No worries, Joan

I received #143 already, so please continue with #144. If you can put #144, #145, and #146 together, that would be ideal.

Thanks!

Hello,

Looks like my next order (#146) will be shipping shortly.

Is it possible to include #144 and #145 with this shipment?

If there is a reason that the subscription has not sent the last two items, please let me know how to correct this.

Thanks!

With GenCon and all, I'm going to bump this.

Side note, if possible to send both #145 and #145 at the same time, I have no issue with that.

Hello,

I was wondering when to expect the next volumes of my AP subscription. My last order (Order 7854261) was for volume #143, but the page says the next to ship will be #146.

How can I get #144 and #145? It seems to have skipped on me.

Thanks!

Todd

Hello,

I'm in the process of "catching up" on some of the PDFs I've missed. And, well, my shopping cart isn't big enough.

I want to try and utilize the holiday code to the best of my ability. Does this expire on January 31st at 11:59 PM PT? I'm trying to finish off the adventure paths and was hoping I could also get AP 126.

And do I have to wait until I'm closer to submitting my order to increase the shopping cart?

Thanks!

Todd

PS: Any chance of a PDF only subscription?

Messed around with an idea similar to this. Start the players off as "kids" with average ability scores and one good one. Then they choose which class they want to be "when they grow up". Separate out the the abilities and work through it.

Yours would be slightly different as you "gain" an ability as you go. Basically run into the situation and add the multipliers behind the screen saying "you thought that was easy/tough" depending on how far they succeed/fail. Keep them guessing.

General Rules:

  • Abilities: All scores are 8.
  • HP: Start at CON and then add 1/6th for each year completed.
  • Feat: 5th Year
  • Skills: 1 per year, starting at the beginning of Third Year, unless they have more than 6, then add 1 to each year (starting with the lowest).
  • Class Abilities/Features: 1 per year unless they have more than 6, then add 1 to each year (starting with the lowest).
  • Armor Proficiency: Cloth, Leather, Hide, Chainmail, Scale, Plate (in order). Offered on the year, but can be taken at any time after the assigned year.
  • Shield Proficiency: Light (3rd), Heavy (6th), can be taken at any time after the assigned year.
  • Class: Chosen at the end of the First Year.
  • Weapon Proficiency: 1-2 Simple, 3-4, Martial, 5-6 Superior (must take Feat if required).
  • Stat Boost: Given the number of points at the beginning of the year.
  • Spellcasting: 0 level spells are learned in the Third Year. The remaining spells are spread out over the remaining years. Prepared spells are equal to the base number and improve based on the primary Ability Score.
  • Movement is reduced by 5’ and increased to normal after the 4th year.
  • Size: All characters are considered size Small until the end of their 3rd year, then they take on their normal size category.

I made a mistake with the order I just placed. I accidentally included
"Pathfinder Adventure Path: Jade Regent Interactive Maps PDF" from my sidecart when I meant to add "Pathfinder Adventure Path: Skull & Shackles Interactive Maps PDF"

I had already purchased the Jade Regent maps in order 2248194. Would it be possible to "swap out" the purchase in 2598738 for the Skulls & Shackles?

Thanks for your help!

Todd

I've been tossing around ideas for a "Kid's Game" for some time. and thought I would source the world for some ideas, tips and thoughts.

My system of choice is 4e, but it can work for pretty much any game system. In a nutshell, the players go to an "Adventurer's College" where they learn to become, well, adventurers. They start off with 1/6th of their HP (maybe add CON for subdual damage to help out) and race abilities (only, they are untrained at best), a randomly determined stereotype (ex, "Popular Kid", "Loner", etc) and no class is established. They learn to develop their skills and abilities, the decisions they make help determine their class choice.

Our group has done this a couple of times before with great success (two of our favorite games to date)! My group is pretty old school and needs help breaking out of bad habits (see the first Lesson below). I figure the "Lessons" can help with this. I would also like to incorporate this into a long term AP or homebrew adventure to get the players interested in the setting.

