There is a VERY good chance of an update by Christmas, in fact.

Nice.

We are going to play again some time soon. Possibly as early as late January, depending on a few important factors.

Where ever you are Miss Tyralandi Scrimm - Merry Xmas !

Paizo Employee Creative Director

Alas... since I effectively spent the last 5 days in the Internet Black Hole... no new updates. :( Hopefully soon, though, now that I'm back in civilization!

Hopefully you got some well deserved R&R. Updates would make a perfectly fine New Years gift though...

for those waiting patiently (or not) for Tyralandi, and James as he doubtless hurries to transcribe more of her adventures, Happy New Year

Happy New Year all.

Perhaps James could stock up on caffeine and simply write Tyralandi's story as a novel.

I think we'd all settle for that...

Where is everybody?

James?

Erik?

...

Mr. Shiny?

The Paizo team are busy with 60+ hour weeks. James Jacobs gets asked about this thread every couple of weeks in the 'Pathfinder' chatroom sessions, and every time his answer is pretty much he's run off his feet with other, higher-priority, work right now.

Guys, seriously, STOP IT. It'll get done when it gets done, like Duke Nukem. Right now, you're just being annoying.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry. I've just been bumping the thread so I don't forget.

What?

So......it's been some time since my last post and still nothing.

Perhaps this journal should be pronounced dead?

It's certainly sleeping. I hope it's not dead, though! Erik has promised that we'll play again... but it HAS been about half a year since our last game. At this point, I'm pretty much holding off on doing the latest update to this journal until we're officially going to play again... once we've got an upcoming game, I'll make that post (mostly so that way those of us in the game will have something right then to remind us of where we are). Alternately, if Erik decides that the campaign is officially ended, I'll make that last post as well.

The teaser about how you guys kicked ass in the Champion's Games ir really what's got me in a twist. I'm dying to read about it.

[Cracking whip in Erik's direction] Dude! You make some of the awesomest D&D products ever. However, go forth now and PLAY D&D!

The Great Guru hath spoken.

We are going to finish The Champion's Belt, and then I am going to draw the campaign to a close.

Basically, what's been keeping us from playing is me writing the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer and designing "the rest of the world." I can't rightly take time off to play games when I'm behind on my deadline for that.

But I am nearly done (a huge draft is on James's desk for review at this very moment, in fact), so we WILL play again.

Then it is time for a Golarion campaign. I tire of my leisure time going to service someone else's trademarks. :)

Oooh, so sad!

Don't think of it in terms of trademarks, Erik. Greyhawk is your first love, and as we say 'first flame always burn' (not sure about the translation, but in french it works out).

BTW, thanks for all the things you DID for GH.

Burn!

Can't wait to read the campaign journal. *squee*

Which is, of course, another reason why I don't have time to write up a lengthy Tyralandi post... :-)

But when Erik starts up a Golarion campaign, be sure to check these boards for the brand-new Merisiel Journal, though!

Dark Archive

Those Golarion write ups could even be Pathfinder blogs, that way you can schedule in work time to keep it up :p

Wouldn't Greyhawk be Gary Gygax's Trademark? Although since that has been shanghaid by WOTC (among other things)...

No. Creator or not, Greyhawk hasn't belonged to Gygax for over two decades.

No way! It's just sleeping, waiting for the stars to be right and for Erik to get back into the DM's chair! I'll go pester him about it today, even!

The hour draws near. I need to help the team push through the manuscript for the 256-page Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting in the next couple of weeks, and then it will be smooth sailing from there.

Ha! That was easy!

(dusts off Tyralandi's character sheet...)

the it would appeaer that the news of it's demise was...incorrect. Never been happier to be wrong.

Did getting the dust off require Universal Solvent?
Just wondering...

I have to agree with the others though, so nice to be wrong about this journal!

Dare I allow myself to feel giddy anticipation? Too late!

I'd like to be wrong, but I suspect it's going to be a while yet before we see a journal entry- Erik did mention in his post 256 pages which he needs to push through before he has the time spare to even think about resuming running the campaign, and I doubt if things always stay on schedule in publishing.
However by the sound of it, the end may now finally be in sight.

Well... I AM one journal entry behind. I can write that one up at any time I get the time and energy to do so; we don't have to have played. I'd rather time it for a point where I know we're close to playing again, though, for various reasons.

gonna need just a little more of Mordenkainen's Lubrication....if memory serves, it was always just enough for his purposes.

A fat kudo if anyone can place THAT spell reference!

I can... but that'd be cheating.

Ah well.

We can always hope that if this campaign does meet its end, the Paizo boys will start up a Golarion campaign and Mr. Jacobs will create for us another memorable character.

I liked Tyralandi though, she was really interesting.

LOL. When you absolutely must have a 1200 page book full of sex, drug, and alcohol spells ranging from 0-10th level....Though I must say, F.A.E. will always be my favorite spell of all time. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be any more alcohol dragons roaming the breweries anymore :(

1200 page.. hmm.. talking about a certan AD&D tome.. cause that was less then 100 pages? I can't think of a D20 tome like that.. of that size. *snickers*

If it is a supplement for 3E, what tome might that be? Peak my interest.. sounds like a party book. :)

That would be the original, unedited great netbook of spells, 2nd edition. There's probably still a few copies floating about. I spent a 4 day weekend once removing all of the sex, alcohol, and prank jokes to build and actual working Book of horrors...shrunk from 571K words to 187K...pretty amazing. Held such gems as Personal nuke: material component a 1 kilo chunk of uranium...you've carried for at least a year. Or soul sundering, allowing you to explode in a burst of energy - dealing d12 points per level with no save. It had a 75% chance of destroying you forever...or you were dumped on a random level of the abyss - naked, at 1st level clutching the one material component - wait for it! - a platinum dagger.

IT was a lot of fun to use before the official 2nd ed. tome of magic was released.

I will now attempt to return this thread to it's original topic by inquiring as to Dame Scrimm's health and circumstances. Anyone?

anyone at all?

Liberty's Edge

She's having a lesbian affair with Lashonna, all the while plotting to overthrow Kyuss. I'm positive.

OK, can we get any information on that spooky violin? I was listening to Bach's Concerto for Two Violins in D minor on the way to work this morning and started to reminisce on this thread...

Liberty's Edge

Please, Mr. Jacobs, sir?

Paizo Employee Creative Director

Although I'm home sick today with a sore throat and general malaise about the sinus and breather... I'll post the stats for Tyralandi's violin tomorrow.
