gym? What sort of geek are you? ;-)

Sorry about the slow posting ... I am getting flayed at work this week.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

I'm not much of a weightlifter, but I go swimming every day. With the temperatures here reaching 40C+ most days, it feels rather good. :D

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Hellz yeah; it's a production to bring my kids, but a swim's a good thing.

Damn. A Howard the Duck reference.

Which brings back this. Darn you! Darn you to heck!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I try to pretend that movie never happened.

;)

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Speaking of movies - any thoughts on this? I'm sure it'll be better than Howard The Duck, but which movies aren't?

Wow. I'm excited about the possibilities for that movie!. IF they don't sc@w it up. As they usually do. I guess it all depends on who gets ahold of it?

BTW- I shall be absent this weekend myself. I have the opportunity to attend Mechacon (Anime Convention) in New Orleans this weekend. (Fri-Sun, July 16-18) So I shall be out of touch till Sunday night. At the earliest. Monday Morning at the latest.

I'm going to participate in the 2nd of 6 planned mega-scenarios for Star Wars (scenarios planned over 6 years, Both RPG and Minis!)

Wish me luck! :D

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Good luck!

I've never been to a RPG con - I went to tabletop wargaming conventions instead - so I'd like some feedback from the "con-ness" as well.

Yeah; I can't wait.

The concept stuff I've seen here and there is awesome.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

No cons for me either.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

I went to a few back in the day, end of high school, start of university. Had some fun, but really just went there to play a few games, never really got into the whole atmosphere. And never tried organised play (I think Living Ravensbluff was a big one at that time) just a few one offs at cons here and there. Did quite well, I think I still have some rpg related trophies somewhere about.

The Exchange

I enjoy Cons alot but two kids and the rest mean that this weekend is my one Con away all year. Its going to be fun and meeting mates I only see at Cons is a great way to catch up. Some of them I have known for over a decade now.
But now that GenconUK is defunct, there isn't really a big con like in the US. I've been to the US one in Milwaukee once and it was a marvellous memory. Spent a small fortune on figures and stuff at the auction (which ran all four days solid).

My trophies are in the garage gathering dust like most of my gaming folders and books.

Cheers

Just came home after seeing Inception, and it was one of the most amazing things I've seen in years and years. My favourite Christopher Nolan production, well ahead of Memento, Insomnia and those Batman movies. See it!

We also saw Despicable Me in 3D last weekend. Fun movie, and great for kids.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Yeah; I wanna see Inception. Looks really cool.

This doesn't sound good (unless a gold meteorite is about to land in our back yard). Too many elder evils in fantasy space, not to mention spelljammers full of giffs.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Naah; I was just making fun of my own lack of understanding of physics on one of JJ's comments on facebook.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Now I guess there's moon succubi as well.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Huh. I missed that post.

EDIT: Ooooh.... Solar winds, eh?

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

I wasn't all that impressed with myself.

Grand Lodge

Is the moon succubus a separate species, or is it just a succubus that happens to live on the moon? Inquiring minds need to know!