As you can see, below, I have a few options that I am fleshing out. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on what Lessons and Adventure Ideas everyone has. If you're interested in posting some ideas, feel free!

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Lessons

  • Retreat - How and when to retreat
  • Aid Another
  • Flanking
  • Initiative - The best to use initiative to your advantage
  • Total Defense
  • Movement - Strategic movement while in combat
  • Healing and Dying - Each kid is given a ring while in classes. Minor enchantment that stablizes the person wearing it just before dying. Only can only be used within 20' of a healer with the master ring.
  • Seeing & Targeting and Cover & Concealment
  • Special Actions (Grab, Bull Rush, etc)

Adventure Ideas

  • Zombie Kids - An illusionist makes zombie versions of the kids and forces them to survive while holding out in their bunks.
  • Wrongly Expelled - a schoolmate is blamed for a "crime" committed by someone else. Seek to clear their name.
  • Dark Summoning - A student accidentally, or on purpose, summons a demon (something small). Figure out who did it and remove the demon.
  • Relay race - Have a relay race (skill challenge) that is like a triathalon. Have a "weaker kid" be overcome by an obstacle (ex, hurt, drowning, etc). Use Wii Sports Resort and other games for ideas.
  • A little crush - A student has a crush on one of the characters. If let down, the student becomes jilted and wants revenge. If approved, the student becomes obsessive. One of the attendees from a lower class becomes obsessed with one of the characters that proves fatal or becomes a possible villain later on.
  • Camping Trip - The students are left to fend for themselves for a few days (lost on a field trip, or supervised by the teachers) and see how they do. Random nightly encounters.
  • Timmy's Missing - Students hear noises and find out there is a break in and a child abducted.
  • Lost - Students get left behind or turned around. Find your way back home.
  • Finder's Keepers - One of the students found an item. What do they do with it?
  • Royal Rumble - Exercise in team building. Based on the WWF "tourney" where a few start in the ring and must throw others out of the ring to disqualify them. Add additional entrants over time. Be the last to "survive."
  • The Bogey Man - A malicious entity huants the students over time (progressively worse).
  • Druid's domain - Have small woodland creatures attack the students. PCs must find out the reason why. The Druid is upset about the people being there and wants them to leave. If they can convince him they mean no harm and/or have him "work" for the school, major brownie points!
  • Lord Amoung Us - Students find out that one of the students is a high noble. How do they react?
  • Prom / Graduation Trouble - Throw the event as it should be, but have expelled students or trouble makers attempt to ruin the event.
  • How's Your Luck? - A gypsy band travels through the area. Possible fortune telling and maybe a curse.
  • Food Fight - A school cafeteria tussle involving food and chairs. Possibly using the WotC Inn Fighting game?
  • Shields - A scene from the movie "Outlander" where a makeshift "floor" is made from shields and the student must fight another on the unstable surface, skill challenge.
  • Ambassadors - A group of ambassadors from another area show up at the school for a week.
  • Tooth Fairy - a half orc child still believes in the tooth fairy. However, this fairy is out for souls. Takes the souls of others and traps them in a tooth. Find the fairy and destroy the teeth to reclaim their souls.
  • Lost Soul - The PCs are involved in trying to find a child that is lost. For future encounters, this student is never found and reappears as a ghost looking to find his way home.
  • Wishing Well - An old abandoned well is found by one of the underclass students. Students go to see the well and someone makes a wish. A small demon grants the wish, but at a price.
  • Challenge Games - Have challenges like the Most Extreme Elimination Challenges or American Gladiators
  • Race you to the top! - Climb a pyramid and hope that you don't get knocked off
  • Dorm modifications - Enhance the dorm as the players see fit. Could have a basement created for unknown purposes.

The majority are bagged, and I have the cards around here somewhere. I'll figure out a sorting solution and go from there.

