Can you stack natural armor and armor bonus?

Yup. But I think you already have a NA amulet +2, so upgrading that'll be expensive.

Don't forget you got a Buckler +2 sometime back. It doesn't help you when you use two-handed weapons, but it'll add +3 to your AC when you go one-handed.

Your armour is only +1. With your money, you can trade it in for a set of Full plate +4. If you have anything left, get a pair of DEX +2 gloves and improve your AC and your initiative.

i have an amulet of health.

Ring of protection +2, +1 plate, torc of displacement.

I was thinking to upgrade my armor and grab a natural armor thingy.

I doubt I'll use the buckler, that hammer two handed is WAY TOO tempting to set aside.

ok,
first, I have to upgrade to PFrpg ruleset, (not a big deal, but I'm short at least a feat!)

THEN I need to up TWO lvls! (I never did set it down on paper last time)

THEN I'm going shopping! Thinking of upgrading the armor, especially as I'll need to ditch my Amulet of Nat armor if I want a Amulet of Mighty Fists! With all the gold I got, plus all I had left over, I can maybe get one that gives me flame and frost! (Or lightning. A Dire bear/Wolf with flaming/sparking claws and fangs will look pretty darn scary, dontcha' think?!?) ;D

<sigh> NOW I just have to actually DO it! Sheesh,... The one part of this game I hate,... paperwork,... and math,... ;P

(lol) benadryl used to make me groggy for an hour, then I'd be wired and unable to sleep. Apparently now it puts me down for the count.

I was driving in an suv with the window down; my windshield spacked a cloud of honeybees, and apparently one of them flew in my window and said, "you killed my sisters! Now I will disembowel myself to sting you and make your hand hurt for three days! That will teach you to accidently kill my peeps!!!!"

Honeybees are so stupid.

I had digger wasps in my army foxhole once - the kind that both stings and bites (they dig by chewing earth). I think I drove my shovel into their nest as I was making some improvements, which made them very upset... Stupid insects.

I saw Clash of the titans yesterday - it probably wasn't great art, but I thought it was fun and a massive improvement on the original (which, face it, is about as bad as movies get). Some cool monsters, a fun supporting cast and nice special effects.

Having said that, I still wonder what suddenly made Sam Worthington such a hot action commodity. Two hours well wasted, in my opinion.

Liberty's Edge

Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5

I'm going to see it in half an hour.

Liberty's Edge

Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5

Pretty good. It wasn't going to win no Oscars.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Well, Braveheart won a Best Picture award... I thought it deserved a Best Photography award, but best picture? Not so much.

Not that I think Clash of the titans deserves any Oscars. But worse movies have won quite a few of them.

Liberty's Edge

It beat Apollo 13 and Babe.

Spoiler:
watching the movie, I was like "hmmm....Altai wants some scorpion trucks now.

The funniest thing is that I was just about to write something to that effect.

I'd disagree with that. It wasn't the best Harryhausen but it was still OK. But I'm looking forward to seeing this too. And the giant scorpions in the original doubtless had an impact on me and the Eberron game.

If I had seen the original as a kid, I'm sure I'd have loved it, but I was in my mid-twenties - I think I saw it at a "terrible fantasy doubleheader" with Highlander II or Zardoz... These days, I mainly remember Lou Ferrigno and that dumb owl.

Liberty's Edge

I saw it in 8th grade, so......

Heheh, I can't remember EXACTLY when I saw it, but it was near my senior year of HIgh school , or freshman year of college.

Either way, I thought it was awesome! Harryhausen at his finest!

(Whether it really was or not, I do not care to debate, Just sayin' I liked it when it came out! And I wasn't too young at the time!)

;P

I should probably go back and see the original again. Or maybe not.

I've been very cultured this weekend. We went to a play called Son of the sheik on Thursday (a musical farce loosely based on a 1920s silent movie starring Rudolph Vaentino; fun stuff - you know a play's not too serious when the main baddie is named "Sheik Yerbouti"). Then Clash of the titans on Saturday and Swedish crime drama The girl with the dragon tattoo today (excellent movie, highly recommended despite the iffy title). Good times!

Yeah, I enjoyed the book (although it took me a while to get into it), and I’ve heard the movie is quite good (although its a long book with lots of ‘research’ bits that I wonder how they will translate to screen – also, I wonder how they handled the bondage anal rape scene and its follow up).

Heathansson wrote:

Me too, I can barely remember a thing about it though, so I can't comment.

I am pretty mindless sometimes (see Ninja Assassin comments) so I figure I'm probably going to dig the new one.

Wow, I just got the book in the mail from my bro.

Nothing like a good bondage anal rape scene.

I got the dvd of CoTT.

I got Lovecraft Unbound; it has authors doing HPL stuff, including a short story by Michael Chabon.

