Tyralandi will never qualify to be an exalted character because she's not good aligned, and barring some major life-changing event, won't be any time soon. She's too quick to summon devils to do her bidding and play around with the undead to be counted as a goodie-two-shoes exalted character.

She wouldn't turn down the half-vampire template if it were offered to her, for example...

Yup! That`s exactly why I made a stupid :\

The half-vampire template on the other hand, now that I CAN see.

It took us 20 sessions to get through "The Whispering Cairn," though, so please don't get the impression that we move quickly. I did, after all, start this campaign before we even started editing Dungeon #124.

We've been at it for a while, now.

Heh. Makes me feel better!

Wow, and I felt bad when my group took somewhere around 8 sessions.

Well, you can probably tell by reading the first few pages of this thread, but we lingered a while in Diamond Lake because everyone seemed to be really enjoying it.

What does the class Disciple of the Green Lady do? What book is it in?
Thanks

It's a modified versin of the tenebrous apostate from Tome of Magic that I made up for the game. It's basically a binder/cleric prestige class that makes a binder/cleric combo less weird.

I posted the writeup for this prestige class over here, along with Tyralandi's stats (although they're a level out of date).

First of all, this journal is one of the best things I have ever seen. The depth to which you have entered Tyralandi's mind and portrayed her character is very impressive and inspirational to say the least. Secondly, let me thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to post all of this for the fans of your 3 excellent Adventure Paths. Finally, would it be possible to post skeletons builds of the other characters, just for ease of understanding? I'm not looking for full stat blocks, merely (Name, race, classes X/Y/Z).

Thanks and I hope to read more soon.

Thanks for thte reply. This is a great journal.

F yeah! Forget adventuring, I think we have a future in the arena. And to think it all took only 24 seconds.

Sounds like the company finally did something right the first time for a change. ;)

Holy crap last night's game was incredible. The group has really come into its own.

There's this great point in D&D, right around 9th or 10th level, where characters suddenly stop being pushovers and can put on a quite frightening display of power. When a group's played together for a year or more there's a sort of tactical symbiosis that goes on to make it all the more impressive.

The adventure we're on _will_ get more difficult, but last night Abelard's Band spanked three rival teams in the arena in a manner that shall not soon be forgotten in the City of Greyhawk.

Eh, those first 3 teams always get spanked :) They're a bunch of pansies!

Thats just so true! It`s like everything suddenly just comes together and the whole party knows just what to do -and what their companions are going to do- without any need for verbal discussion. And when it happens, the weird kind of symbiosis results in an almost uncanny display of team-work and ass-whupping that the players- and DM- will rememberand talk about for years.

I love that moment. Even afterwords, when the campaign conintues and the whole "stunning display of teamwork" becomes almost routuine, that first incident is the one that sticks in your mind. It`s a really special moment in gaming for any group, and I get all nostalgic whenever I hear about it happening for someone else. Brings back lots of good gaming memeories with lots of good friends, some of whom are no longer with us.

Yeah, I`m blathering on like the uber-geek that I am, but moments like that are some of the best I`ve ever experienced around a game table. Hack on guys, and well done.

Fellup Noade? Father Frothelthimble's replacement? How did the Lord Mayor and company react to the Mistmarsh Accord? And will Tyralandi take enough Knowledge (Nobility & Royalty) to know what all that cutlery at the Champion's Dinner is for?

There will be more... Gen Con made me sick, and I'm kind of posting this in a Nyquil fugue right now, so no posts now. We're playing again next Thursday, so I'll post the one entry I'm behind by then.

Emergen-C for the win. I made sure to take many with me, didn't need the convention funk on top of everything else.

I bet it was the 4E booth.

James Jacobs wrote:

NyQuil is useless nowadays. They took everything that was good out, and now it's just green goo. :(

James Jacobs wrote:

This tells me Wotc have released the 4e Virus, thus anyone whom got sick at Gen Con will convert to 4e and anyone they come into contact with. All those whom had blogs on the gen con Wotc site claimed to have been sick as well, and have already convert to 4e.

Nah, it still has the booze. The main change that I'm aware of was dropping psuedephedrine for that junk that doesn't work...thanks meth-heads!

Yes, but that's to be expected. What we really want to know is did Demon Boy, FF's replacement and Tirra manage to pull off a Kansas City Shuffle in the Chicago of the Flanaess? What did they think of the rain barrel man? Has Gar gotten any curious/furious visits from landlords about all that blood?

