Question: Are Greater / Lesser versions of items considered 1 item or two?

Liberty's Edge RPG Superstar 2008 Top 8

Using the example of Bracers of Archery, lesser and Bracers or Archery, greater:

For the purpose of this contest would these two items be considered 2 separate items or the same item scaled?

Example of a scaled item: Bracers of Armor +1 to +6.

Thank you.

Joseph

That's a good question, the SRD handles it both ways. In the example you use, it lists them separately. Yet with an item like the STRAND OF PRAYER BEADS it lists lesser, standard and greater all under 1 listing. That may be due to the fact that you can actually purchase a custom strand by selecting only the beads you want, but I'm not sure.

I prefer the latter example as it doesn't leave you following breadcrumbs to get to the complete description.

Silver Crusade

I'd say if you fit it into 200 words, it should be fine. Not that I'm official or anything.

Legendary Games, Necromancer Games

You can submit any wondrous item you want, as long as it fits in 200 words.

Just ask yourself: "Is this the item that will really show them I am an RPG Superstar."
