Liberty's Edge

First time I've been on the internet since Eurovision.

Highlights:
F%%*ing Moldova
Albania
Prince, I mean "Son of the President," Emin descending from the ceiling
Macedonia
Finland's vote-casting (and finding this)
Iceland was okay but they kinda popped it up for the final
Turkey
the UK complaining

I guess I'm happy for the Swedes, but they don't always have the best taste in music and there are some other bands that I like more than Loreen.

Other than that, Crooked Fingers is always good.

(Also, thanks zylphryx, but I got all those links from a thread where a bunch of people were talking about music, so it's not really a credit to my tastes.)

Thank you, thank you. We'll be appearing here all week. Please remember to tip your waitress, as she's supporting a $300 a week Penicillin habit. Oh, and try the veal!

Right now, I'm listening to Machine Head--American High.

Their CD, Unto The Locust, is the best metal release so far this year. They weren't one of my top 5 bands until this most recent CD. It is AWESOME!

Liberty's Edge

You know, I continue to find the concentration of metalheads in this forum to be funny and cool.

How's that again?

Liberty's Edge

Well, in my usual internet milieu I talk to chiptune or pop fans. And I think metal is cool music that I don't get to listen to much.

It's funny because everything is funny.

Just saw them at Rocklahoma 2012. They were 'meh'...of course they had the crummiest spot on the lineup...the hour before the sun went down so it was HOT and moist.

But after that...the side stage had The Darkness!!

Get your hands off of my woman! Justin got on a roadies back and got out into the audience like Angus at the old AC DC shows...played guitar behind his head...I got some cool action shots of that with my phone. They played a blistering 5 song set and got the hell out of there. They were awesome!

Dave Mustaine and company took to the main stage to blast the onlookers with their kickass thrash...but I had ulterior motives. I could see the jumbotron and watched them play some great songs (Peace Sells and She Wolf still two of my favorites)..but I was edging up to the front of the crowd of the side stage for VOLBEAT!

Warriors Call They put on a non-stop show! Veryvery cool! They stopped for a minute in the middle and Michael pulled out a folded up piece of paper. He says "We are poor band from Denmark. You know the backdrops behind the band? This is our banner." unfold unfold unfold...Then he gets out a little pen light. "...and this is our light show..." click click click. LOL.

Then they threw out souvenirs and the girl next to me got the signed drum head...got a pic of that too. I went to the merch booth and got a shirt and then headed to the main stage for

ROB ZOMBIE!

He was in a bit of a mood, so it wasnt a great show for him...but he and his band kicked ass! He did Pussy Liquor, which I wasnt expecting...but didnt play Black Sunshine, which is my favorite of his.

And after giving up and hitting submit I finally find a decent version of "Destination Venus" on TV

EDIT--Nevermind, someone just took the studio version and played in on top of the video. Whatevs.

EDIT 2--And they don't even bother to include the fake ending! Aargh!

Whoever programs the music there must be a fanatical fan of Dio era Rainbow, because in the last two hours I've lost count of the songs that have played from the 3 studio lp's Dio and Rainbow recorded together. And it's not just today. It's all the friggin' time.

Good thing that's my favorite Rainbow era. Whew!
