I could just be being contrary for the sake of stirring something up. Or maybe the directors are messing with everyones' heads to give them the impression you have. If you mean do I have some kind of inside scoop, nothing I'm going to share. Sorry. But let me change what I said previously to you probably are.

Heres a lil sumthin to tide you over. Youve seen the dramatic turn of the prairie dog youtube clip, well here it is again...but in a better place.

and HERE is EVERY utterance of S.O.B. by Sawyer over the three years. Not for kiddies.

Yes it is. Any speculation on...

Spoiler:
...who the "Oceanic Six" are?

We already this includes....

Spoiler:
...Jack, Kate, and Hurley. This is interesting, because Hurley clearly aligned with Locke's group at the end of the show. It'll be interesting to see how he ends up being with the ones who are "rescued".

I didn't catch this when I originally saw Season 3, but...

Spoiler:
When I re-watched the "Man behind the curtain" which I believe is when Ben takes Locke to see Jacob.. right after Ben is telekinetically thrown across the room.. if you freeze frame them the DVD, you can really see a ghostly Jacob sitting in the rocking chair. He's only there for a frame or two...

Likewise..

Spoiler:
My wife claims to have seen him in the first episode of the new season. She has sharper eyes than I do.

Aberzombie wrote:

Spoiler:
I would guess Sawyer is one of them. Jack went a funeral where no one else shows up. He then, rather reproachfully, suggests that he thought at least Kate would go.

She doesn't quite snap, "Why would I go to the funeral?"

Just my hunch.

Spoiler:
I saw a rumor that Michael is coming back in episode 8 of this season.

Watcher -

Spoiler:
Yes you can see someone in the chair in latest ep . . .it is Christian, Jack's father! Blew my mind in a good way.

Oceanic Six guesses -

Spoiler:
We know Jack, Kate, Hurley. My guess is Sun & Jin (they want off to have their baby) and Sayid (just a hunch). As for Sawyer, I have a real bad feeling he dies on the island. And seriously I loved the ending of the latest ep . . .they lead us to believe that going with Locke is a good idea, and then Hurley apologizes to Jack and admits he was wrong. God I love this show.

On Michael -

Spoiler:
Here is my guess on how he comes back. We eventually see flash forwards of Jack getting back to the island, Michael is with him.

The Last Rogue is correct about Jacob's identity...At least thats who you see in the chair when Hurley sees him.

Crazy.

I'm really hoping it all makes sence come the final episode. I really love the show.

Did you see the special message from Oceanic Airlines that aired durring the show following the season premier of Lost?

If not you can find it on Youtube. Warning! Its lame. However the guy interrupting the signal is the same guy who parachuted down and showed up at the episode's end.

I was hoping it would be the start of some cool contest or puzzle.. :(

Jack is off his rocker
Locke is in the coffin(John Locke had very few friends in the the real world.)
Kate is with Sawyer

I missed crazy Jack. My need for a hot doctor addicted to pain killers is relieved.

Has any one thought of what the main characters' class levels would be? I seriously think only Sayid, Kate, Danielle, Mikail, and Ben would have real (as in, fighter, rogue, etc) class levels, while everyone else would be some combination of expert/adept/commoner.

Kate prolly only has a level or two in ranger, maybe a level in rogue. Sayid definently has some fighter levels, or even monk. Danielle is a ranger, fo sho. Mikail is some crazy russian class we don't even know about. And Ben is psionic.

Liberty's Edge

A guess in regards to the Oceanic Six:

Spoiler:
The six are not rescued from the island but find a way to escape – or at least their getting off the island has nothing to do with the current “rescue”. The fact that there are only six indicates that either everyone else is dead or there are still other survivors left on the island; the conversations between Hurley and the “Oceanic Lawyer”, Hurley and Charlie and Hurley and Jack indicate the latter to me.

There are still survivors on the island, and the rest of the world does not know about them – the “Six” are claiming to be the only survivors.

If the six escaped rather than being rescued, they may not be the ones who most wanted to leave the island, but merely the ones who had the opportunity – that makes identifying the other three members difficult.

I initially thought that the person in the coffin was either Sawyer or Locke … I now don’t think it’s Locke. I’m not sure that Jack would go to his funeral, and I don’t (at this stage) see any reason why he would leave the island, either through rescue or escape. On the other hand, he’s probably the most likely to end up in a box if he did leave the island.

Scarab Sages

Man, this show just keeps getting weirder. That's OK though, because I like weird.

Spoiler:
Polar Bears in Tunisia? WTF?

