I'd like to add my voice to the "hire this guy" chorus. The art is just amazing.

Can you be sure that she really turns into a succubus? Maybe it's just Tsuto's libido running wild with him and she doesn't, in fact, turn into a succubus just before the big fight?

Yeah, doesn't sound likely, I know, but you never know!

I have a minor complaint about the nualia photos: Her expression. It looks like a nice girl who just happened to have no clothes on. I think since Tsuto was painting her, she should have a different expression, something along the lines of "I can do things with you your language doesn't even have names for. You think you were having fun before? That was nothing!"

My character hasn't even met Tsuto yet, we're a slow moving high RP group, we've only just got the news Ameiko is gone. Still, I shall be quiet and will be sure to try to catch fellow players in our group before they nosey at this thread too :)

KaeYoss wrote:

I was looking more for intimate moments, rather than explicitness (explicit photos one can get anywhere). Tsuto's notes seem to indicate a level of denial, and I tried to show that by portraying Nualia in a "nice" fashion.

*Bonk* Bad Kayos! You keep coming back here for more spoilers! You know I read your journal...*lets the threat hang...*

Just disregard this stuff as much as possible. People are probably going to start deliberately misleading you if you stick around here too much.

But as a notice to everyone on this thread...if possible put SPOILERS behind a SPOILER tag. There are people that haven't gotten there yet. Lets give them a chance.

Nice thoughtful bit of insight, and perfectly in keeping with his journal entry.

Tsuto is a guy who hasn't thought things through... No wonder he's a failed monk..

Edit: You know, sometimes I want to put a role-playing edge on things and my players don't always give me the opportunity.

Spoiler:
My Tsuto hung himself after being captured. My lawful good cleric of Iomedae had to pull the other PCs off of him, because they wanted to torture him for more information. He was found swinging in his cell the next day.

But Tsuto's rejection of Sandpoint as a community, and the nonchalance with which he joins Nualia's clearly destructive path.. I dunno.. it reminds me a little of a character in Stephen King's The Stand. I can't remember his name, but he's the fat nerdy guy, who loses all the weight and 'appears' to become a stronger character after he throws his lot in with the seductress character (who is ultimately another sad pawn of the anti-christ character Randall Flagg). The guy doesn't end up with the girl, because she is and was always intended for a darker purpose. In the end, the Devil causes him to have a motorcycle accident on the side of the road, where he dies slowly. The main hero character, Stu, later find his corpse. The guy had written on a piece of notebook paper stuck to his chest. I was misled.

That, to me, is Tsuto.

But in my game the characters never let him have the opportunity to process and actualize his situation

I noticed that, certainly about the succubus face. Interesting take by Lilith on the way Tsuto would portray Nualia. To be honest, I'm not sure a little screw-up like Tsuto would actually think like that, but on the other hand I don't think anyone fancies seeing (or drawing) depictions of perversions on the Paizo website either. Nualia could possibly do with a bit more menace about her (I suspect Tsuto is probably the submissive type, and into that sort of thing) but nevertheless Lilith's pictures are (a) useful as handouts and (b) tasteful enough not to scare the horses.

Oh, I knew about it, its just been a LONG time since I had ever done one...and one does tend to forget things like that sometimes.

Still, I suppose thats no excuse...I'm starting to wonder if that plant the wife brought home is a Yellow Musk Creeper.

I guess I'd have a request. Would anyone be interested in turning a picture of Karzoug into a "stone statue"?

It be pretty cool if I could show the PCs a picture of the statue in Pathfinder #1 that wasn't color. That way they think it's part of the adventure versus the BBEG.

Just a suggestion if anyone wanted to do it ; )

Any chance you're working on an Aldern sketch for your crew? Yours is some excellent stuff. It's definitely getting used in my game.

Thx.

Mostly female parties? Is that what you mean? Or do you imply an abundance of lucky Dwarves in your campaigns?

I mean when a lone makle ends up in an all-female party, they tend to get lucky. ;-)

I have a few girls-night games, and they tend toward all-female parties. Not universal, but many of those games have been boy-free zones.

