I achieved one of my major life goals this morning:
I finally managed to get a Care Bear out of the claw machine. Booya!
Well crap. It's all downhill from here I guess.
At least "Harmony Bear" will keep my spirits up.
Man, you must be super human. I've only seen one guy ever manage to get something out of the claw machine. I thought he was some sort of savant, but now I know that he is one among many.

Because one of my best friends (who plays the kenku rogue in my Styes campaign) works at the frame counter at the art supply store, I managed to save more that $50 (at the very least) on a frame for the only drawing I'm sending to a show in Nashville on December 1st by using a misordered metal frame. Perfectly good frame; they just ordered the wrong size and gave the misordered frames to him. Matting, glass, frame: cost me nothing (though I did treat him to lunch and comped his pizza for the next few weeks of D&D for setting me up).
Also, I just find it really hilarious that my good friends, the purveyors of illustration, comic and art books at Bud Plant.com send out their "Incorrigible Catalog" where I order fine "imported art books" without any kind of wrapping to prevent opening. It just makes me smile to know that my catalog of nudie magazines is being shared with the fine letter carriers of America.

Well, here's my problem. Mental illness sort of runs down my mother's side, and I have some mild OCD. One of the ways it manifests itself is the claw machine. In fact, my wife has a hope chest completely piled with stuffed animals. The best I ever did was four with a single pull, which was sweet, though I had to put in another 50 cents to use the claw as a battering ram, as they all got stuck in the chute (there's kind of a science to it, as the tensioner only really grabs hard like one out of ten pulls). Now that I've accomplished the goal (finally getting a care bear from one of the damn things), I don't know if I should ever go near one again. In the universal scheme of things, I could have worse things to worry about! Other men with a pocket full of $1 bills are going to the strip joint; Mike, he's making a beeline for the claw machine...
for the only drawing I'm sending to a show in Nashville on December 1st
Is that the one with the park bench? Part of me really wants to buy a plane ticket to go down there and buy some of your art, but it's difficult atm with my new son.

That would be it. If it doesn't sell that night on December 1st, it's going to be up on the online shop the gallery is starting. I'm also considering sending a few other things that I have left from school, even though that means marking them down a little in price ($250 or less show). If I make the effort to get a paypal account I could just make my own online store and cut out the middleman; looking into it.

Sweet. Here's hoping, although if I have to call it "Square Foot," I'm out. I think "squift" rolls off the tongue nicely. Yes. Squift it is.
Or perhaps, scuffed? Skooft...

Preparing to be a full blown dad. Seeing that little person on an Ultrasound is what finally convinced me that HOLY S&$! I'm a dad.
(My wife already had a little girl so I have been a dad for a while. It just feels different knowing that little bean with arm and leg buds is half me. )

Conga-Rats man! Ours looked liked "Mr. Peanut" in the ultrasound (we still call him “the peanut,” poor kid).
I lucked out, as I have medical training, so they let me help with the birth (which was both difficult and explosive). I swear to all that's holy, after you see that, nothing fazes you. A giant maggot could serve me runny eggs while a headless man pleasures himself next to me and I'd still be all, "You going to finish that?" now. So beautiful and horrifying all condensed into one instant, like being hurled into the heart of the sun.
Being a dad rules.

I'm offended that you would help with a birth. The rest? Myeh!

Okay, forget my last post. I swear I've had writer's block ever since I read this post. Every time I try to write something this image pops into my head. I'm afraid to sleep. In the name of God, someone PLEASE help me forget.

Good things!
1. I am off tomorrow and the weekend. (but not Friday. :-( )
2. On my Credit card that has over $11 k, I lowered my interest rate from 24% to 22%, thus saving me over $200 a year.
3. 2 of the 4 sets of the Green Ronin stuff have shipped today and 3 of the 4 items that were on backorder are off the back order list.
4. I was finally able to figure out what I was doing wrong on getting onto the CoH test server. As of today, it is now available for use.
5. I found Million Dollar Baby for $5 at Best Buy.

6. My room mate will be paying me tonight $200 of the $1140 that he owes me. He also said that he should be paid up in full by the end of next month and that I should be getting at least $150 next Friday. All I can say is it is a good start.
Party at Sharoth's house tonight! And he's buying the beer!!!

~laughter~ Sure. Come on over. We can have a house cleaning party. You grab the mop and bucket, I will vacccume and someone else can do the dishes and the lawn! After that we can have beer!
~grins~ Unfortunatly, most of that money is alread earmarked towards bills. That is the main reason why he is my room mate.

Well, we played a huge Apocolypse battle of 40k here in ABQ this week at Active Imagination; I brought a measely 5500 points of Tau and managed to pull off a win; the battle size was 8 long tables with about 10 players with a total of everyones armies point value at about 60k and I managaged to pull of a win by the skin of my teeth and got awarde a collectors edition metal votex grenade bubble template; was a really fun game full of good peeps and a good time had by all; battle lasted 10 hours; we had good pizza, drinks and much humor :) great way to blow off some steam.

I have three pieces of artwork (two of which are old portfolio pieces, but what do you WANT FROM ME?!!) in "Deck the Walls: The Affordable Art Show" at the Square Foot Gallery in Nashville, TN that opens tomorrow night. Everything in the show is $250 and below and after the opening it will be up online for sale at the store.
Hopefully this will help pay back the money that I owe to some very, very bad people.
...
Come on, they're gonna take my THUMBS!!

I just successfully (knocking on wood here) upgraded my Dell Optiplex 270 with a new 410W power supply (replacing the meager 250 W one), followed by a GeForce 7600 GS video card (up from the 5200 FX).
All this so that I can install and play NWN 2, which I got for Xmas LAST year!
I really want to get a better PC or Mac so I can run NWN 2; especially with Mask of the Betrayer and the upcoming Mysteries of Westgate and Planescape modules.

Both are being developed by independent studios with the GM tools packaged with NWN 2. They should be downloadable for a few dollars.
GameBanshee has info on them in the NWN 2 section.

Planescape = AWESOME. Strange how people dog on that campaign setting so much....

My wife and I exchanged Christmas presents yesterday. We do this early, because we fly to New Orleans every year for family visits, and its easier to get it over with.
Anyway, I got the new Godzilla game for my Wii - sweet! I'm looking forwarrd to mastering the fighting using the remote and nunchuck! And this one has a lot more monsters. So far it kicks ass.
I also received the new Ozzy Osbourne compilation 4-disc set. Two discs worth of classic Ozzy songs (some live, some demo versions), then another disc of duets (including his famous duet with Miss Piggy), and finally a disc of 10 cover songs, including the Rolling Stones classic Sympathy for the Devil. I've already started listening to it, and it rocks.
Lastly, I hit a homerun with my gift to her. On our honeymoon in Mexico, she had purchased an opal set in silver, and had been talking about wanting to get a chain for it. So while she was out of town last week, that's exactly what I did. I also got her a nice sweater, but the chain for her pendant thing was the real hit. Woohoo.
