It's the Final Countdown!

Join in the last hours of the Pathfinder Online kickstarter!

You've answered the call to kickstart our Pathfinder Online technology demo—but will you saddle up for the final hours of our journey?

We've met our initial goal of $50,000—and then some! Every stretch goal we've set up for the Pathfinder Online technology demo has been met, from the Isle of 2,000 Backers to the Forest of $150,000, but will you find the Planar Rift to the $250,000 Zone? Every step of our stretch goals has meant that you have gotten another level added to that wretched hive of scum and villainy, Thornkeep! This dangerous place was initially designed as just a simple dungeon, penned by industry veteran Rich Baker, but every met goal has added more levels crafted by writers that long-time tabletop gaming fans will recognize—Jason Bulmahn, James Jacobs, Erik Mona, and with the $200,000 goal met, Ed Greenwood as well! Because we've done so phenomenally, the print version of the Thornkeep book (available if you pledge $50 or more) has grown from a 64-page book to 96—that's the size of one of our Adventure Path volumes!

Because we reached other stretch goals for the demo, if you've pledged $75 or more, you'll get your printed copy of the Thornkeep book autographed by all of the dungeon's authors. Even better, your copy of Thornkeep will contain a special bookplate autographed by Ed Greenwood, as well as legendary artist Wayne Reynolds! Not enough for you? If we hit $250,000, we'll kick in not one, but TWO Flip-Mats that will represent all four of the additional dungeon levels, as PDFs if you've pledged $30 or more, and in print if you pledge $100 or more!

Check out all of the details about the Pathfinder Online Technology Demo at Kickstarter, and keep abreast of all the exciting development news from Goblinworks on their blog!

We have all witnessed the amazing feats that can be accomplished through the support of Pathfinder fans, and the use of social medias. Through this Kickstarter campaign we, as a body of gamers, are a testament of what can be accomplished under one vision and the support of one another.

I do have some concerns regarding incentives for "low-level" supporters. Since I am going to utilize the Thornkeep book in PFS, the incentive of signatures does not thrill me much nor does the book plate as I will most likely use that book to the fullest. I was hoping for something small that can be given to all supporters since we passed the 3000 backers point and are on the verge of 3500 supporters. Whether it be a custom d20, a decal, a lanyard, whatever it may be; just something that represents the support of all backers and not the ones that spend $75 to $100 minimum.

I do apologize if this comes across as greedy or selfish as that is not my intention. Thank you for letting me have a voice on these boards...

Congratulations! Just a small edit to your post above. This should read $50 or more, not $75:

Just a note, the (unsigned) book plus pdf is available to $50 pledges.

Goblin Squad Member

Wow TWO Flip-Mats at the $100 level? No way I can resist that sort of temptation! O_O

Will the flip mats be made available for sale too or are they limited to the kickstarter?

Five level dungeon with James and Ed? Very tempting...

I would love to contribute but Amazon doesn't accept Paypal and I don't use credit cards.

If you could get an Image of the T-Shirt out, it would ease my decision wether to upgrade from 50 to 100 USD.

Liberty's Edge Goblin Squad Member

This is exciting! I wonder how much higher it will get? Just upped my pledge, may yet again if I can finagle the finances...

Goblinworks Founder

I've had to stop my contribution at $250. I wish I could give more but I need to eat this week.

Sovereign Court Goblin Squad Member

Damnation, I was going to pledge $50, but now I have to go $100, the flip mats are worth it.

Of course this go-se computer doesn't work with the kickstarter page at work...

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

will the book be available any other way or do I have to risk divorce and pledge 50$ ?

It's likely, but there is no guarantee. They'll be printing more than they need, but not necessarily lots more.

There also hasn't been any word on pricing other than the usual comments about not wanting to devalue the commitment of those who paid before release. (so I doubt it will be as cheap as paizo sourcebooks usually are).

Liberty's Edge Goblin Squad Member

$250 000 reached! I'm getting me some Flip-Mats!

Sovereign Court Goblin Squad Member

So what's the 275K goal?

Shadow Lodge Goblin Squad Member

On the Kickstarter page they said no more stretch goals so finalize the level you want.

Scarab Sages Goblinworks Executive Founder

I am happy to partake!

<3 If that reference references what I think you're referencing, I love you.

If not... well you're alright. ;)

I FINALLY GOT TO PLEDGE TODAY! I only get paid once a month, and my pay day happened to be on the last day of the fundraiser. I wanted to go for the level that nets me the print version of the book, but there is also the ARG coming up this month...

At any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of this project!

Here, let me torment you...

The $100 level will get you two flip mats, and the T shirt, I figure with math, that product more than covers the diffence in levels.

<-- Evil, ask either of my ex-wives.

Yeah, I thought it was shiny, too.

Blah suddenly I can't live without Flip-Mats...

Shhhh I just didn't tell the wife. But I'll be without disposable income for the next 2 weeks. Hopefully the gas holds out lol.

