Male Elf (Crying Leaf) Transmuter 1

The elf seems quite put-off by Madame Mvashti's eccentric appearance, as it is quite a contrast between his own and his companions neatness. However, he does his best to conceal his reaction. He says, "Hello. My name is Talacyst." and bows, removing his hat. Straightening, Talacyst turns briefly to Etienne and Coppertop, thanking them for their hospitality. "Thank you again, and I certainly hope we can reunite at the Sundown ceremony." Talacyst awkwardly follows Caerival inside, with curiosity mixed with uncertainty on his face.

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop pauses just long enough to make a little small talk with Madame Mvashti and give her the rolls he brought for her before continuing in his role of guide. Coppertop takes a circuitous route back towards the church. He goes southeast down Market Street (pausing in front of the Rusty Dragon to marvel at the dragon on the roof and once again point out that it is a very fine establishment) before going up River Street and finally back to the church square.

Addressing Madame Mvashti, "I am pleased to meet you, Madame. My name is Etienne Nevar of the Holy Sepulcher of Light. Unfortunately, my time is limited and must soon return to the church. But we'll get a chance to get to know each other later, I'm sure."

Turning to Coppertop, "Let's go."

As Etienne and Coppertop approach the church, Etienne sees a man slumped against a tree. "Coppertop, that man over there. He might need some help. Let's go see to him."

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop follows Etienne towards the man by the tree.

"Stranger, are you alright?"

Madame Mvashti grabs ahold of the honeyed rolls which Coppertop has brought for her, and begins devouring them like a starving animal. Between mouthfuls she chats with Coppertop, inquiring about the weather, the festival, and his mother. When Etienne and Coppertop excuse themselves and depart, she calls after them with a friendly wave, "Say hello to your mother for me!" as she licks the sticky glaze off of her fingers.

As she shuts the door, her demeanor abruptly changes to a much more serious tone as she finally turns to Caerival. "So then. Tell Madame Mvashti vhat happens in Shank's Vood, yes?"

Male Human Druid 1

"Madam," Caerival bows deeply, "Shank's Wood appears to be in dire straights. First let me say that I have spent a few moons wandering it's great halls and marveling at it's groomed magnificence. I know not who the previous caretaker was or why I was called to this coastal sanctuary, but I am greatly humbled. The sounds of the sea and setting sun bask the land in majesty of no equal.

"I was forewarned that goblins were using the forest as their lair. Men unaccustomed to the patterns of life often find pursuit in thick woods daunting. Thus the foul little vermin have eluded any would-be justice. I have found their trails and located some of their camps. I have seen their passage to and fro. Alas, I have not confronted them since these vile monstrosities appear to be well supplied and even better armed!

"When the goblins grow restless they needlessly harm the woods and violate stone with despicable drawings. I clean and mend where I can, but something must be done.

"In desperation I ventured to neighboring Tickwood and spoke to Christabel. She encouraged me to seek you out for both advise and peace."

Caerival bows again, "Madam, forgive my impatience, but I often resort to tackling my anxiety harshly. To some extent I believe this is why I was asked to shepherd Shank's Wood through this trouble... How may I be of service to you?"

Gloam grows bored, wanders over to Talacyst and sniffs his leg.

Madame Mvashti listens carefully to Caerival's words, nodding thoughtfully throughout. When he has finished, she replies.

"Yes, yes. It is vell that you have come here this day, Caerival. I know Christabel of the Tickwood. I know others of your order as vell. Alvays lately I am receiving reports like yours. Goblins grow in number and boldness throughout this region. But I sense something in you, Caerival. A strength and an endurance, like the oak tree. You vill do vell in protecting Shank's Vood, I think. But...perhaps you are meant for even greater things yes? I have foreseen dark times, a storm on the horizon. It may be that you," Mvashti points at Caerival, "and you mage of the elves," she then turns to Talacyst for the first time, "vill have a role to play in the events as they unfold. It is not idle chance that you two have come to Sandpoint at this same time." She transfixes both Talacyst and Caerival with a hard stare, and pauses for several uncomfortable minutes.