Matthew Abaddon - this guy is just plain creepy. First we see him in a flash forward questioning Hurley, last night in a flash back hiring Naomi and the Helicopter 4. Could he be DHARMA? That's my guess. I got his name from the Wikipedia Lost entry.

And what's with the "wreckage" of Oceanic 815 found on the ocean floor (complete with bodies). Is that some big set-up by DHARMA, or is it a version of the plan from a parallel earth?

Lastly, what the hell is going on with this whole Jacob/Walt/mysterious cabin thing. Locke thinks the cabin is in one direction, and contains Walt. Hurely found it somewhere else, and saw someone who could possibly be Christian Sheppard. We already knew that Ben thought of it as Jacob's home.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

Okay, having loved this show since it aired during my honeymoon, I have to weigh in here:

First, was anyone active in the alternate reality game? Does anyone know the purpose of the Dharma Initiative? or the origins of the Valenzetti occasion? This is a good place to talk about that, as long as we keep the spoiler tags ready.

Second: I originally thought Ben (still want to call him F'enry) was in the caskett. I get that some might think it's Locke: loner and all. But I think satisfaction for Locke's story requires either that he die on the island a villain, he not leave the island ever (although, conceivably no one could be in the coffin and it could still be Locke's funeral), or that he die on the island a hero.

I prefer Locke remain on the island to safeguard whatever dangerous truths remain there. I also love Ben as much as I hate him, and I prefer there be some grudging acceptance that Ben had a point, which is why Jack might have a hard time keeping away from the funeral. Miserable without the opportunity to lead and survive on a supernatural island full of mystery, I think Jack is drawn to Ben because he understand why Ben worked so hard to stay and keep more researchers from finding the island. After all, they're the good guys.

Third: Kate says in the s3 finale something like 'I have to go, he'll be wondering where I am.' I think therefore Sawyer is kate's choice, is alive off the island, and still harbors some resentment or jealousy about Jack.

I think Hurley regrets choosing Locke because something about that hurt Jack's feelings. But I think we are under-respecting Locke's value to the show to say that Hurley made a wrong decision. After all, being sorry he went with Locke and being wrong about going with Locke are two different things.

At this time, if I were to argue for two more members of the Oceanic Six, I would consider Desmond and Sayid. While my theory holds holes, Desmond is not a satisying story without getting back to Penny and Sayid has Nadia to return to (Locke can tell him where she lives and that she is single), can pilot the helicopter, and has made the statement 'I don't mind giving my life for the others...' which is the opposite of what will happen. Maybe it's Locke who has to give his life for Sayid...

Yeah, I freakin love this show.

I just recently got into lost as I watched maybe 40 min scattered over 5 episodes the first 3 seasons. But since Jan 17th I watched all 3 seasons and have seen the 1st 2 this year and I can honestly say it is one of my 5 favorite shows period.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

Ah...you poor fella. You missed all the internet content then. I wonder if there's a way to reconstruct it so you can experience it for the first time.

Lost had one of the best web sites I have ever seen. I'll check it out and see what can be rediscovered.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

Well, it has been too long, and though it looks like there's new content out there to discover, it might be impossible to see all the older stuff for the first time.

I recommend this: go to oceanic-air.com and book a flight. Play with a flight lan all you want, but don't forget the numbers in the process.

4 8 15 16 23 42. Those numbers are saving the world, man.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

For those of you who speculate that the helicopter four are from Dharma, I think you're right. The polar bear scene confirms it I think.

I think the others don't age as long as they serve the island. We know the story features elements from a hundred different island/survival/human nature/fantasy/sci fi sources, and I think Peter Pan comes into play here. An island that survives on conflict, brought to life by Dharma, and that the world has trouble getting to.

I don't know how the supplies get to the island, except to submit that the same supply shipment is caught in time and deposits regularly.

For those who questioned what Dhamra was trying to do on the island, I know for a fact they are trying to save the world from one of six impending calamities (let's see how my memory is: nuclear devastation, plague, overpopulation, ahhh, crap. I will add here laughable things that could end the world like global warming, country music and the Army of Barbi.)

Okay, now I guess I'm gonna brush up on my king fu.

Liberty's Edge

What's 'Lost?' I've never heard of this show. Is it new?

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

I will take partial points for choosing Sayid, though I confess I don't see Nadia in his future off the island.

Other early calls made for last night's episode:

-Sayid taking the ghostbuster just to trade him for charlotte.
-Kate staying with Sawyer (too easy).
-Sayid not a hired killer - working a list to slow down Dharma. My wife actually called that Ben was his 'employer' after about four words from his heavily modified voice.

