Hello everybody! The place for games has updated the page. They supposedly sent dungeon 148 on 12th and Dragon 357 on 20th. I believed we will receive our magazines soon if it is true but, if the info is true, why haven´t we received Dungeon 148 yet?
Because they're lying maybe?
I'm betting that those of us who subscribe to both magazines will get both Dungeon and Dragon in the same envelope as TPFG pull the old save on the postage trick.
If thats not the case then can Paizo please send me a new Dungeon 148 now as its obviously got "lost in the post" in the 2 weeks since TPFG claim they sent it.
Also of interest the Orcs Nest store in London expect to have Dungeon 149 in stock this Wednesday 27th!! This is quite likely to before we subscribers receive 148. Way to go with the excellent service to subscribers. Not.

Was starting think I was overdue aa Dungeon since I lose track of the dates they are supposed to arrive and came to check here. Glad, in a way, to know that I'm not the only one but no Dungeon 148 here either (UK). Also reassured by earlier posts that Paizo will handle distribution of Pathfinder. As others have said earlier in this thread, customer service has always been spot on. Keep up the good work guys!!

With you all the way on this one crazy_cat - my local games/comic store is due to have Dungeon #149 also in stock. Nice to know who's top of the food chain...
Ironically the reason I stopped picking Dragon & Dungeon from there, and switched to a subscription was to get em earlier. Especially in the run-in to the magazines respective demise[s] I'd have hoped to get them earlier!
Look on the bright side guys - at least Europe might still be recieving Dungeon and Dragon well into 2008 ;)

Still no Dungeon. If this keeps up I won't be renewing my subscription ...
Yeah me too, Im done after issue 150. No more Dungeon for me (unless they bring it back). I'm off to Pathfinder, just try and stop me!
Elcian
EDIT* Does Paizo get some kind of refund for this poor service from TPFG? I dont want any money but it would be nice to know that Paizo get some compensation for all the flack they are having to deal with.

They should do IMO. If paizo still have not had a solid reply yet from TPFG as to why there is such a long delay, it smacks of truly atrocious customer service.
Thank god, paizo will be taking over the delivery of Pathfinder directly, if TPFG were still in charge i'd be tempted to reconsider a subscription.![](/WebObjects/Frameworks/Ajax.framework/WebServerResources/wait30.gif)

We have an update from the Place for Games.

I refer you to the "because they're lying" response I gave a few days ago. Appalling service and a rubbish excuse yet again from TPFG.

Industrial action? I would've thought that'd be on the news if it happened.

Actually, it's a reasonable excuse. The Communication Workers Union which covers the Post Office is extremely bolshie and itching for a fight - a national strike is in the offing fairly soon, I understand. Like most left-wing unions the actual customer is very low on their list of priorities.

I'm going to echo my man crazy_cat here - this is simply untrue.
Royal Mail industrial action does not take effect until Friday 3am (ie the day after tomorrow) and has had no effect on deliveries up until now. All of my other mail is being delivered fine. Sorry, but TPFG are lying to you guys.

Dungeon 148 arrived in the post here in Cheshire, UK a few minutes ago, as did Dragon 257. They came in separate envelopes.
Industrial action? I would've thought that'd be on the news if it happened.
paz
Good news. Hopefully they'll start turning up today across the country. If so, it won't be because they were posted on the 12th - more like a few days ago.

To the best of my knowledge the industrial action in the UK has not taken place yet. While, as Aubrey says they are being bolshie about things I am stil recieving other post and a lot of circulars. This action at Royal Mail will be the first in ten years as I understand it. If I were Paizo I would want a better answer and since every magazine has been held up accross Europe I would want to check with the individual distribution centre since the reason given does not seem to hold much water.
Elcian
EDIT* If they hit the post service when TPFG said they did the post mark will be dated ages ago. I wonder what date will be on it when it arrives*
Also If it were the post office should the Paizo order of Gamemastery cards which I ordered after the mag was dispatched not have been affected? These arrived ages ago.

OMG : you're so UNlucky, Paz !
Everybody is expecting Dragon 357 to arrive, and you just received Dragon 257 !!
Well, a hundred more to come... ;-))
Yes, I'm looking forward to 3rd edition in a year or so!
(I dunno, you make one typo in a potentially informative post first thing in the morning, and suddenly everyone's a comedian...)
Elcian: I checked the envelopes - there is no dated postmark on them.

paz
Well, I went through my Dragon 357 yesterday (my subscription stopped at n°356 !) and I believe I will find my Dungeon copy tonight or tomorrow (however, I'll have to buy the last 2 copies since my subscription will stop at this one).

National strike action, yes. Local strike action is, well, local. And it does happen, but isn't necessarily national news. The CWU is militant, and does things like that - I know of several instances locally, once in London and much less than ten years ago. The post is sorted locally and then distributed through the network. If you get a local strike, it will hold up the post from the area. It happens, trust me, I have seen it.
Jeez, first WotC and now tPfG - get a grip guys, this isn't an evil conspiracy. Here is a link - can't vouch for the date, but it suggests that postal strikes in Oxfordshire are not uncommon. Or if you like the Socialist Worker, here is another. In fact, these may explain a lot, thinking on it - a new acronym to hate: CWU.

I should have never doubted you, didn't check the links but your right. If it were one office it wouldn't make the news and would cause the issues.
I get grumpy when I don't get my fix.

There's no conspiracy. TPFG simply weren't honest about when they sent Dungeon out. Dragon arrived on time, and Dungeon arrived with it. Conspiracy? No. Coincidence due to strike action? No. They simply didn't send Dungeon out when they said they did. They sent it along with Dragon.
(As an aside, industrial action by the Royal Mail appears to have been averted at the last minute, which is good news. And it will hopefully stop TPFG from using it as an excuse for their poor service in future.)

Had Dungeon 148 and Dragon 357 in the post today (UK) in seperate envelopes. Would be surprised if local industrial action is the cause given that there is a national strike on Friday. Still, it's not unheard of. Have my magazines now anyway and am happy.

Like I say - you are confusing a national strike with local strike action - the two don't have much to do with one another. Type in "postal strike Oxfordshire" to Google and see what comes up (tPfG are in Oxfordshire). I think it is pretty daft to state with the confidence you are a completely unsupported view. They don't save on postage by sending them in different envelopes, which is what they have done. So why bother holding on to them to post them together? I suspect they didn't. Anyway, they are out now, so lets forget the griping until next month.
Good news about the national dispute, though.

Heh, well, looks like the talks are off again, so I guess a strike may be on the cards after all!
I'm not confusing anything, though, and a Google search does indeed show that there haven't been any local strikes ongoing in Oxfordshire for a few months. Either way, I'm not convinced that TPFG have been straight about this, but there you go. I can deal with being called daft, if that's the upshot :-) As you say, though, enough griping. No harm no foul.
