Everything else looks good guys, I will open a post for play sometime tomorrow.
Yeah, I found the donkey after the edit option disappeared. I don't know why I couldn't see it right on the list I was looking at. I did pay for the mule, and I will buy the dog as well, then. I'm assuming standard stats. Can I train them up to their training limit?
Thanks!
Yes.

OK, let's make sure I have this right.
We have:
2)Vaclav Rennet, human priest of Erastil, from Magnimar, but has wandered his fair share of Varisia. (Are you staying in Sandpoint? If so where? WHy are you in Sandpoint).
Sorry, Rogue, missed this question on my first read through. Vaclav heard about the new temple, and being currently unemployed, and drifted into town just to see it. He walks into town just as the festivities begin, after a very tough night during which he lost most of his possesions in a friendly game after some friendly drinks with some friendly sharps he met on the road.

The-Last-Rogue |

Ok:
What is everyone doing the day of the festival?
Are you just arriving? (i.e Are you on the road as day breaks?)
For those of you who live in or have been in Sandpoint a few days, what are you doing as the festival sets up? Game will start at 7 am, festival starts at 9 am officially. Are you helping setting up? Getting a good place to watch the festivites from? . . etc.
Also for those of you who live in Sandpoint, you know about the late unpleasantness, you know many of the personalities about town, etc. Feel free to use that information.
Once I get a sense of what everyone is doing, the game will begin.

Onagella Sunpath |

Onagella and Sunshine (her guard dog) rise early and stroll out along the cliff top, past the old light house and then down to the beach by the docks by the docks. She throws sticks for sunshine (who won't bring them back) for a bit, and then head along the docks area to the market. She will give a cheerful greeting to anyone she sees, especially travellers. She keeps an eye on what merchants are arriving and getting ready to leave, and will discuss job opportunities when possible. From there she will wander up fiestival way and check out the preparations, and then return to the inn for breakfast. She hopes to find a place to watch the festivities not far from the inn, and will be there 15 minutes before things start. Sunshine accompanies her to the festival as well.
On her morning stroll, she carries all the equipment she normally carries on a trip (to keep up her fitness), but at the festival she will only have her axe and armour (she wants to maintain her image of competence in case there is a prospective employer), no shield or other weapons.

Rince |

Rince will probably have trudged into town the day before. He'll have gone to the Cathedral as soon as possible and offered to help with the setup for the next day so he will probably have encountered Abstalar Zantus.
He will have slept out of the way and on the day of the festival he will have washed and shaved the best he could and will be continuing to aid with the preparation if allowed.
His kit will be put to one side, possibly under a bench or something where he can keep an eye on it - his sword is the most valuable thing he's ever owned and he feels a great sense of responsibility in bearing it.

Tzoltan Devreen |

Tzoltan is not an early riser, by nature, and he doesn't expect much business on a festival day. He therefore takes the opportunity to sleep in a bit, waking at some time after eight in the morning, drags on his work clothes and his tool-belt, and shuffles toward the new cathedral to check out the festivities. He lives in a little house on the north side of Tower St., near building #7, so he's coming from that direction. He has an ill-formed plan to track down Mr. Vinder at some point and see if there is any festival related work for him, but he isn't expecting much.

The thread title is just Rise of the Runelords. (Not being snarky, Rogue, but thought they might be looking for "Rogue's Rise.)
Cool. I did say I was going to name it that, but for some reason I did not . . .I guess I am not egotistical enough to insert my avatar name in . . . ;)

Rogue, how do you handle recovering from negative hit points? In my old group if you hit negative you were out for at least a day of rest no matter how many cures were laid on you. A heal would put you back ready for action. I can't remember if that was a house rule or not. It will affect spell selection in the future.

No. If you hit negs and are brought back via healing magic you are fine as anyone else.

Just thought you might like to know the following:
I just clicked on the goblin song link on the game thread, thinking it was a text thing. I forgotten I'd left my PC speakers at full volume. I looked away whilst the file downloaded so didn't see it was sound !
Just scared the c**p out of myself !!!!(Not to mention the Cat !!)
I wish Rince didn't have the initiative of a stone !
Roll on Initiative 3 !