Then, suddenly, she breaks into a wide grin, exposing her missing teeth. "But this is not a day for talk of trouble. Why do you linger here in the home of an old voman? There is festival today, is there not? Visit again soon, you both are velcome here. But for now, go in peace and enjoy."

Etienne, Detect Evil

Spoiler:
Etienne does not detect any evil aura from the young man lounging underneath the tree.

M Human Rogue/1st

Rel looks up at the two gentlemen standing before him, "Yes I am alright just shaking off the effects of last nights fun, thanks for asking" Rel says. Rel stands up and offers his hand to each of them. "I'm a traveller and wanderer by the name of Rel at my very first swallowtail festival! So what brings you two gentlemen to the festival might I ask?"

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop responds with a small smile and a slight nod of his head and says, “Nice to meet you Rel. I am Coppertop, resident of Sandpoint, and this is Brother-Initiate Etienne Nevar of the Holy Sepulcher of Light.” Coppertop, remembering his earlier offer to Father Zantus, hesitates a moment before adding, “Would you gentlemen like for me to fetch you some food and drink. It’s free.”

Male Human Druid 1

Caerival, sighs thoughtfully. He has a lot to consider...

The druid pauses and turns toward Talacyst to see if the elf is as surprised as he is. Caerival notices Gloam and tries to discern if the donkey rat is pestering the wizard.

Male Elf (Crying Leaf) Transmuter 1

Talacyst listens silently while Caerival speaks. His face, which was quite cheerful and excited while he was at the festival, turns grave and hard at the descriptions of goblins overrunning the forests. He stares at the floor, absent-mindedly petting Gloam's white fur.

Talacyst looks up as Madame Mvashti turns towards him. As she speaks, the elf is visibly stunned. He softly murmurs, his eyes are wide, and his mind is racing. Thoughts of great deeds, heroics, and legendary figures flash before him.
Caerival wrote:

Oh yes, he is!

For a moment, Talacyst's face breaks into a wide smile. He straightens up, looking at Madame Mvashti in an entirely different way than when he entered her home. Then Talacyst frowns slightly, his shoulders sagging. "Me? No, I think not, Madame. I am too weak, too fragile to even work in a workshop. Could someone like me really play a part in these times you speak of?" Talacyst looks at Madame Mvashti, a sad look, with a faint trace of hope, upon his features.

Etienne accepts Rel's gesture of peace, "Pleased to meet you, Rel. I suppose you came to see the town's magnificent cathedral."

Male Human Druid 1

"Talacyst, have you ever seen how frail a sapling is, bending this way and that with every breeze? Yet a mighty tree can withstand the worst Rovagug can rail against it! Given time, the sapling becomes the tree...I concur with Madam Mvashti. You have greatness in you and I am surely blessed to be able to share these times in your acquaintance."

Smiling Caerival bows and says "Madam, I hope to see you again soon. Shall I bring you anything next time?"

"Gloam, let's go see the swallowtail!"

Madame Mvashti nods her assent. "You speak wisely, Caerival. It is vell that your order has placed you in Shank's Vood. It is in good hands. Be of good hope, Elder Talacyst. The gods thrust the destiny of greatness upon those whom they will...sometimes the most surprising of all."

"A morsel to eat, and news of your Vood. This is enough for an old voman such as myself. Come again soon!"

With farewells exchanged, Caerival and Talacyst take their leave of Mvashti's home. With Gloam trailing behind, the pair make their way back to the bustling crowds of the central cathedral square. After a few moments, the two spy Etienne and Coppertop talking with a handsome young Varisian man who is reclining under a tree.

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop scans the crowd to see if his mother is still there. Catching sight of Caerival and Talacyst as they enter the square he gives them a wave. “I wonder what Gloam eats?” wonders Coppertop to himself, “I think I’ll go get him a carrot.” Coppertop ambles over to a nearby table that is loaded with a variety of bread, meat, cheese, fruit, and vegetable.