"Send that little piggy off to market." - priceless, if stolen from Payback.

Whoo! Kate has a baby! Who's the daddy, who's the daddy, who's the daaaddy!?

Oh.

Spoiler:

It's Aaron. Lame. At least Claire doesn't leave and can't whine about the bay-bee anymore.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

Again, totally called that the baby was aaron. Begs the question: what happens to claire? I guess Jack couldn't save her from some injury and that's why he won't see the baby.

Then again, because of the writers' strike (damn unions!), things are going to change awfully fast in the last ten episodes of the season.

So...it begins to look like Aaron is the 'he' in "he'll be wondering where I am", so I am taking Sawyer off my Oceanic 6 list. Also taking off Desmond, as he wasn't on the flight and I won't be duped into thinking that there aren't 8 or 10 people getting off the island just because they throw out an Oceanic Six.

So, that puts us back at Sayyid, Jack, Kate, Hurley.

Still bothered by the idea that Jack Shepherd might be alive and back at the hospital.

Now that we know Ben is alive off the island, I am more convinced than ever that it was his funeral.

The Exchange

Ooh Lost...suspiciously the island seems to have some temporal offset as it drifts further and further back through time since they turned the KEY...at somepoint it will exist in the past where the Polar Bear will escape to north Africa and be found in a Dig with the Darma Group dogtag around its neck...so fragments of its future existance should start turning up.

I so love the string theory/possibility manipulation aspects of this show.

Like the people in the hut whose existance has a possibility bandwidth offset so no one can see them unless they were infact from the hut...and share a common possibility bandwidth.

I was slow, didn't figure that out until I heard the name.

But I DID make that connection as soon as I heard the name!

Possibly. Or Claire is still alive on the island, but they took the baby with them (possibly against Claire's will). OR Jack thinks the baby is somehow tainted by the island, given that it was born there apparently only due to the intervention of the Others.

Damn. My TiVo cut out before the end of the episode.

Can anyone spoil the last minute or so of the episode for me?

Spoiler:
The damn thing cut out just as Desmond and Penelope were telling each other they love each other. I imagine there was some quick little twist at the end, but I missed it.

Can anyone fill me in?

First off that was a great romantic scene. THey go on with quick cuts between the two (Desmond "I love you" P "I love you" basically they promise to never stop looking for each other -- Then it cuts back to the island and we se Faraday looking through his journals, he is flipping the pages backwards . . .there is a new entry in red ink "If there is trouble, Desmond Hume is MY constant." fade to black

Nice. Thanks.

Very cool episode.

No prob.

So far I think Lost is knocking it out of the park this season; I have been impressed with each episode to date.

YeuxAndI wrote:

Whoo! Kate has a baby! Who's the daddy, who's the daddy, who's the daaaddy!?

Oh.
** spoiler omitted **

Or ...

Spoiler:
Kate already had a son, named Aaron (like that coincidence isn't possible).

Now this part might creep some out. Here is my theory.

Kate was molested by her step-dad/real dad and got pregnant. This is what actually caused her to kill him. So she was pregnant when she went on the run. Somewhere along the line she had the kid (named Aaron) and left him with someone, clearly not her mother. The toy plane that she stole from the safe at the very beginning was his, that is why she wanted it. Also she had a hysterectomy at the time when the child was born, that is why she wasn't worried about being pregnant.

She has realized she really wants to be a part of her son's life, so she is willing to leave the island despite the fact that she knows she'll probably be arrested again. Watch the exchange between her and Claire again, the meaningful looks when Claire says, "You should think about being a mom sometime." She already is one, but hasn't acted like it and now is wanting to, but still afraid of failing. It is also another reason she didn't want him used during the trial, as it would have inevitably lead to the question, who is his father, which would have lead to her real reason for killing her father.

Besides, there is no logical way Claire's Aaron could be Kate's Aaron. Let's say she takes the kid with her, ok. They get rescued, and they get asked, who's kid. They answer, a woman named Claire who asked Kate to raise the kid. Nope, that is not going to work. First off, the kid would go to Claire's family first, as their are the closest relatives. Second, nobody is going to give custody of someone else's kid to a person charged with murder and arson. So no, I am not buying that Kate's Aaron is the same as Claire's Aaron. Besides he just looked too old.

Or ...

** spoiler omitted **

Just to be the devil's advocate...

