altogether a good set

4/5

as mentioned by Everrunner, there are a few disappointments.
I’d like to add the size of the big cats which are on the upper end of a medium figure.
The Tanuki is bulkier than the Tiger.

Not at all happy about the distribution of rarities: while having two skull poles and two anvils is nice, I have 11 large figures for the sale bin which is more than the last few sets.

A great set, but some things were a little disappointing

4/5

As a whole Jungle of Despair was pretty cool. I was particularly disappointed in the painting of all the Azata Wilder minis. The painting looked very amateurish, LOTS of chipping and many areas over/under painted. One of the Pixies were mounted sideways on the base, will be a huge pain to fix and the eye of a Nymph was painted on her chin, not a big deal but after seeing the Wilders these were just annoying.

Despite the few minis the rest of them were really nice. I really liked the Tanuki and River Drake, and the Chupacabra and Astradaemon were just simply amazing.

The Tiger look great and Will be nice to have. Looking foward for the rest of the set.

Look at the Paizo Blog. It has pictures of the upcoming miniatures. Click here for the Blog with the Tags selected. It will only display the Jungle of Dispair ones.

Thank you Oliver. I sure know about the blog as I eagerly await each monday blog. For the tiger it was an unreveled mini that I was happy to see.

Thanks!

Canadian case buyers beware, customs grabs you for another $50 gst tax.

I'll do what I can. These are still a few months away, so I haven't even seen physical versions yet.

They seem to focus on toys made in China lately... I used to combine all my orders in one monthly shipment, now I make all mini purchases separate from my subscriptions... any minis in my order ends up stalling the delivery and results in the carrier to just leave a note at my door for me to go pay duty at the post office. The added waste of time adds insult to injury.

For case I buy trough my flgs(canada). The total cost is a bit less than when I order it (order+shiping+custom).

For individual minis, I tend to limit my order just shy of 100$ mark as they seem to ignore less than 100$ packages fot custom tax. Maybe it cost more to process these than it pay in tax.

Also I noticed they fully tax books even if they aren't supposed to. There is a way to appeal for a wrong tax fee but I suppose it's not worth the time and efforts it takes.

Regarding Canadian duties, you might want to read this thread.

I'd like to st art a subscription but it wants me to start with maze of death which I already have and won't give me the option to start with this set.

Still trying to start a subscription with jungle of despair and your system won't let me is there any way I can get some help?

Make a thread about your issue in the Customer Service forum.

My guess is your problem is due to the fact that the subscription shipping window has opened but hasn't yet closed; during that time period, the "current" product often becomes unavailable to choose as the starting product of a subscription. The Customer Service people can certainly get it straightened out for you when they're back in the office for the work week, however.

thank you, that was apparently exactly what the issue was. all good now

We did our local sealed case "draft" earlier today and everybody left happy, regardless if they only contributed $20 or $100! The new "sticks" for flying/elevated creatures are a big improvement over previous sets - they are more pleasing to the eye and appear to be more stable, as well! This was our first-ever sealed case "draft" since all the way back to Rise of the Runelords that we had zero minis broken/damaged prior to (or during) unboxing!

One question related to that, though - the Astradaemon (my favorite and sadly one I didn't "win" in our drafting) came with a head that appeared to be removable. Because of how it seemed to almost lock in place, that appeared to be intentional, but as I couldn't find anything on the forums about that, I wanted to inquire here and see if anyone else had the same thing in their cases?

Thanks in advance!

I think yours just missed getting secured at the factory.

Fair enough, and if that's the "worst" thing that happened from out entire case? I call that a huge win! Thanks very much, Vic!
