The links do not work on the following page:

"Get Latest Adventure Path"
"First Edition Adventure Paths"
"Wardens of Wildwood" through "Blood Lords"

It seems that an element below is overlapping.

Thanks!

Hello,

I was wondering when to expect the next volumes of my AP subscription. My last order (Order 7854261) was for volume #143, but the page says the next to ship will be #146.

How can I get #144 and #145? It seems to have skipped on me.

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm in the process of "catching up" on some of the PDFs I've missed. And, well, my shopping cart isn't big enough.

I want to try and utilize the holiday code to the best of my ability. Does this expire on January 31st at 11:59 PM PT? I'm trying to finish off the adventure paths and was hoping I could also get AP 126.

And do I have to wait until I'm closer to submitting my order to increase the shopping cart?

Thanks!

Todd

PS: Any chance of a PDF only subscription?

Pathfinder Starfinder Society Subscriber

I made a mistake with the order I just placed. I accidentally included
"Pathfinder Adventure Path: Jade Regent Interactive Maps PDF" from my sidecart when I meant to add "Pathfinder Adventure Path: Skull & Shackles Interactive Maps PDF"

I had already purchased the Jade Regent maps in order 2248194. Would it be possible to "swap out" the purchase in 2598738 for the Skulls & Shackles?

Thanks for your help!

I've been tossing around ideas for a "Kid's Game" for some time. and thought I would source the world for some ideas, tips and thoughts.

My system of choice is 4e, but it can work for pretty much any game system. In a nutshell, the players go to an "Adventurer's College" where they learn to become, well, adventurers. They start off with 1/6th of their HP (maybe add CON for subdual damage to help out) and race abilities (only, they are untrained at best), a randomly determined stereotype (ex, "Popular Kid", "Loner", etc) and no class is established. They learn to develop their skills and abilities, the decisions they make help determine their class choice.

Our group has done this a couple of times before with great success (two of our favorite games to date)! My group is pretty old school and needs help breaking out of bad habits (see the first Lesson below). I figure the "Lessons" can help with this. I would also like to incorporate this into a long term AP or homebrew adventure to get the players interested in the setting.

As you can see, below, I have a few options that I am fleshing out. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on what Lessons and Adventure Ideas everyone has. If you're interested in posting some ideas, feel free!

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Lessons

  • Retreat - How and when to retreat
  • Aid Another
  • Flanking
  • Initiative - The best to use initiative to your advantage
  • Total Defense
  • Movement - Strategic movement while in combat
  • Healing and Dying - Each kid is given a ring while in classes. Minor enchantment that stablizes the person wearing it just before dying. Only can only be used within 20' of a healer with the master ring.
  • Seeing & Targeting and Cover & Concealment
  • Special Actions (Grab, Bull Rush, etc)

Adventure Ideas

  • Zombie Kids - An illusionist makes zombie versions of the kids and forces them to survive while holding out in their bunks.
  • Wrongly Expelled - a schoolmate is blamed for a "crime" committed by someone else. Seek to clear their name.
  • Dark Summoning - A student accidentally, or on purpose, summons a demon (something small). Figure out who did it and remove the demon.
  • Relay race - Have a relay race (skill challenge) that is like a triathalon. Have a "weaker kid" be overcome by an obstacle (ex, hurt, drowning, etc). Use Wii Sports Resort and other games for ideas.
  • A little crush - A student has a crush on one of the characters. If let down, the student becomes jilted and wants revenge. If approved, the student becomes obsessive. One of the attendees from a lower class becomes obsessed with one of the characters that proves fatal or becomes a possible villain later on.
  • Camping Trip - The students are left to fend for themselves for a few days (lost on a field trip, or supervised by the teachers) and see how they do. Random nightly encounters.
  • Timmy's Missing - Students hear noises and find out there is a break in and a child abducted.
  • Lost - Students get left behind or turned around. Find your way back home.
  • Finder's Keepers - One of the students found an item. What do they do with it?
  • Royal Rumble - Exercise in team building. Based on the WWF "tourney" where a few start in the ring and must throw others out of the ring to disqualify them. Add additional entrants over time. Be the last to "survive."
  • The Bogey Man - A malicious entity huants the students over time (progressively worse).
  • Druid's domain - Have small woodland creatures attack the students. PCs must find out the reason why. The Druid is upset about the people being there and wants them to leave. If they can convince him they mean no harm and/or have him "work" for the school, major brownie points!
  • Lord Amoung Us - Students find out that one of the students is a high noble. How do they react?
  • Prom / Graduation Trouble - Throw the event as it should be, but have expelled students or trouble makers attempt to ruin the event.
  • How's Your Luck? - A gypsy band travels through the area. Possible fortune telling and maybe a curse.
  • Food Fight - A school cafeteria tussle involving food and chairs. Possibly using the WotC Inn Fighting game?
  • Shields - A scene from the movie "Outlander" where a makeshift "floor" is made from shields and the student must fight another on the unstable surface, skill challenge.
  • Ambassadors - A group of ambassadors from another area show up at the school for a week.
  • Tooth Fairy - a half orc child still believes in the tooth fairy. However, this fairy is out for souls. Takes the souls of others and traps them in a tooth. Find the fairy and destroy the teeth to reclaim their souls.
  • Lost Soul - The PCs are involved in trying to find a child that is lost. For future encounters, this student is never found and reappears as a ghost looking to find his way home.
  • Wishing Well - An old abandoned well is found by one of the underclass students. Students go to see the well and someone makes a wish. A small demon grants the wish, but at a price.
  • Challenge Games - Have challenges like the Most Extreme Elimination Challenges or American Gladiators
  • Race you to the top! - Climb a pyramid and hope that you don't get knocked off
  • Dorm modifications - Enhance the dorm as the players see fit. Could have a basement created for unknown purposes.