Spoiler:

Kate's stepdad is her real dad. Granted, he was a total douche so maybe he got her preggers but I doubt it. Also, the airplane was something that Kate and her first 'love' Tom buried in a time capsule. I think its a symbol of her innocence and of her healing on the Island.

Kate doesn't want to be pregnant becuase women who get pregnant on the Island die. Also, I don't think she wants to have Sawyer's kid (they're bad match, even though I love 'em they definently should not be togethor) and is scared of being tied down.

I don't think Claire has any family left. Her mom was in a coma and I think she cut ties with everyone else. It would be easy for Kate to claim that Claire survived the crash and then died in childbirth. Or Kate could claim Aaron as her own. It's obvious that the Oceanic 6 are extremely famous, so the pressure on the courts to let Kate keep her child would probably be enough that they would. I mean, it took Britney Spears like 3 tries to lose custody of her kids. But she didn't kill anyone, so I dunno.

As fully revealed in the last episode, time is funky on the Island. Maybe becuase he was born there, Aaron is effected physically by leaving? Maybe they don't get off for several more years?

Oh and did anyone else think he looked like he had some kind of handicapp? Maybe it was just becuase he just woke up, but he seemed all rolly and not quite right.

Scarab Sages

Some things I'll mention:

Spoiler:
Regarding Claire, it has already been shown that Christian Sheppard is her father, which makes Jack her half-brother. That could be a reason why Jack doesn't want to see Aaron.

Regarding Desmond: He has become one of my favorite characters. I enjoy every episode that focuses on him. This latest was no exception. I hope that he and Penny get back together.

Regarding Ben's agent on the freighter: I think it will be Michael. No proof, just a hunch. They said he'd be coming back to the show, and that makes the most sense to me.

I can't wait to see what could make Sayid work for Ben. That was one of the most interesting developments this season, besides the Kate raising Aaron thing.

All in all, this has been one incredible season so far. I was glad to see they are going to film more episodes now that the strike is over.

Well then things are indeed turning again, next week looks like it's kick into high gear again! Man I Love this show!

Spoiler:
Jin is he dead? Or is he still on the Island perhaps watching sun via a camera hidden in that tomb stone?

Wow, I just watched the season finale, and I'm shocked no one is talking about it here...

That episode rocked. The Sayid-Keamy fight was one of the best I've seen on TV. There was plenty of revelations including the person in the coffin. BTW, there is two alternate endings to that floating online. Apparently they wanted to prevent spoilers before broadcast. Since we had all these flashforwards to the Oceanic 6 who are 3 years in the future, my guess for next season is that the O6 will be 'present day' while the flashback scenes will be those left on the island.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned that Aaron needed to be raised by Claire and no one else because he will become a very bad person or end the world or something if anyone but Claire raises him. Now that Jack and Kate have him (at least for a time) he is on track to become the Anti-Christ...

Shem wrote:

Except Claire is dead so he's kinda gonna be the Anti-Christ anyway?

Wasn't one of Desmond's 'prophesies' to Charlie that he saw Claire and the baby getting on a helicopter on the beach? or something like that?

I'm glad they are eliminating people, but I'm not sure Claire is out of it yet. The island 'fixed' Locke a couple times...maybe it can do the same for her?

Dark Archive

At this point not only will Claire need to be 'alive' but there will have to be some kind of timetravel explanation for Aaron to even get on a helicopter with her as a baby. I'd say regarding Claire& Aaron's mysteries either the writers have a way thought out or they wrote themselves into a corner they couldnt get out of w/o killing her off. Then again the simple answer may be Kate got on the chopper with Aaron instead and Desmond (who was on the frigate) saw incorrectly. Whatever the case if Claire doesn't live to raise Aaron, Charlie sacrificed himself for nothing I think.

I heard she was coming back too. That's cool, I like her.

Are you sure he was busted for DUI recently? I think he was busted for DUI a year or two ago. If he was busted recently, that would make it the second time!

Scarab Sages

I'm really looking forward to the start of new episodes next week. This show has really managed to keep my interest.

As an aside, my co-worker and I were talking about J.J. Abrams and the new Star Trek, and I commented that it might be cool if he could get Leonard Nimoy to do a guest spot on Lost.

Maybe Nimoy's in the flashback dealing with the indestructible Russian guy, "Patch". He plays some sort of mystic that unlocks the Russians latent ability to take massive amounts of damage and still come back. All that leads to the twist of the Russian returning after exploding a grenade in his hand! Sure, he has a little nerve damage and a big blister, but otherwise, he comes gunning after the rest of the survivors!