Would it be better to email a set or two at a time?

Thanks again!

Todd

Much appreciated!

After spending a couple of hours sorting miniatures, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

Are there any types of minis that you do not want? For example, do you need the cards? Unbagged?

I have 5 and a half paper boxes filled to the brim, spanning over 14 different sets. I'd like to focus my efforts sorting where they are needed.

Feel free to send an email to the account on file if you prefer.

Thanks!

Todd

Are you still taking D&D Mini singles? At one time, you had a spreadsheet and instructions, but I can't seem to find them.

If you are still accepting them, I would be willing to sell my "stash."

Thanks

Todd

I'll admit, I haven't read the thread, but what about this? Fight example

In my opinion, it's a pair of bucklers that can be used for bludgeoning attacks. Maybe add a +1 to your normal strength damage. You could put a blade at the end for a pierce. Definitely a Monk weapon, IMHO.

EDIT: Better example

The PG version of the real thing. I'd say it'd be multiple attempts breaking vs bone, but penalized as if they're pinned. From the video (either version), there was a bit of pain and then the break.

Maybe this will help. This is based on my memory of movement. The color guide is on the right, in 5' increments. Any color below, and including, is part of the cone.

Jeraa wrote:
Except for the one he needs - a 20' cone.

True. In that case, I'd use the 20' Radius template and cut off one quarter.

If carrying a backpack, one hip quiver (right side if right handed to avoid getting "tangled" in the bow). If no backpack, one on the back and one on the hip.

Of course, the backpack can easily carry 3 or 4 more by strapping them onto the pack. However, the arrows will need to be contained (a lid) or bound together (string around the arrows) to avoid losing them. I'd say that it takes a Move action to get the stored arrows ready.

Just my 2 cp.

Try Magnificent Egos.

Alternity (Never got a fair shake, this one)

+1, and DarkMatter of course!

RuneQuest Deluxe Edition

Not an RPG, but Silent Death.

If this helps:

Red Sonja

Fighter: 11
Strength: 14
Intelligence: 17
Wisdom: 10
Dexterity: 17
Constitution: 11
Charisma: 18
Hit Points: 75

Sonja is surprised only on a 1 in 1d6.
Equipment: broadsword, dagger, leather armor

Stats are based of the AD&D 1e rules (1986) for RS1 Red Sonja Unconquered. PC pre-gen.

Previous link was for "Dragon", not "Dungeon". So, this is a better resource.

Anybody good with cartography? it might be fun to have a map.

No, but if you use Inkscape, you don't have to be.

This should help in your search as well. Type in "Dungeon magazine index" in Google and you may find others.

Vic Wertz wrote:

The problem is uniformly fitting all of the stats onto a card. Some of the creatures in the Bestiary have stats that take up more than an 8.5x11 page!

How about Jumbo Playing Card size?

It may require a little modification to the stat block, but so long as you have the reference and page number at the bottom, shouldn't be much of an issue.

Ross, Digitalelf is on track to my original thought. I didn't see the additional sale of the signed core rulebooks. But DE does bring up another good point of price. The $150 price point is still pretty high.

John, yes, this is also true. Sadly, the extra "incentive" helps the donation process. It helps bring out the "warm fuzzy" in people.

Again, don't get me wrong. Any help is appreciated by those in need and I'm not trying to undermine what Paizo is doing. That fact that they are doing it is great!

I mean this as no offense. However, I think that while this is a good idea, I believe that there are better ways of fund raising.

I really like the way that DriveThruRPG does their $10/$20 PDF kits. I'm also a fan of the "Pay full price, but we give XX% to charity" so long as you give advance notice. Or, the "give $10 to help out" button. Auctions only give a few people the chance to do good. The other people bidding could do much greater good that way. How much would have been raised if everyone that bid would have had a contribution?

Again, when it comes to charity, any amount helps!

This tutorial may help.