M Human Rogue/1st

"Some food would be wonderful Coppertop, that would be the perfect cure to my present condition" Rel says. "I'm here to see all the sites and sounds of this great festival Etienne, I have never been to Sandpoint before and I am very excited to have fun, but not as much fun as last night, my head still is a little fuzzy" saying with a big smile on Rel's face.

Male Human Druid 1

Careival wanders through town back toward the church in thoughtful silence.

Madam Mvashti wrote:

And then the druid sees Coppertop in the square over by a vegetable stand, waving cheerfully.

"Talacyst, Gloam and I are heading over for a snack. Can I interest you in anything? I'd appreciate the company..."

Madam Mvashti wrote:
"It may be that you, and you mage of the elves, vill have a role to play in the events as they unfold. It is not idle chance that you two have come to Sandpoint at this same time."

Caerival tries to remain chipper, but is also anxious to about the foreboding prospects for the future. Eh, maybe I'll gather these hardier folks and clear Shank's Wood, he thinks to himself.

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop gathers food and drink for his new friends. He spends his time enjoying their company (he ask the occasional question but spends most of the time just listening), lending a helping hand to those who need it, and dancing with the Alvertin twins. The few times he dances he makes the most of it. Laughing and smiling he dances with wild abandon. The highlight for him is when he dances with Aneka and Arika at the same time. He smiles so wide he thinks his face is going to break.

The elf says softly, "You are wise, Caerival, and you are right to look to nature for guidance." Talacyst seems thoughtful and contemplative as he thanks Madame Mvashti and leaves her home.

Privately, the mage's mind is racing with recent developments. "With time, Caerival said... I have had my share of time. Thirteen decades I have lived, and still I must wait. Of course, my grandfather lived to be nearly four times that age. Once more, I must wait and see how things play out it seems."

As the elf reenters the festive square, he smiles and returns to a cheery mood. He laughs at the wild dancing that has begun throughout the crowd, and for a moment is content to simply watch the people.

Caerival wrote:

"Ah, certainly my friend! I haven't eaten since I arrived in town! I generally don't eat much, but some vegetables or fruit, perhaps. I would be happy to join you." As he speaks, the mage notices Coppertop standing a short ways away. "I see we have met our friends once more! Good evening, Coppertop! How goes your festing?"

M Human Rogue/1st

Rel enjoys the food provided by Coppertop and the other festivities. Watching Coppertop try and dance is very amusing to Rel but he just smiles and is glad his new friend is having such a wonderful night. Luckly for Coppertop the twins are not Rel's type or he might not have got to dance so much with them.

Rel notices the two new comers and introduces himself to each"Hello there, I'm Rel, traveller and wanderer" offering his hand to each in turn.

"Thank you, Coppertop, for the food," as Etienne receives the food offered by Coppertop. Etienne then takes a moment of intone a prayer to his patron deity before eating the food:

"We thank you for the abundance of your bounty and guide us in the path of righteousness for the fulfillment of your glory, Amen"

Male Human Druid 1

"Rel Pais, well met, I am Caerival, druid of Shank's Wood. I think most of us are at Master Coppertop's mercy, having just arrived in his lovely city. And what a fortuitous day indeed. I believe the swallowtails should be released soon!"

Gloam and Caerival both munch on rather brilliant carrots procured by the young cleric.

"Masters Caerival and Talacyst, you've met Master Rel here."

Speaking directly to Master Caerival, "How did your meeting with Madame Mvashti go, if you don't mind my asking?"

Male Human Druid 1
Etienne Nevar wrote:
"How did your meeting with Madame Mvashti go, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Not at all. Madame Mvashti lives up to her reputation...often those with an uncommon Gift cannot easily relieve the commonalty of their burdens. However, I feel through my time with her I recieved a benison of dire import and count my present company a comfort." Caerival scans his new found friends and bows. "For now, let us celebrate this day in its fullest!"