Of course we have guest players sometimes (we have a lot of DnD campaigns set on the same world), and those are generally male (player and character both). That often leads to "social encounters" as well.

But any time we get one male long-term in an otherwise grrrl group, they end up being friends-with-benefits to half the party or more. especially dwarves 9which aren't cross-fertile with other species in our campaigns).

The lack of cross-fertility...a perk of being a dwarf in a party I had not considered.

^_^

Yasha0006 wrote:

Cross-fertility, or lack thereof, is critical in the social outlook of our campaign. much as the birth-control pill created a sexual revolution in the real world, the laws allowing inte-racial marriage created one in our campaign. The fact a gnome and a halflling could engage in sex without fear of unwanted pregnancy is huge.

Of course, the campaign also has silphium in the modern era (laserwort is just too weird a name), which is much prized by temple protitutes. And makes life easier for elves to lvoe elves 9and humans), and so on. But casual sexual relationships still tend to be between infertile interspecies groups.

Dragons, of course, thus don't get much love and, as a result, are a grumpy lot.

Nice! I only just noticed this thread and your stuff is pretty good, its not my usual style but I like it. I particularly like the drawing of Ameiko. In the RotRL campaign that I'm playing in the DM tried to have a little romantic relationship between my character and Ameiko but I'd seen the picture in Pathfinder and I just laughed. I wouldn't have laughed if I'd seen this picture.

nice artwork on Amekio, Grant, but I must be the only person that actually likes the way Amekio is presented in the book, ha ha!!

My players don't mind the pic either, one has taken a liking to her already. I picture Amekio as a rebellious type & that picture fits her well, your's is good too thou, more or less a conservative type.

Anyone--still looking for a Nualia pic thou, the one in the book is ok but I'd like to see what anyone can do thou, the pic to me just doesn't measure up to her celestial beauty as described, thou the hand & the scars are represented well thou.

great stuff, guys

BTW -
I remember people saying they wanted Nualia imagery. I didn't draw this pic, and it's (obviously) not meant to be Pathfinder fan art.. but I figured I'd link to it anyway: http://el-grimlock.deviantart.com/art/hechicera-17679424

I agree that some of the art in Pathfinder 1 doesn't fit the style of the book. Pathfinder 2 is a HUGE step closer to where we're heading with the art style. There's no "cartoony" art in there, really (except for Kyle's ghoul in the Foreword). At least, it doesn't look cartoony to me. I can guarentee that some readers won't like it or will think it's cartoony, simply based on the fact that "cartoony" means different things to different people, though.

And then the yucky art from Pathfinder 3. :)

Overall I think 2's been the best so far.

Really? .. Guess it just goes to show everyone has different tastes. :) I'd say, of the three issues so far, #2 is my least favorite in the art department. I've really enjoyed most of the art in 1 and 3.

I didn't like the half page pictures. I thought they were inferior to 1 & 2. See page 34 as an example of what I mean.

The pictures to go with monster stats weren't bad but didn't make up for the half page pictures which are a big eyesore IMHO.

OK, yeah, I have to agree with you.. I just looked at my copy of book 3, and had totally forgotten about those pictures (ie. pages 15 and 34).. I don't mean to sound like I hate the artist, because I think they're well-drawn. I just think they're a little too bright and goofy - they don't seem to match the tone of Pathfinder so far at all. So yeah, I do agree.

I did like the art in book 2.. The only reason I would say it's my least favorite so far is because I didn't like how some of the characters looked. Again, not saying the art was poorly-done. I just didn't like the look of, say, the cultists (with their wacky orange-y circus clothes) and Xanesha's big Madonna rocket-boob cones.

Anyway, I suppose we're getting off topic now. heh :) Over all, I'm happy with PF's art so far!

It's not really what's drawn that bothers me it's how it's drawn. I don't like shape of the faces or the bodies, they just look bad. 1&2's half page pictures just stood out more to me.