Rorg. Wants more.

I found this amusing:

My own gaming group had just finished Kings of the Rift when I told them where the guys who work for Paizo were in the campaign so far, and they were astonished. They thought that you had all played through the entire thing as a playtest of sorts, and began to wonder how you would fare against some of the homebrewed monsters you've cooked up to torment them with.

The guy playing the party's elf wizard, who's the only surviving character from the very begining of the campaign, wishes you lots of luck once you hit module seven.

Folks,

Sorry to say, the Age of Worms campaign is on a hiatus until Jason and I finish writing the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer, which should be finished in about a month.

So keep checking back here for more updates, but they won't be coming for at least four weeks.

Thanks for letting us know Eric.

Lol, poor James. He`s created a monster. Here he was quite happily sticking up a campaign journal evey couple weeks for his own amusement and the interest of his fellow journal junkie gamers only to develop a fan base as rabid as can be found at any Doctor Who convention.

Poor James.

And I`m not excluding myself from the rabid description by the way, if James doesnt post soon I may just have to bite em on the leg ;P. Not that Ive ever actually BEEN to a Dr WHo convention I might add.

I too will wait with baited breath for the Next Installment...

(so long as she doesn't die...)

Really, I have rarely enjoyed a campaign journal as I have this one. The amount of effort James puts into playing her, and her eccentricities, amazes me. James, you have given me a new desire to play a cleric, which I rarely do, on account of playing three at once in one very VERY long (6 years real time) time.

All hail the self-centered Cleric!

...but I though James was at least one session behind?!? He could post that...please.

While I agree with you Dithering Fool...I also do not want posting this Journal to be in any way annoying or unpleasant for Mr. Jacobs. We must NOT scare him away...btw James, the person lurking on your property is me.....just kidding.

I perfectly understand just how excited everyone on this forum is, but James spends a lot of time doing something with our beloved game systems that we don't. He has to work...on it. Granted he is paid for his trouble. But I can only think how burned out on gaming that can make you...trust me I have been running a nightly 1 on 1 campaign with my wife for about 5 years straight...I am absolutely FROTHING at the mouth for some group play...if there were actually any gamers in my hometown (I know they are there, but I have VERY high standards...). Its only my wife's penchant for wanting to play a different character every few weeks/months that has kept her from becoming who knows what level.

Lets give the man some room to breath, finish his projects, and relax.
And again, thank you for the wonderful thread James. Tyralandi's antics just make my day.

Yasha

I'm enjoying reading this thread. Thanks James! I'm glad you guys are behind us so I can read along with no fear of spoilers (plus either your DM's beefing it up because there's so many of you or our DM's making some alterations - because a lot of the encounters seem quite different). Good stuff! Please keep it coming when you have time.

The DM is both beefing it up and making some alterations.

Of course you are Erik, its not like your players worked on the campaign or anything... ^_^

It is also very heartwarming for a DM to see players that have a great deal of player knowledge of situations to just settle down and play as characters. Erik, you said, "Greatest Players in the World..."

I would have to agree, they are awesome! You personally seem to have a good knack for adding in small bits here and there that, while it may add some changes and spice, avoids detracting from the overall storyline. Wonderful job.

May I assume the Vampire that Demon Boy and the Drow (and the now Headless Gnome) tangled around with, Artor, was an adaptation of Artor Morlin from Waterdeep?

CURSE YOU Eldritch Mr. Shiny!!!

I saw the post at the top and thought a new entry had been posted....

Okay, I'm better now.

Anyway...Thanks for the Bump Eldritch Mr. Shiny, perhaps this thread shall soon be resurrected.

I'm still only just 1 post behind... and hopefully I'll get that 1 post put up here sometime by the next time we play, which may or may not be by the end of October... :(

We understand James. You've got a horrendous workload (in spite of the fact most of us would literally kill for your job) and production deadlines to meet, what with the transition going on and the frightening pace that you guys are working on Pathfinder.

Keep up the good work. I would also like to say that I really had little use for Dragon and Dungeon magazine, except for the occasional article that I found applicable for my campaigns. Once you guys took over, I became an avid follower of the magazines.
There are some benefits in working for a magazine distributor (but alas, no more Dungeon and Dragon now......WotC...grrr). I snatched up copies of just about everything as the opportunity arose.

I personally intend to continue my support of Paizo in perpetuity. The rest...well...we'll see. But you guys get my vote.

Thanks
