A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

Hellknight forces have forcibly taken over Citadel Altaerein, the abandoned Hellknight citadel on the edge of Breachill, a small town in Isger, while also leading a reign of terror on the innocent civilians and the leadership alike. The Eagle Knights of Andoran have called upon the Pathfinder Society for backup while they handle the citadel, requesting that they rescue the civilians and prevent any unneeded harm. While the Pathfinders are moving throughout the town, they learn of a secret way into the citadel, and though it's not without its dangers and threats, they could learn so much from the enemy...

Huh. I guess they must have grabbed it while my 20th level characters were on vacation...

Ooh, Matt are you going to be at GenCon? We should totally meet! I cannot wait to play this one (after GenCon, since I am running something else and never get to play anything while at the convention.)

I am so excited for another Matt Duval masterpiece!

    Hmm

Desperately want to play this with our 20th level AOA party just to curbstomp the silly Hellknights that think they can take our house.

I played through Age of Ashes with a freedom-minded halfing swashbuckler. This brings back fond memories!

I hope this explains why none of the PCs from AoA are there and that the Citadel is abandoned again.

That would probably fit the one hour time slot with time to spare!

Froom past experiences, the most I personally expect might be a mention in a timeline that "heroes" restored it, defended it, and left somewhere. *Vague hand shaking in air*

All APs canon have their heroes' fate unknown, and never have them settling down locally, to not unbalance the power level of the regions. (Also, they can't predict what everyone will do, so if a GM want to integrate past PCs, they would have to make changes anyway as Paizo's assumptions would 100% of the time be somewhat wrong.)
Also, this is a Society adventure, with very limited page count.

    Liberty's Edge

4 people marked this as a favorite.

All the PCs who won previous APs were summoned by the setting's true creators to find and accompany any and all creatures who fell under the curse known as the OGL debacle out of reality so that the whole of it would not come crashing down in the doom known as the IP lawsuit.

Truly a quest worthy of mighty heroes.

In the collective mind of reality, this epic event is now known as the Remaster.

    Spoiler:
Though some insist on calling it The Gap.

Not everyone came back through it unscathed though, or even at all (cough **Oracles** cough).