Caerival and Gloam make their way back toward the tree where Rel had been resting. Leaning on the hardwood allows the druid to feel more at ease amongst all the merriment. Caerival happily watches the joyous abandonment of the crowd.

If Talacyst is nearby, Caerival tries to catch his attention.

At the stroke of noon, everyone looks on expectantly as Father Zantus and his acolytes wheel a large covered wagon into the square. Father Zantus takes a few moments to recount for the crowd the short parable of how Desna first fell to earth and was nursed back to health by a blind child who she transformed into an immortal butterfly as a reward for her aid. Then, without further ado, the wagon’s cover is pulled aside, releasing the thousand children of Desna — a furious storm of a thousand swallowtail butterflies that swarm into the air in a spiraling riot of color to a great cheer from the crowd. Laughing children run to and fro, futilely chasing the butterflies, but never quite quick enough to catch them.

Then comes the serving of lunch, which is provided free, at the expense of Sandpoint’s taverns. Each brings its best dishes — it is well known that this event is a marketing push by the taverns as much to win new customers as it is to feed a hungry crowd. It soon becomes apparent that the darling of the lunch is, once again, Ameiko Kaijitsu of the Rusty Dragon, whose remarkable curry-spiced salmon and early winterdrop mead overshadow the other fine offerings, such as the Hagfish’s lobster chowder or the White Deer’s peppercorn venison.

Okay, go ahead and react to the above and let me know if there is anything in particular your characters want to do throughout the afternoon. Once you're all set, my next major post will advance things to sundown and the festival's closing prayer. At that point, things get...interesting. ;)

M Human Rogue/1st

"Well met to you both Master Caerival and Master Talacyst" says Rel with a pleasant smile on his face.
After eatting yet again Rel takes a rest at the tree again very content. The Swallowtail release was all that he had hoped it would be. The Swallowtail's were so beautiful, he will never forget this experience. So Rel just sits back and enjoys life keeping an eye on his newly made friends.

Male Human Druid 1

Caerival is not interested in all the selections of meats everyone seems to be pandering, but he wanders through the tables and booths admiring the assortment of breads, fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and the such. The druid even gives in to trying some goat's cheese from one pushy but not unpleasant young lass.

At some point Careival tries to get directions from Coppertop concening where he might be able to procure some fresh berries and teas.

By late afternoon, Caerival returns to the tree where Rel is lounging and tries to strike up some casual conversation. If engaged, Caerival attempts to discern if Rel would be useful in clearing Shank's Wood...

Let me know how much I need to spend for the berries and tea if they can be purchased.

Male Elf (Crying Leaf) Transmuter 1

Talacyst greets Rel warmly, doffing his new cap and saying, "Well met indeed! I am happy to meet any who live in this fine town." Talacyst introduces himself as a wizard from the Tower of Stars, explaining that he came here for a chance to travel and see the sights.

Noticing that the druid was trying to get his attention, the elf sits near him while he eats with his newfound friends, laughing with them and telling stories of his studies at the Tower of Stars.

The cart full of butterflies fascinates Talacyst - in the forests of his homelands there was never a great number of the beautiful creatures. Talacyst sits quitely and watches the torrent of insects with wonder.

After a time, Talacyst gives a brief performance to a group of youngsters. After picking up several pieces of fruit, the mage begins to juggle them, first in a small, slow-moving circle, before he begins expanding the ring and picking up speed.

As the children laugh and clap, the runes on Talacyt's face suddenly flare with blue light! The topmost apple freezes into place, as though it is being held by an invisible force. The youngsters gasp, and watch, fascinated, as the apple is released, juggled for a while, and then frozen in midair again. The elf frowns and tut-tuts, muttering, "Now why is this happening? Dear me..." and so forth. He takes a bow after a few minutes of this, and goes back to his companions.

Dex. Check for Juggling. (1d20+3=20) Cha. check (for Perform, though it's notably worse..) (1d20=20) - HA! Spoke too soon! Used Varisian Tattoo for that.

