A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–4 (subtiers 1–2 and 3–4).
The Pathfinders travel to Iobaria, where elven druids and centaur warriors are united against an unlikely threat: a self-propogating horde of corrupted leshys! The source of the Abyssal corruption may be tied to a previous trip to Iobaria by the Pathfinder Society, so it falls to the PCs to seek out the source of the leshy incursion and restore balance to the woodlands.

I really enjoyed this as did my players. I ran it as a simple oneshot in Fantasy Grounds. There are a lot of cool little touches in the module that my players liked. No spoilers here, but I would wholeheartedly recommend this adventure!
[Disclaimer: I played this with an excellent GM, and also had to read it as research for my own scenario, so I spent more time with it than I usually would while playing or running a scenario.]
This scenario is not only a lot of fun, but sets the stage for a lot of Season 2 stuff and meta-plot stuff as well. Interesting NPCs, and situations that can be solved in a variety of ways should provide a fun experience no matter what your party likes best.
For GMs - this may take a bit more prep than average to make sure you can pull off the various NPCs and be able to handle creative solutions your PCs may come up with. We tended to fight what we were expected to talk to and talk to what we were expected to fight, so be ready for those options for every encounter.
One of the most fun scenarios I've played in Season 1!
Urwal is complete death as a character. Any time a character shows up and all of his words require a critical poetry analysis I am going to just check right out and so did literally every player who encountered this.
The lead NPC was a big geek and if you treat her as such you literally lose money.
And this whole idea of having a follow up for Breath of the Dragonskull only to not develop the ideas further is criminal.
But the actual set pieces involved with the three fights and the building up to the main fight with its alternate win conditions were cool.
A great scenario that sets a good atmosphere. Nice creepy elements that convey the "wrongness" well. I'm also a big fan of the humour injected in this scenario, but it nearly overdoes it. We all had a few good laughs here and there, and it was great.
Combat-wise, I can't really judge. We had a level 3 with three level 1s, so that skewed things to the easier side. I can see things going wrong, however, especially after a failed save or two.
The creative final fight felt great. There are truly several ways to solve this, which is great. I'm slightly miffed that you only get full treasure if you do the nonviolent route, though. I know it promotes being kind, but I'd rather be penalised by missing normal checks, rather than by taking the "wrong" approach. Besides, if the dice fall bad on the "right" approach, you're still penalised anyway. I don't want bad party composition also be a factor in rewards. This doesn't impact my final score, just something I'd like to share with the devs.
Also, Jaldan is a great character. I'd love to see her return. I love her affection and enthusiasm.
Chronologically it's Scourge of the Farheavens > Breath of the Dragonskull > The Blooming Catastrophe. Of course, you don't actually need to play all/more than one of those to get a complete story and adventure, but if you've played the first two you'll bump into some old friends and familiar locales.
Been running/playing PFS for a few years now. This scenario is solidly in my top 5 after tonight. Really enjoyed the dialogue and references to locations. Combat was challenging (almost too much, but they managed). Looking forward to more from Mikhail. Keep it up!
leshy alliance becoming canon :3 We managed to distract leshy and shut down monolith. Though sadly we failed at checks to befriend the centaur shaman due to not having good skills for that particular camp encounter xD
I just ran this, this past sunday, aug 9. At the end of the scenario, it says that the Verdant wheel reputation given is 1. Is this correct, or should it say 2?
This was a lot of fun, and played out well! I liked that there were a lot of options for resolving the outcomes.
Regarding a flavor question on the chronicle sheet...:
I'm building a leshy sorcerer with the background provided in this adventure. I know the Abyssal influences tend more towards "demonic" but the unnatural feel of the monolith had me thinking more "aberrant," or at least that's how my GM ran it. How did others perceive this?
Really stupid question.. I just ran this and I want to rate it but I can't for the life of me see where I need to go to post a rating. sorry for the noob question but I'd like to start reviewing this more frequently..
