We saw Salt and the new Robin Hood movie with Russell Crowe this week. Salt's kinda cool and completely ridiculous - worth a look, but probably not at a full-price theatre. Robin Hood was OK, but could in all seriousness have used more action and less gummy dialogue. Fortunately, we saw it as a discount theatre.

This is a tough one but I have to cut down on the number of games I am in in time for looking after two kids when my wife returns to work in three weeks time. Eleventh level spell casters demand alot more time than I will be able to afford soon.
You guys have been great and it's been a pleasure to play at such rarified levels with you. Maybe things will change in a years time when my son starts school next autumn, who knows? Perhaps the plane shifting Oso could return then if needs be.
I'd rather let you know in advance so that you get a suitable replacement in. I'll never forget the remorhaz, or so many other moments.
Cheers

Bummer, dude.
If you get more time, man, hit me up; I'll prolly have room.

That's a shame, Wolfy. Hopefully I'll hang in there with our new arrival. Best of luck.
The first 8 weeks are hell until they cut that "eating every two hours" crap out and sleep half the night. You'll get there, but the first 8 weeks are a b@$$&.

So.....a question to the group...we're down to six; I guess somebody could play Oso for a while til this rakshasa romp is over; he can get you to Asgard and then split up with you at that point...
do we walna advertise for another player, or roll with 6 guys? I'm good with whatever.

![]() |

I think we'll be fine with 6 players, especially if some retooling happens when we get our clammy tentacles on the APG. Elgan is a capable healer, and Pip can back him up.
I'm recovering from a root canal earlier today. I'm drooling and mumbling like a stroke victim, but at least the drugs make me feel sorta OK. More dentinstry-related fun coming up on Friday. Awesome! :§

Ragadolf |

Hey Frenchie! I'll be sorry to see you go! But I'm glad it's for a good reason! ;)
As per what to do next, I can start playing Elgan as primary healer instead of a Dire-bear-brawler-backup. But while I don't think that Oso can be replaced, I would understand if you wanted an actual Cleric instead of a druid! ;P (ALthough he has the feat that gives him the switch-spell-for-heal just as a cleric.) :D
Either way;'s good with me. I just hope that Oso can return in a year or so! :)

owell.
I tend toward giants, demons, and undead.
never enough oozes. I just can't.....relate to oozes.
For obvious reasons I play that way as well - I might not go for the explicit viking flavour, but most of my games have a distinct Northern European feel to it. Go with what you know, and all that...
The only monsters I really don't like are incorporeal creatures. I'm fine with spirits and that sort of creatures, but if they are on a different plane, they can't affect this one. Oh, and I hate vampires. Always have, always will. The hysteria around the Twilight movies certainly didn't help.

Well it probably makes more sense for you than me actually ... when I say northern European though it’s probably not quite accurate, I am talking not just Scandinavian and Russian and such, but basically most of Europe, perhaps steering away from a lot of the ancient Greek stuff. I cherry pick from this and that mythology and story.
Vampires crop up as villains and monsters in quite a lot of my games, but I agree, Twilight just seems bleeergh (have to admit to being a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan though). But I try to steer away from the more modern interpretations of vampires and go for more original Bram Stoker style, or Nosferatu, or feral, corpse eating ghoul-wolf type vampires.
I like incorporeal creatures, but I try to use them sparingly as they can be frustrating to players. What don’t you like about them Vatts?

Aubrey - if you want me to stop taking the occasional turn for Gittik, just say so. I was just thinking you were kinda busy on the homefront and we were getting into a groove...
Please feel free to continue. I'm not up to date with what is going on and am struggling to get the Eberron encounter up - I'm either too busy or too tired to get the stats together. So I'm very happy for you to keep him ticking over.
I wasn't particularly aware of my necrophiliac tendencies. I think it has been more of a function of the types of games I have been DM'ing - Blood of Vol and the Skinsaw elements of RotRL. I suppose the Blood of Vol thing was down to me (I dig liches - um, I mean I like the concept - well, anyway) but was also, to some extent, just a random thought which blossomed into a whole campaign theme. Right, to keep things fresh, no more undead - the Blood of Vol is in fact a front for an evil flumph overlord. Certainly, the giant-y element of RotRL will be revealing itself (indeed, probably already has) big-time from pretty much now on.

I've always been a big fan of the Greek mythology. I have been since about second grade when I discovered that section of the school library.
I don't think (much, i mean,... um nevermind) that I have a particular favorite set of monsters. I like all of the old (by that I mean B/W movie versions, and some of the remakes) of the classic monsters. Frankenstein, Dracula, the mummy, Werewolf, etc.
I agree with Moth, I'm a big Buffy/Angel fan, even though THAT particular variation on the vamp was different, it was cool and (I thought) well thought out. The latest 'glittering vamp' craze has me baffled. ;P
One thing I ALWAYS have in plenty when I game is magic. Magic users, magic using monsters, etc. I just luvs the magic! :)

Yeah. I am also a big Buffyhead. As I'm sure you noticed Rags when I dropped Caritas into Sigil, LOL.
Me and my wife even tried to find Andy Hallet's (Lorne from Angel) gravesite. No luck yet, but we have a few left to scour.

It's probably a combination of my general dislike of level/ability drain and a 'you are either there or you're not' attitude towards monsters. I have no problems with, say, phase spiders popping in and out of the ethereal plane, but the notion that something on another plane can touch you and you can't touch it back annoys me. If anything, incorporeality should be a two-way street.
Having said that, I don't use a lot of undead beyond skeletons, zombies anf ghoulish things, so it's not really a big deal.

Ragadolf |

And Ray Harryhausen, of course. His Jason and the Argonauts may not be faithful, but it sure influenced me. Actually, that probably explains my skeleton fetish.
BIG +1 and 1/2! ;)
Harryhausen was the George Lucas of his day. I can't think of a single movie of his (That I've seen at any rate) That I didn't like and would gladly watch again! (And again, and maybe again,...)
;)

Wow. That IS some quality history writing!
If MY teacher had let us read THAT, I would have been an A+ history student!Where/HOW do you FIND this stuff?!? ;P
I just remembered there was a Cracked magazine article entitled "5 real life badass soldiers that make Rambo look like a pussy," and it snowballed from there.
I was....bopping around the idea of.....people....who legitemately belonged in Valhalla; trying to "get in character" as it were, brainstorming, that sorta thing.