Now that I think about it I need to set up a thread in the discussion forums for ooc stuff like this.

Hey guys I have been super busy this week, much moreso than expected. I will proceed onwards with the story tomorrow though.
S'okay Rogue. If you need to give this game a Red light so that you can work on the open call I understand. You'd be a Raven lunatic not to give that project your all. ;) (Sorry, it was the best I could do.)

The-Last-Rogue |

Yeah guys I hate to do this, but I do need to put the game on hold . . .It is not just the open call, I am also a Senior English Major . . . I have 3 short stories I need to edit and begin shopping around, 1 short story I need to write; 5 poems I need to edit by the 19th, and a script that needs to be as good as I can get it by the 13th of December. Throw in an open call (which, not surprisingly is the #1 priority) and a girlfriend who is doing a medical internship and things are busy.
So let's put the game on hiatus for a bit. Sorry again guys.
* I am going to post this in my other games as well.

Hi, guys. I for one, like the group so far. Everyone has a distinct edge to their character.
One thing that's a little surprising for me is the Erastil-heavy nature of the group. I was really struck first by the longbow as a favored weapon. That's what drew me to use him. But some of the other diety's look cool too. Why'd you other Erastil devotees choose him?
Guthwulf just an quick explanation of the "weaponless" gaff. My fault not Vaclav's. I jumped to the conclusion that Marius was unarmed when he went around the table to engage the goblin because he picked up the table knife to throw as his first attack. Vaclav in no way meant to denigrate the staff as a weapon. I would have liked the staff as V's melee weapon except I thought it would look stupid for him to be stalking around with 2 big pieces of lumber.
Anyone else want to jump in or shall I just blather away all day?

Thereal Tom, thanks for your kind words, and Last Rogue, best of luck with Flight of the Red Raven.
As for Erastil, I made my choice based on who I figured Onagella would feel the strongest tie to. I didn't actually pay much attention to favoured weapon, since I already had a concept for that for her. And I figure it doesn't matter that much, since she's not a cleric or paladin or anything.
It is funny though, that we have such a high density of Erastil-followers.

PbemDM |

Thanks for the earlier compliment, Thom. I've been DMing exclusively for years now, and the one thing I like is when a player immediately makes an impression through description and role-playing. So that's what I'm trying to do. (I've DM'ed certain characters for years, and still only have a vague mental picture of their appearance and personality.) I'm not a big fan of cliche characters, but if you're too subtle about personality, then it's lost on the DM and other players, especially over messageboard posts. I think we have a good group of role-players, and I hope we can hang on until Rogue returns.
As for Erastil, Tzoltan is not the religious type, so I don't really have any input there. I will say that I think the deity concept is solid, and the bow is just a cool weapon for a cleric type who mostly provides support.

The-Last-Rogue |

Revenge of the Rogue's Return. Coming soon.
By the way, Rogue, I appreciate you running the game. It must take tons more time and effort than I can to invest, though I'd like to try running a PbP someday.
Actually the PBP is probably the easiest thing on my plate lately; I have just been weighed down with all that 'real life stuff' . . .but I will begin posting again tonight around 6-7 pm. Yeah!!!

The-Last-Rogue |

Sorry . . . how much time for a pbp??? Not as much as regular game . . .you have the leisure of being able to sit down and write something up, so you can rarely be caught off guard . . .the tricky part is . . .I like ellipses . . .the tricky part is that since it is PBP it is easy to let it slip down the list of priorties . . .but we ar eback to the normal now so
GAME ON!

But seriously, can you estimate hours/week? I don't want to take on Pathfinder 2 and then have to bail out. Wouldn't be fair to the players.
Theoretically playing PbP should take 5 minutes/day, but I find playing 2 games, between booting up and logging on, etc., etc. I'm spending st least 30 min/day . Looking over the rest of the boards doesn't help. I'm a constant lurker on your GOlarion campaign, Aubrey's 2 campaign's, now Fabesmini's Oriental campaigns, and Guy Hamal's Tristan diaries. A little more self control lurking would probably help. The other thing I have to consider is travel for work. I've been incredibly lucky staying home this year. But when travel picks up, posting could be hard.
