A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 5th- through 8th-level characters.
As part of the secret agreement between the underworld dragon Valashinaz and the Waterfall, a group of Pathfinders is sent to a small island off of Minata to gather a collection of skymetals from an abandoned temple to Valashinaz. As the temple was abandoned ages ago, the island should be uninhabited, however the Pathfinders quickly discover this isn't so and someone has made their home on the island. The Pathfinders will need to dodge these new inhabitants while collecting the treasure, all while also making sure to avoid Valashinaz's beloved pet squishies. Those akatas have one rough bite...
Its rather short scenario with fun bits, chase is great scene but information for it was easy to miss since its two pages earlier on sidebar, my biggest nitpick is "since when [spoiler] work like xenomorphs from later movies and base their form on the host? I mean its cool art, but I'm pretty sure they just spawn as bipedal tentacle quadruped thing and not in other forms, or are buso somehow special?" and scenario doesn't really explain "why" they exist, just says it can happen rarely (which is good enough excuse yeah I might use as gm as well, but is pretty handwavey), so it strikes to me as one of those non canon one off things. Zombie art in general is fun here.
This is a pretty fun scenario, if a bit short. The island setting is a pretty interesting one, with a nice backstory. The encounters are fine - both lean a bit on the easier side (especially the first one) but the situations were interesting enough. The chase in this worked really well! There's been imo a bit of an overuse of them this season but this one felt perfect: it makes sense as a chase, there's interesting ongoing consequences for advancing slowly beyond just 'you need to get there in X rounds' and I enjoyed how the table's actions throughout the scenario could affect it.
I wish there was perhaps a bit more mystery or complication on the isle for the PCs to discover (as mentioned, this is a fairly short scenario). But I had a good time.
My party tends to faff about a lot and even with a larger than usual
amount of banter, we cranked this one out in three hours flat. I know that may sound like a good thing, but it is not. There wasn't much to this scenario.
I will give this scenario credit where it is due though. The chase was actually rather well done, and the scenario did not overstay its welcome with fluff. The fights felt like they were here for a reason, even if they were on the easier side.
Overall, a straightforward scenario with straightforward elements and straightforward execution. One star off for being, honestly, a bit too short.
Not a whole lot to say about this one. The location is pretty dull and if youre not enamored with the monster here there just isnt a lot to sink your teeth into.
There were two combats, the first of which was so dull and uninteresting it barely registered until i opened the scenario again to do this review.
The chase scene was fine but really punished party members with low skill pools like clerics and champions.
The 2nd combat was pretty solid but not the most engaging. Even with the party struggling a bit in the second combat they were done in 2 hours. A little more meat on the bone please.
I played this one at high tier with about 33cp. Its an enjoyable romp of an adventure but was really very short. We finished in less than 3 hours. Two combats and one pseudo chase scene are fine but if you have a very well prepped GM and a table which works well together it wont take long. The first encounter felt especially underwhelming.

Am I crazy? (Actually don't answer that) but in the final Chase is there a penalty for not moving to the next obstacle in a round? I thought on my initial read-through I saw automatic damage from a certain creature but re-reading as I prepare I don't see it

Sorry but last minute prep and I hoped to clarify before I run, in the chase does the *pursuers* move at the start of each round after the 2nd or do they require successful skill rolls and chase points like the party? I want to ensure I’m running this as fair as I can
Have other people come up with fun ways to use the Abysium art in their playthroughs? It's not specifically mentioned in the adventure text, so I'm curious if people just used it for token art or incorporated it in other ways~