I like it, but I think the Rug is too easy. If there are multiple opponents on the rug, I think the DC should be higher (+2 per creature above 1).

Otherwise, good article!

Hmmm, it's Savage Pumpkin. I wondered when Helloween put out their new album if they were Paizo fans....

I don't think this helps. I can't remember the Dungeon numbers for STAP. But, just in case it does.

Good Luck!

I am a little annoyed at its lack of an object library though. Perhaps I just have not found it yet.

Edit: Oh, nevermind.

Edit 2: Except that's not actually part of the program? O_o

Inkscape is only on 0.48.1 (not a full "1.0" product), so it's far from a completed program. Also, it is an imaging program as opposed to a mapping program. With that in mind, using creative ways around the issue are sometimes necessary.

An option for you would be to create the images as part of another file and then import them into a new layer. For example, if you have typical dungeon dressings, you can save them to a "Dungeon" file and then import it into a "Dressing" layer above the "Floor" layer. Then you can make it invisible when you aren't using it. Sure, it's a work around instead of functionality.

Seriously though I have looked at a few map programs and haven't liked a lot of what I've seen. This looks more similar to the tools I have used and been able to create something that didn't look like a child created it with crayons.

IMHO, Inkscape isn't any different than ProFantasy Campaign Cartographer or NBOS Fractal Mapper (they are all vector programs). Sure those have more tools and icons, but you can always build your own or import images.

And the price of free can't be beat!

I've only tinkered with it, nothing too difficult. I've recently picked it back up again when I tried one of those "How to draw Anime" books using Inkscape. Came out pretty well.

I've been reading the tutorials (here, here, and here).

A definate must look for those that are artistically challenged (like me)!

I've always enjoyed Inkscape for making maps. If you make a mistake or want to move something, it's easy to modify.

Ain't no hole in the wasthub!

I like the idea! I'm playing in a Bard's game (4th Dwarf Bard, 3rd Fighter/1st Bard Elf, and 3rd Rogue/1st Bard Gnome), but we haven't figured out a name yet. Picked out spells that could be used for the performances (pyro, illusions, etc).

Of course, we'll have to have our (cara-)van. Possibly painted up with an acountant on the side!

Sorry Cosmo, I have to cancel more : (

Please cancel all subscriptions. I've decided to go the PDF route on all items.

Thanks for your help!

Good thing you guys are on top of this, I totally missed it ; )

Thanks,

Wouldn't this be after the

"Pathfinder Campaign Setting: World Guide—The Inner Sea (PFRPG) Hardcover will ship with a future Pathfinder Adventure Path volume"

I still would like the World Guide, which is scheduled to go out soon.

Thanks for your help!

Please cancel the following subscriptions effective immediately:

Pathfinder Companion
Pathfinder Module
Gamemastery Cards

Please cancel the Pathfinder Adventure Path AFTER Pathfinder #36. I would like to finish off the Kingmaker AP in hardcover.

I would also like to cancel the below after the next shipment. Should I wait and take care of this later?

Pathfinder Chronicles

Thanks in advance! I've enjoyed my subscriptions, just trying to cut back.

This brings up a question I've had in my mind. I just finished off my last campaign and now plan to start Age of Worms later this summer. I expect to have 4 characters regularly, a 5th off-and-on and a 6th later on, possibly in the new year. How should I handle XP? Will 5 or 6 characters split up the XP too much so that they can't progress fast enough to stay on the path?

First, I'd like to say that I've never DMed. That being said, adding another PC or, especially, two "throws off" the balance of power. The more people you have for an encounter set for 4 players, the easier it will be combat wise. You may want to consider adding another NPC here and there to bring things back around. The DMG should point you in the right direction.

If I remember correctly, Paizo APs seem to be a bit more geared for 5 players, but I don't remember where I saw this.

There is a fan supported PF extention for Fantasy Grounds. Paizo said they wouldn't officially go with FG due to lack of Mac support (although, it can be used with WINE).
