About Tzoltan Devreen

Though he was born in Ustalav, Tzoltan came to Westcrown as an infant when his parents relocated to work as actors in the theater. He's had a good life, moving around the Inner Sea with his parents in their traveling troupe. They always eventually end up back in Westcrown, however, the place that Tzoltan considers home. As he's matured, he's been allowed to follow his interests, dabbling in a wide variety of performance and academic pursuits. Recently, tragedy has struck. Just last month, Tzoltan's father discovered that his mother was having an affair with a local noble. He confronted the noble, and the situation escalated to deadly violence. Upon hearing of her husband's death, Tzoltan's mother, never emotionally stable, committed suicide. Tzoltan now has to figure out what to do with his life besides the occasional acting gig.

Tzoltan is an ethnic Varisian of average height and build, with very dark hair and eyes and light olive skin. He has the kind of symmetrical face that's pleasant to look at without being particularly handsome, and the tendency to try to draw attention to himself. Tzoltan is never seen in public without his fine silk tunic and half-cape, with a jaunty feathered cap, well polished boots and a fine rapier at his belt. He occasionally affects a pair of Varisian gold loop earrings.

Archaeologist Abilities:
Bardic Knowledge (Ex) - A bard adds half his class level (minimum 1) to all Knowledge skill checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained.
Bardic Performance - Archaeologists do not gain the bardic performance ability or any of its performance types.
Archaeologist’s Luck (Ex) - Fortune favors the archaeologist. As a swift action, an archaeologist can call on fortune’s favor, giving him a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. He can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Charisma modifier. Maintaining this bonus is a free action, but it ends immediately if the archaeologist is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. Archaeologist’s luck is treated as bardic performance for the purposes of feats, abilities, effects, and the like that affect bardic performance. Like bardic performance, it cannot be maintained at the same time as other performance abilities. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 11th level, and +4 at 17th level.

Traits:

World Traveler: Your family has taken the love of travel to an extreme, roaming the world extensively. You’ve seen dozens of cultures and have learned to appreciate the diversity of what the world has to offer.
Benefit: Select one of the following skills: Diplomacy, Knowledge (local), or Sense Motive. You gain a +1 trait bonus to that skill, and it is always a class skill for you.

Child of Infamy: Your family has long been in show
business. Perhaps it was your parents, or an older sibling,
or an uncle or aunt—whatever the case, one of your close
relatives is, or was, a well-known and well-loved actor or
actress. That this relation died in some compromising
and embarrassing way has done little to alter your family’s
name and fame—if anything, the unfortunate death has
increased it. When folk learn your last name, they are quick
to assume you live a wild life like your ill-fated relative,
and whether you bask in this notoriety or do your best to
hide your heritage, the years of association with the acting
scene have had their effect. You’ve certainly inherited
your relative’s talents, and are a larger-than-life figure, a
melodramatic attention-hound, or a sly manipulator of
emotions. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Perform (act) skill
checks, and the skill is always considered a class skill for
you. Furthermore, you’ve inherited some of your relative’s
funds, and begin play with a nest egg of 300 gp that you can
spend however you wish.