I'd take it as a kindness if you didn't...

Oh... Pfht. No anguish here. Flip mats would be awesome, but I can live without. $100 is just too far out of my minimum wage, college level budget.

And you're not evil! You're just scaley! ;)

Goblin Squad Member

I'm sure there'll be leftover Flip-Mats to be had from the print run, same as with the Modules.

I plan to buy another one when they get put up on the Site, since I'd like to keep my autographed one in Pristine Condition :)

That's a good point. Paizo/GoblinWorks really should have made a 2 book bundle an option for the pledges. I wonder if it's too late... ?

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

Yeah... I swore I was signing up just to be supportive. Then... they kept offering me cool stuff. My pledge just kept creeping up the more they put in for stretch goals. I was already interested in a Crystal Frasier designed T-shirt... once they put the flip-mats in there... that was it, I was in. I'd complain that I need a job with more $, but who am I kidding, I'd just buy more gaming stuff.

Someone help me... I have an addiction.

The Exchange Goblin Squad Member

Currently, the count is 1438 copies of the book that Erik, James, Jason, and Rich will be signing. (And an equal number of bookplates for Wayne and Ed.) I expect my book's signatures to look like six random ink-trails.

I caved. Curse you, I caved. Upped to $50. Time to go digging in the couch for spare change.

Ah, $100 isn't much more. Just sell the couch!

Heheh

That's how I got to $100, in small $25 steps :)

And of course I had to pledge ... what, a Pathfinder book that I wouldn't own?!? Preposterous!

Now to figure out how to pay the mortgage this month :)

One of the mistakes that many Kickstarters make is that a significant percentage of the money they raise ends up going to cover postage and other "hidden costs" of reward fulfillment. It's very deliberate that none of our rewards involve shipping anything until the $50 level...

Oh, I wish. But, well....the shirt and flip mats aren't worth it. If anything, I would have upped to $75 to get it signed. But, that is what conventions are for.

Vic, will we be able to pay extra for priority international shipping? (and/or be able to bundle the tangible goodies with our subscriptions?)

You'll definitely be able to bundle stuff with your subs. Not immediately sure quite how we could implement the "paying extra for faster" part, but it *might* be possible.

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

I'm in at $100

Goblin Squad Member

Cheers. (I was thinking something as simple as dumping it in the sidecart and then choosing "ship as soon as possible" which from the sounds of it, I'll be able to do myself - I wouldn't expect any discount on the priority shipping option).

Congratulations, by the way. Must have been an exciting time in the office. :)

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

Any stretch goals for $275k or $300k?

Goblin Squad Member

No. The flip mats was the last.

Liberty's Edge Goblin Squad Member

I threw in a couple of bucks.

So is the office freaking out yet?

Dark Archive Goblin Squad Member

If it gets to 300k they better have another stretch bonus :P

Goblin Squad Member

8,500 shy of 300K with 2 hours to go. It would be pretty sweet to make 300.000, even if there are no extra stretch goals - of course, a bonus at 300K would be sweeter still.

But the again - the flipmats already made me go from $15 to $100 - no way I'm paying more. I have to save for the RotRL anniversary book too.

Goblin Squad Member

Did I miss an update somewhere?

"Because we've done so phenomenally, the print version of the Thornkeep book (available if you pledge $75 or more) has grown from a 64-page book to 96—that's the size of one of our Adventure Path volumes!"

I'd understood the [unsigned] print version to be part of the $50 pledge level. Did it get shifted to the $75 level because of the page increase? That doesn't seem to be indicated on the Kickstarter page as of today.

Goblin Squad Member

No, pretty sure that's just a typo.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

@Damon
At $75 you get the signed copy - $50 still gets you an unsigned copy

If we hit the $300,000 there will be a new dungeon level added by Gary Gygax! Just kidding, but wouldn't that be awesome!

I was not able to contribute but I feel I have done my part by spreading the word around on social media's. Going from hobby shop to hobby shop spreading the word around. I have been answering people's questions to help them understand what this is all about.

Anyway, this is true testament of fan support. Paizo has treated the fans well, therefor the fans will treat Paizo well with this type of financial support. I can't wait to purchase the Thornkeep book when it comes out. Thanks to the fans the book will be better than ever! I'm sure the MMO will work out well in the end even tho I don't play MMO's. Another certified glorious victory by Paizo and Pathfinder!

Todd Morgan wrote:

No more stretch goals, according to Ryan. They wanted everyone to have this last day to finalize their selection. If they'd kept announcing new stretch goals, there would have been people who weren't able to change their pledge in time, and who then missed out on something they really wanted.

Sovereign Court Goblin Squad Member

Ok finally we're in for $100.

Fixed my typo in the blog. D'oh. >.>

Sovereign Court Goblin Squad Member

wow, can we hit 6K in 90 minutes?

Edit fixed my number.