Etienne cannot but feel elated at the sight of the released butterflies. There is something in the event that touches your soul.

As the passage of the butterflies heralds lunch, Etienne decides to sample the cuisine of Sandpoint. Etienne insists, however, that he should be given only small portions, so as not to overindulge. Gluttony is a sin

Etienne invites his new friends to join him, "Friends, let's partake of the bounty... but mind that you do not overindulge."

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop watches with fond amusement as the children chase the butterflies. It wasn’t that long ago that he was amongst that group of children. Coppertop eats three lunches (well four, if you count going back for seconds on the curry-spiced salmon.). He settles down next to the tree with his new found friends and enjoys their company and the festivities. “This is indeed the best Swallowtail Festival ever,” he thinks contentedly to himself.

Although the more prominent taverns are hawking meat-laden wares, Caerival soon finds that, with a bit more searching, there is other fare to be had this day. He finds a plentiful assortment of dried and fresh fruit, warm hearty breads, vegetable stews, and herbal teas.

DF, there are plenty of free samples being given out at the festival; therefore, Caerival's acquisitions can be had for free.

Talacyst's display of magic and dexterity proves to be a huge hit, and soon he finds himself entertaining not only children, but a sizable number of adults as well. When he finishes his 'show', a spontaneous outburst of applause and cheers follows him back to his seat. The crowd disperses in disappointment, but they are all excitedly abuzz about the talented juggling elf with the strange tattoo.

The group of newfound companions whiles away the afternoon with eating, drinking, sharing of stories and tales, and general enjoyment of the festive atmosphere. Before long, the sun has begun to set, and it is time for the closing prayer. Right on cue, a sharp retort, like the crack of distant thunder, slices through the excited crowd as the sun’s setting rays paint the western sky. A stray dog that has crawled under a nearby wagon to sleep starts awake, and the buzz of two dozen conversations quickly hushes as all heads turn toward the central podium, where a beaming Father Zantus has taken the stage. He clears his throat, takes a breath to speak...when suddenly a woman’s scream slices through the air! A few moments later, another scream rises, then another. Beyond them, a sudden surge of strange new voices rises...high-pitched, tittering shrieks that sound not quite human. The crowd parts and something low to the ground races by, giggling with disturbing glee as the stray dog gives a pained yelp and then collapses with a gurgle, its throat cut open from ear to ear. As blood pools around its head, the raucous sound of a strange song begins, chanted from shrill, scratchy voices.

Rel, Goblin Language

Spoiler:
Rel understands the disturbing words of the awful song as it grows louder over the din of people shouting. It's being sung in the language of goblins...

'Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dog and cut the horse,
Goblins eat and take by force!
Goblins race and goblins jump.
Goblins slash and goblins bump.
Burn the skin and mash the head,
Goblins here and you be dead!
Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!'

Screams and shouts erupt from the people of Sandpoint as the crowd erupts into chaos, with people running in every direction. The fledgling heroes look around wildly, trying to see who or what has plunged the happy Swallowtail Festival into such bedlam.

All right, combat has begun! So far, only one goblin is in view (although from the commotion there are probably many more), and it's been seen only by Rel, Caerival, and Talacyst. Up first is a surprise round, with these three PCs able to take partial actions.

Initiative Count, Surprise Round
22: Rel Pais, (1d20+7=22)
19: Talacyst, (1d20+3=19)
15: Caerival (1d20+2=15)
2: Goblin

Check out this map (link below) I made with Maptool! Please use the coordinates provided to specify the ending locations of any move actions. Note that the map is overly simplified, because it doesn't show tables, chairs, running townsfolk, etc. So the scene is actually much more chaotic than the map indicates, but it should be useful nonetheless. Okay, Zoomackulas, Mr. Jason, and DitheringFool, let's have those surprise round actions!

After an initial shock of realization, a primal fury swells through the druid as he spots the enemy of his forest. "Goblins! By the wagon!" he yells to no one in particular. Caerival charges toward the opposite side of the wagon where the little cowardly waste of life might try to duck.

