Curse of the Crimson Throne

I was just watching Reign of Fire on TV. Reading that Korvosa is somehow inspired by London (location of the movie's showdown and origin of all the draconic evil in the world) and all the pictures on the screen reminding me of some I have seen minutes before on my notebook's screen on Paizo's latest blog entry, there is a question forming in my mouth I will get rid off with my fingertips. Furthermore I have read the information on the various modules of CotCTAP and learned from it that a big old dragon will get some major time on the grit, so I do now ask my question: is Reign of Fire crimson flavored?...

I beg a pardon: ...flavoured?

Huh. I never once consciously thought of that movie while writing Guide to Korvosa, but from what you've said there I can see where you might think so...

It was just coincidence that I just saw the pictures on the blog and minutes later the movie on TV. But funny you saw parallels as well. :)

Of course... the dragons in Korvosa are mostly pseudodragons, so it's more like Mini-Reign of Fire...

Yes, of course. But it is exactly this thing with the pseudos that creates the impression. Right before the final confrontation with the big male dragon in RoF there is this picture with the hundreds small females and the bull flying over London, reminded me of Castle Korvosa and the many many pseudos. BTW what are they fighting?

From the second picture, I'd say the likely opponents are imps and devil binders.

Sounds logic!^^ Thanks. :)

Poor pseudos. :(

Yeah. There's a big clash between imps and pseudodragons in Korvosa.

And from the art, you might think that Korvosa has imp vs. pseudodragon battles every day. That's not really the case, but it sure makes for some dynamic art. ^_^

Every other Tuesday? ^_^

"Hey, what are you doing Tuesday?"

- "Watching the fight! Want to join us?"

Far better than sitting there and watching TV! :P

I'm telling ya.. Paizo gets a Buffulo Wild Wings franchise in Korsovo ('cause Tuesday is .25 cent wing night) and it'll pay for itself and that 4th Edition License!

Hey McArtor, whatchya drinkin'? First round is on me!

Hmm... Buffalo Wild Wings franchise with a special localized sauce made from thileu bark (a local Korvosan favorite)...

I think you're onto something.

So, if I may translate the war between pseudodragon and imp into German (my mother tongue) it would be McDonalds vs. Burger King?

Shouldn't that be "tiny clash filling a cube 10 feet on a side between imps and pseudodragons"?

Imps are tiny (swarms of small creatures aren't possible under the core rules), and a swarm is always 10 x 10 (x 10 for flying creatures), the only difference is that a swarm of smaller critters has more critters in it (and a flying swarm has more members than a swarm of crawly beasties)

But there was the mob-template in a Shacklede City adventure in beloved Dungeon. IIRC it was Foundation of Flame! This one could work.

so two swarms would fill a 20x20 (x20 for flight) or can they meld together to fill he same 10x10?

That would be 20 x 10 (x 10 for flight). For them to occupy 20 x 20 x 20, there would have to be 8 swarms.
