The most obvious reason being that's what they've been archetyped as for a couple of editions. Some folks really aren't getting the point that PFRPG isn't really a rewrite. It is a continuation with some improvements. Not everything is going to be different from what it already is. --Gurubabaramalamaswami
3.5 has this problem with benign transposition from the Spell Compendium. My wife's wizard used it in conjunction with summoned celestial dogs to bypass some walls of force that I'd intended to be lowered by task completion in the dungeon they were in. It bagged them a good treasure earlier than they were supposed to have it but I adjusted. That's what good DMs do...they roll with it and make adjustments. It's not just our game y'know. --Gurubabaramalamaswami

Sounds like a great idea. All you have to do is have Lashonna keep stalling on meeting with the PCs until events go as you wish. Good improvisation and usage of an important NPC.

Assuming you don't have a fireball first role-play via Speak With Dead group, that would be freaking awesome! First course...sweet & sour jermlaine kabobs! Gurubabaramalamaswami.
You guys are destroying my happy mental image of happy game designers who get to live the dream and play their cool stuff all the time. Schedules, deadlines, overtime...my God! You're mixing reality with our fantasy! Seriously you guys, don't forget to kick back and roll some dice. Gurubabaramalamaswami. |