Caerival moves straight to I5.

Following Caerival's lead, Rel draws his short sword and goes to h4

As the scream carries through the square, Talacyst rises to his feet. "Goblins! Striking in festival? What is this!"

As Caerival and Rel approach the wagon the creature is crouching behind, Talacyst steps forward (to G9) and calls to mind a potent spell that will strengthen and enlarge a friend. Not knowing who will be in danger first, the mage pauses a moment, watching.

I'm preparing an action to cast Enlarge Person on the first person who gets into melee with the Goblin. (Range is only 25 ft. though.)

Etienne scans the screaming crowd for the cause of their panic but cannot see it.

To CH: Nice Map. How'd you make it?

Having spotted the loathsome goblin that killed the stray dog, Rel, Talacyst and Caerival all move in its general direction, adopting strategic positions to defend the town. (All move as indicated)

The goblin, in turn, darts out from behind its wagon hiding place, only to notice the nearby adventurers. The goblin snarls at Caerival, the closest, and brandishes its dogslicer at the druid. (Move to J7)

Meanwhile, as the crowd thins out (people are running from the square in all directions), Etienne and Coppertop can now see more clearly what is happening. What looks to be dozens of goblins have overrun the festival! They shriek and leap and race and cackle, clearly taking great joy in the panic and fear they are spreading among the people of Sandpoint. Some goblins wave torches and light tents on fire, while others chase children and pets with ill intent. The entire time, some of the goblins sing the horrifically catchy and nerve-wracking goblin song at the top of their lungs, further spurring their kin into murderous frenzy. Everywhere the heroes look, goblins are tearing through merchant stalls, menacing locals with their dogslicers, and throwing rocks through windows, causing as much terror as they can.

Image: Goblin Chaos

Most immediately threatening the PCs are three goblins...the one who was hiding behing the wagon, and two others a few feet away near an overturned table. This pair is busy stuffing their pockets full of Ameiko's delectable salmon.

Everyone, please post actions for round one!

As I'm almost last to act, I just hope you guys leave me something to clobber. Post later. Good night :-)

Male Human Druid 1

The crowd thins and the filthy little goblin bolts from behind the wagon, apparently unsure where to wreak havoc next. Caerival steps toward it and swings his staff with all the pent-up frustration he's felt these past few months.

Caerival moves to J6 and attacks with his quaterstaff 1d20=18 for a possible Damage (1d6+2=6)

If Goblin #1 is dispatched or otherwise unavailable on my turn I'll move to F4 and attack Goblin #2 with atk: (1d20=5) and dmg: (1d6+2=5)

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop cast "Bless" centered in F6. He then moves to be in position to threaten a goblin attacking Talacyst, Caerival, or Rel (in that order of preference).

Seeing his compaion moving to confront the foul goblins, Talacyst sees his moment. With a few well-chosen words and a series of gestures, Talacyst produces a bit of powdered iron from a small pouch and evokes his magic.

As Caerival approaches the Goblin, blue light suddenly pulses around him! Talacyst cries over the din, "Grow strong like the oak!" as the druid's form grows to a height of over 10 feet!

This is my prepared action from the suprise round, then. It seems to me that increasing one size category will up the damage die to 1d8, and you'll also get a +2 to Strength, a -2 to Dex and a -1 to AC and attack rolls. See description here. I'm guessing you'll want to reroll your damage, since it's a new die type.

M Human Rogue/1st

Rel seeing two more goblins behind him he move to the closes one and attacks.
Attack Roll with Short Sword (1d20=5)

Rel moves to F3-lame roll!!

Etienne charges at one of the goblins at the table. He draws his sword as he closes in.

"Right makes Might!"

Etienne charge at Goblin 2 by going to E4; Etienne gets +2 atk bonus from the charge and +1 from the bless for a total of +3.

Charge Attack at Goblin 2 (1d20+7=15, 1d8+2=9)

After Charge, AC until his next action is down to 16.

