So, I wish I subscribed earlier - I waited because I wanted to support my FLGS and I wish that was possible with a subscription but I totally get why they can't offer this through the retain stores so, instead, I've found other ways of supporting my local shop by running games. Unsubscribing and Resubscribing to skip a product is as easy as an email - no hassle, no worry. If you're going to buy multiple subscriptions to get the APs and the companions and the so on, it's totally worth it and the discount and PDF covers shipping. If I was just considering one subscription, I'd probably buy it at my FLGS. Very pleased with the products and the product line.

Pathfinder is amazing

I have found that I can click the "shipping" button during the checkout process and toggle the "ship now" and "ship with my next subscription (sidecart it)" options.

This is the part I don't think I was seeing. The only button was on the sidecart, and clicking it didn't seem to change anything. This was on a mobile browser though - I might try on a PC and see if that makes a difference.

Okay, trying on Chrome, I can switch between shipping options. Must be a phone/my particular phone browser thing.

If two books release at the same time, do i pay both cover prices?

If it says both will be shipped then yes.

So I'm thinking of subscribing for the Remaster because I really want the hardcovers and I've heard subscribers can get the PDFs early when their hard copy ships. I don't want to subscribe just yet though as I already have Treasure Vault and Rage of Elements PDFs. My question is, how soon before release do new books tend to be options for New Subscribers to start their subscriptions there?

Player Core is scheduled for an early November release. There's a link at the bottom of the page called 'Release Schedule' that will let you see the most recent releases and the next few months' expectations.

"How soon" is hard to predict, but there are several things you can do:
a) Keep checking back on this page to see when the options change.

b) Subsribe right now and immediately send an email to Customer Service (customer.service@paizo.com) asking that your subscription start with the release of Player Core.

c) Keep checking back on this thread to see if a marketing person responds with more up-to-date information.

If I start a new subscription with, say, the GM Core, will the subscription also include the Player Core? Or do I need to order a Player Core individually?

Going by the order in which they're listed, I suspect if you want both you should start your sub with the Player Core.

I had this same question when switching to the special edition sub, and Customer Service added the GM Core book to my sidecart.

I think if you want both, you may need to reach out to CS.

If someone would be so kind...how does the sub work? Do you pay the cover price for all the rulebooks? Do you get all three PDFs with your sub?

Edit: Apparently, I should have looked more. Others had the same question. I want all three Remaster books. What does that entail?

If you subscribe now, you can opt to start with Player Core. If you do you'll get Player and GM Core this month, and Monster Core when it releases in spring and Player Core 2 in Summer.

Pathfinder LO Special Edition, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, PF Special Edition Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

There are four (times four for sixteen) Remaster books: Player Core, GM Core, Monster Core, and Player Core 2. Each book has four versions: the basic book, the Special Edition, the Special Cover, and the pocket edition.

The basic book is available from the Pathfinder Rulebooks subscription. The Special Edition is available from the Special Edition Rulebooks subscription. The Special Cover (Wayne Reynolds' pencil sketches of the regular edition covers) is available only from your local FLGS as long as supplies last (and must be ordered from the FLGS, not from Paizo). The pocket editions are special order items, the first two are due out in about three months, and if you special order now they'll be put in your Sidecart to be charged and shipped in three months when they're available.

Between them, Player Core and Player Core 2 cover 16 of the current 23 (plus two more coming next summer) classes. The 16 are from the original Core Rulebook and Advanced Players Guide. The other seven are from later books, and Paizo has announced no plans to remaster them (though we can probably expect some errata at some point).

Caveat: I'm not sure if the Monster Core and Player Core 2 will have Special Cover editions, so maybe there's only fourteen books. :-)

Caveat 2: I don't work for Paizo, so the above should not be considered "official".

You get the PDF when your package ships... which COULD mean you get the PDF early. It could be closer to the street date. Once (and only once), I didn't get my PDF until after the street date because they were behind on shipping (this was a one-off).

So the real benefit is having the PDF as well, but I wouldn't count on getting it *early*.

If I start my subscription now, is there any way to get both the Player and GM Core books?

Yes.

Start your subscription, then send an email to
customer.service@paizo.com
to let them know you want both books.

