Uh, yeah, Heathy did it. Certainly not me. No sir. I would never do something like that.

*Hides slip of paper saying 'I prepared Especially Explosive Runes this morning'*

Actually Heath isn't house trained, he once pooped in my slipper.

Ah-ha! I thought so! I'm calling the pound!

I think a shorter list would be one naming the Paizoians who aren't strange.

Let's see there's...

Hmm...

Oh yeah!

This normal guy who likes to work out...

And this typical commuter...

And then there's your everyday average Scandinavian.

All three are currently logged onto Paizo. Be very afraid.

I am very, very afraid.

Is that first picture doctored?

I don't know it to be doctored. But I'm pretty sure that guy isn't a doctor. I doubt he even has one. Looks more of a vet man to me.

Liberty's Edge

He looks like Thrud the Barbarian from White Dwarf in the 80's.

How did barbarians ever get their lil man panties on over their bluefin tuna thighs before the advent of spandex?

Is it still true that there hasn't been a single instance in the archaeological record of Vikings posessing horned helmets? Some opera propmaster thought it up back in the 1800s or sumpin.

I saw the movie Pathfinder on cable last week, and though the action was watchable it throws a likely L'anse aux Meadows scenario out the window in preference of depicting every Norseman as Darth Genocidepants.

Grand Lodge

I'd say there were no horned helmets, given that horns serve as weapon-catchers and are thus both dangerous and stupid. That Warhammer Chaos Warrior look might be cool, but somewhat unpractical.

Have you seen the original Pathfinder? It was nominated for an Oscar (best foreign-language film) back in the late 1980s or so. It's actually not half bad, which is unusual for a Norwegian movie.

I did indeed, back in the late 80's. Loved it. It was a little slice of something different. When the newest Pathfinder film came out, and the legendary magazine, I thought back to that film.

Yes. However, there have been a couple (seriously, like, two) of 'horned' helmets found that were either Frankish or Saxon. I'm not sure where, though.

Most Viking helmets looked like this, like this, or like this.

The Norse got pwned in Vinland.

I know that the '06 movie was based on a Christopher Shy graphic novel, so was the Norwegian film the inspiration for the book, and therefore the newer film, or are we confusing our Viking movies?

Depending on how little that whip is; might not even rate the title; perhaps you just have a quirt :)

Nice to see Ultradan has posted again; hehe his avatar is downright strange and more than a bit bothersome, but his posts are always cool.

Hmmm....yes it is small. It's more like a crop.

:)

I just looked at pictures of a quirt and it appears to be a lot more flexible than a crop. So "Smack"!

Okay. Time to thin the herd.

Spoiler:
I prepared Explosive Runes this morning.

Hey Valegrim, I missed this post. Sorry about that, wasn't trying to ignore you. A thousand apologies....what can I do to make it up to you?

Oh, a quirt makes sort of a shhhmacking sound (with a lower pitch sound to it) as opposed to "Smack", which is a higher pitched more precise sound. So there....Naa naa nie boo boo!

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one
Oh no

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling people their desire
Asmodeus's sitting there, he's smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please God's help me

Is it the end, my friend?
Asmodeus's coming 'round the bend
people running 'cause they're scared
The people better go and beware
No, no, please, no

Keraptis what have you done...I see the black dots... so many among the dead

Liberty's Edge

What the f!%& are the black dots? Is this some sort of pirate suicide pact?

Really, mine are pink triangles.

I think it marks places you've recently posted.

Or its part of some Satanic ritual to end all of mankind in a fiery apocolypse. Could be that too.

No, it's Heathy.

He never was house-trained.