It seems to me that increasing one size category will up the damage die to 1d8, and you'll also get a +2 to Strength, a -2 to Dex and a -1 to AC and attack rolls. See description here. I'm guessing you'll want to reroll your damage, since it's a new die type.

Caerival is surrounded by commotion - fleeing townspeople, charging companions, menacing goblins, and Talacyst saying something. As the druids swings, the world seems to diminish!

bless and +2 Str -> +2 to hit and now I have dmg: (1d8+3=11)

COMBAT ROUND 1

Rel, seeing two more goblins behind him, moves toward the closest one and attacks with his short sword, but his blade whistles over the little bugger's head. The goblin spits nastily at Rel, as it drops a handful of greasy salmon from its grasp. (Rel moves to F3, attacks Goblin #2, misses.)

Seeing his companion moving to confront the foul goblins, Talacyst sees his moment. (Talacyst casts Enlarge Person on Caerival.)

The crowd thins and the filthy little goblin bolts from behind the wagon, apparently unsure where to wreak havoc next. Caerival steps toward it and swings his staff with all the pent-up frustration he's felt these past few months. Caerival is surrounded by commotion - fleeing townspeople, charging companions, menacing goblins, and Talacyst saying something. As the druids swings, the world seems to diminish! From the vantage of his newly great height, Caerival's quarterstaff smashes down on the dog-killing goblin's skull, staving it in! The dying goblin collapses to the ground like a sack of potatoes. (Caerival, now Enlarged, moves to J6, and attacks Goblin #1. He hits for 11 damage, dropping the goblin.)

The goblin nearest Rel takes a swipe at the rogue with his rusty dogslicer, annoyed at having its pillaging interrupted. But, the little goblin's swing is poorly aimed, and misses entirely. (Goblin #2 attacks Rel with dogslicer, misses.)

The third goblin seems oblivious to any danger. It grabs a fallen wine carafe off the ground, and begins licking droplets from the edges, cackling loudly all the while.

Coppertop intones a prayer of blessing, to the benefit of all his new friends. Then, seeing that Caerival needs no assistance, the young cleric begins to move toward Rel and the goblins near the table. (Casts Bless, then moves 20' to E6. He can't get close enough to threaten any enemies this round.)

Etienne charges at one of the goblins at the table. He draws his sword as he closes in, shouting "Right makes Might!" Etienne slams into the goblin with force, and his longsword slices through its throat with one quick slash. The goblin blinks once, and some half-chewed salmon spills forth from its gaping mouth, then it falls face forward in the dirt. (Etienne charges to D4 (Coppertop blocked him from charging to E4), then attacks Goblin #2 with longsword. Hits for 9 damage, dropping the goblin.)

Map: Combat Round 2

Round Two Initiative Count
22: Rel Pais
19: Talacyst
15: Caerival
12: Goblin #3
7: Coppertop
6: Etienne

Effects: Enlarge Person on Caerival; Bless for whole party.

I know that Caerival's size hasn't been properly adjusted on the combat map, but I can't use Maptool from this computer. I did cut and paste with MSPaint, so at least everyone is in the right place. Go ahead and state actions for Round 2, please.

Male Human Cleric 1

Coppertop feels a surge of elation and confidence as his new friends deal swift death to the goblins. He shouts “Sandpoint! Sandpoint!“ before letting loose with a rebel yell while moving to help slay the remaining goblin.

Coppertop will move to attack the goblin with his long spear.

Male Human Druid 1

Still reeling over his new stature, Caerival takes a moment to see the results of his killing blow. Life and death, it is all natural. He quickly turns and sees his companions dispatching another pair of goblins nearby. Since they obviously have the situation well at hand (these men will definitely be sufficient to help cleanse Shank's Wood, he notes to himself), Caerival takes advantage of his viewpoint to scan the surrounding square and streets for any more trouble. Spot: (1d20+4=5) with +2 more for goblinoids...