I thought it was very well done (then again, I'm a grad student who, by definition, enjoys research). The rape scene managed to be both really gross and quite understated. The casting of that guy is a stroke of genius - he's such an utterly loathsome sleazebag.

The title annoys me, though - the Swedish title is Men who hate women, and it just works a lot better. Of course, the female lead has some badass tattoos, but still...

‘Men who hate women’ doesn’t sound quite as catchy, and you could see it getting some big feminist backlash simply based on the title ... but yeah, I agree it’s probably a better fit – particularly given that Lisbeth, whilst certainly a central character, does not seem to be the main character or focus of the book, and her dragon tattoo does not seem to be any more prominent or significant (at least in the book) than any of the others.

Heh. I have been making it a point to collect all of the old movies that I used to love so much, (All of the Sinbad movies, Krull, Clash of the Titans, Dragonslayer, The Dark Crystal, The Labyrinth, Ladyhawke, Willow, etc.) As I watch them now, I definitely do not see them in the same way that I used to, but I see what I saw at the time. (You cannot compare [special effects] from ANY movie from 80's or before to ANY movie available today. You just can't. [It's not fair to the original] ;P)

BUT the trip down memory lane is always fun. And some of them are still fun to watch. Or introduce my kids too and watch their faces. :)

CUlture! Hah! I like the sound of the play! A good farce is usually an Oxymoron. LIke Jumbo Shrimp. (Or Military Intelligence.) But that sounds good! The Swedish Crime Drama,... Not so much. As much as I might like to discuss a good anal rape scene, I have to admit the thought of actually having to watch it,... meh. Not so much.
(Besides, I have such an overactive imagination that I doubt they could make the film as graphic as my mind could!) :P

At least your taking in a variety of culture this weekend. I am stuck in Louisiana. And while the DO have culture here, the locals idea of 'cultural variety' is both a fiddle AND a guitar at the local concert! :)

(Just kidding. MOstly.) ;P We do actually have a decent Arts support group locally, and a variety of shows do come through here. Not that I ever get a chance to go and see them,... ;P

I'm back and ready to look at a DnD book again. But its going to take a day or two to catch up because it is half-term and my son is getting a touch more demanding.

BTW I saw Clash in 3D on Saturday night and it was hard not to duck when a scorpion sting is aimed for your face. Saw the original two nights on the trot so I guess I prefer that one. But this one had some decent moments in it, I thought Hades was well done, Ralph Fiennes seemed to be enjoying himself.

Cheers

I'm reading The lies of Locke Lamora - I'm about halfway in, and it is flat-out amazing. Highly recommended for anyone.

Just WIKI'd it and read some reviews. Looks interesting.

Yes, it is good, but so far a bit of a one-off. The sequel is alright but not as good. But the Lies is of itself brilliant.

Well I got a postcard of it once. And I'm thinking Stig's gear is even bigger. PLus it has a chicken.

Um,... OMG, I think I just found the feat I REALLY want Elgan to have!
From one of the FR sourcebooks, (Came across this reference, I don't know which book, I copied this):

Greenbound summoner: All of your creatures summoned by a Summon Natures Ally spells gain the Greenbound template.

The greenbound template:-

Spoiler:

Type becomes plant (so no crits, mind affecting, or polymorphing..)
NA improves by 6
Gains a slam attack
(Sp) at will - entangle, pass without trace, speak with plants. 1/day - wall of thorns
DR 10/magic and slashing
Fast healing 3
+4 grapple bonus
Resistance to electricity and cold 10
Tremorsense 60'
Str +6, Dex +2, Con +4, Cha+4
+16 to hide and move silently in forested areas
(CR +2, LA+8)

The feat is on page 8, the Greenbound template on page 173-175

So, it looks a little too powerful to me, seems it has no prerequisites, and all those extra powers, YIKES!
So, what do you say oh most magnificent GM? Can I Has? CAN I? Can I? Can I? Can I?

Just finished it. Great book, even though I was sorta rooting for the villain. I'll have to get the second one as well - even a so-so book set in that world should be pretty cool.

I agreee! I have to admit, it is a little TOO good. WOuld be a great feat for a druid to have, just needs a few prereqs to make a 'general' feat. As it is, you can take at first level! Can you imagine being able to summon a 1st lvl critter that can summon a wall of thorns?!?

What do you think Vatt? (Or anyone else) Spell Focus: COnjuration, and maybe enhanced summoning (or what ever it is called,) as prereqs, then you can take it as is?

Heheh, sokay, thx!

Tell you what, I'll keep spell focus: conjuration (although for druids it doesn't do much, makes the summons a little harder to dispel is about all, since they don't really have any conjuration/attack spells) as a 'pre-req', and swap out the feat I just took for Greenbound summoning!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It's all good I reckon.