So I started my subscription after the PDF's for Player Core 1 was going out, starting it with Rage of Elements. I've gotten Rage of Elements, but there's no sign of my getting either Player Core 1 or GM Core. I sent an email to the customer service account, but haven't gotten a response. I assume things are just backlogged with holidays and such, but I'd like to know for sure. Any help?

Followup to this, sort of. Got my books a week or so ago, so thanks you for that. After having read via the PDF, I was paging through my physical Player Core today, and saw some damage in the middle of one page that confused me. On page 97 (where the Bard Spells per day are), right on the 5th rank level 17 "3" that I'm assuming should be there, is a hole. The paper is ripped, looking like someone dropped a big pile on a corner of a table or something. That same page has some discoloration next to the binding. The rip goes through to page 99 slightly, making a divot I can feel but not see in the Key terms binding sidebar.

It's certainly not a big deal. Just something that might want to be passed through to printing houses and such as a "hey, may want to make sure you're not doing this".

Frankly I'd ask Paizo to replace that book.

Send email to customer service with photo. These things happens from time to time, in ALL printers. I once got a book that have a bunch of pages in double. xD I was putting stress on the rest of the book/pages, and it was all distorted. They replaced it.

You can't ever have a 100% perfect mass production. As long as they don't get a certain percentage of people sending mail like that, It's not worth it to contact the printer, it's easier to simply replace the product.

Any idea how soon the "start your subscription" will start allowing it to be the Monster Core book?

Has there been any talk of a Pocket Edition Subscription?

Due to space and transport issues larger volumes are gradually being weeded out of my collection.

I would be willing to pay for a Pocket Edition Subscription if it meant getting the .pdf when the 'full size' book released.

Pathfinder LO Special Edition, Maps, Pathfinder Accessories, PF Special Edition Subscriber; Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Starfinder Superscriber

I haven't heard anything about a pocket edition sub, but I have heard that the intent is that pocket editions will come out three months after the full size book release. So if they did attach a free pdf to a pocket edition sub, you wouldn't get it when the big book releases, but three months later when your pocket sub ships. Unless, of course, they change that policy, which seems unlikely.

I'm running out of room for books myself. I've been thinking about cancelling all my book subs (or maybe all my subs) and just buying whatever pdfs are available on the first of each month. I don't really want to do it though; I like having a book in my hand.

I'm in a similar boat, but having the material via .pdf is very difficult for me to read and I can't afford to print out the entire .pdf in terms of space, time, or finances. The pocket edition is much easier to read and carry.

I find just about everything hard to read on a cell phone. I can usually read whatever on an ipad okay. On a computer with a decent monitor, no problem. As for the pocket edition I find it depends. I was trying to read the pocket Starfinder Core Rulebook the other day, and the color scheme was driving me nuts. OTOH, I don't have much of a problem with the new PC Core and GM Core books.

How soon can I expect my subscription to be processed? Is it before the release date?

Thanks!

Hi. I placed an order on October 16th for a subscription starting with War of Immortals, among other physical items (RoE and the Harrow Deck specifically).

I don't expect to skip the line as I am a late-comer, but I haven't been charged yet, and I am worried that there won't be enough money in the account when I am.

If this does happen, does my order go unfulfilled? Am I asked to provide a different payment method? Does it ask for confirmation once the order ready to ship?

I understand how busy of a time this is, so I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this.

Something weird seems to be happening with the War of Immortals subscription.

I got my email October 10 saying shipping in 10 - 14 days.

Visa hold was placed the same day. October 22 the Visa hold was released with the funds not being deducted. The order still shows as pending. Wonder if they needed to do another print run? Could be impacting you too whatever it is.

I emailed support but no response yet.

Every subscriber got that email on October 10th. Don't pay any attention to Visa holds -- they're just checking to make sure your payment method is valid. They'll do it again when your order comes up in the shipping queue. Hold was issued for me on the 22nd, the actual ship date was yesterday. Since today is the last day, theoretically, I'd say if you don't get your shipping notice today, fire off another message to CS on Monday (you can do it earlier, but they're closed on weekends, so they won't see it).

So just an update on this in case anyone was curious, the book shipped out 2 weeks ago, so it looks like they process subscriptions at the beginning of every month.