Are you still taking D&D Mini singles? At one time, you had a spreadsheet and instructions, but I can't seem to find them.

If you are still accepting them, I would be willing to sell my "stash."

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I thought here would be the best place.

Problem:
I have no idea how to write an effective story, but want to become a DM. What are the best resources out there for ideas on Stories, Plots, Subplots, Twists, Conflicts, and all things story related?

The majority of the G/DMGs out there tell you how to build an encounter, but not how to get the PCs there. I've seen a few glimmers of hope, but they're a bit like an overview for what I want.

Any resources (online or dead tree) that you can suggest? How about game books (as they tend to relate to the subject I'm interested in)?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

I wanted to ensure that this hits the appropriate audience.

I've been toying with the idea of creating a Play by Post Forum for some time. However, not being a regular player, I only have a faint idea of what to include. I'm looking for ideas of what to include and will work on this in my spare time.

So, here's what I'm looking for: A central location that will allow gamemasters and players a rich user experience capable of handling content and fun for the purpose of system specific and generic Play by Post internet games.

The forum is more focused on adding more game specific information into the experience. Some features include:

  • Multiple characters per user account.
  • Multiple aliases per character
  • Generalized posting area with an "Action" area that will show actions taken by the user
  • Stored die rolls
  • Time based tracking
  • Open posting and Initiative based posting
  • Personalized Avatars
  • Online maps with the ability to "map out" actions
  • Ability to use different fantasy languages
  • Character status and conditions
  • Turn notifications

I'm interested in hearing what other people would like to see out of this. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome, including your takes on the items above (described below).

If there is enough of a need for this, I'd be interested in spending additional time to make this become a reality.

Thanks in advance, and enjoy!

=========================================================

A more detailed rundown of the above items.

Multiple characters per user account - A person signs up for an account and can create multiple characters. When submitting a post, they are able to choose the name of the character. There will be a restriction that the character must be involved in the game to be used for posting.

Multiple aliases per character - GMs and players can post as different character names for whatever purpose. For example, a villain is masquerading as a beggar. The beggar's name will show instead of the villain. Anything that happens to the beggar also happens to the villain.

Generalized posting area with an "Action" area that will show actions taken by the user - Forums have an area for posting descriptions of what is happening. This area would have supplemental information that relates game terms to those viewing. As an example, in the d20 system, an attack action would look something like "[Player 1] attacks [Villain] [roll] and hits for [XX] damage. The normal posting area is not affected by this section.

Stored die rolls - Upon submission of a post, the die rolls are saved. The results are randomly generated. This frees up the GM and Players from having to post results.

Time based tracking - GMs are responsible for updating the time in the game. When a game is set up, a date and time is determined by the GM. The GM can progress the time in seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, or years with a simple action. When in combat, the system would automatically adjust time as needed. Actions of players may also add to the time (ex, taking 20 on a search, brewing a potion, etc).

Open posting and Initiative based posting - The GM can control how posting is processed. In times where there isn't an emphasis on "time" ("open posting"), posting can be done at any time by anyone. If there is a need to keep track of who goes, "initiative-based" posting takes over. The current and next characters in the initiative will be visible in the post title and on the page. A person cannot post out of turn in "initiative-based" posting. The GM can institute a "time limit" that will skip over people that do not post within the time frame (ex, 5 seconds, 3 days, or even 2 years). Depending on the option used, the player may be able to post as if he was using a "held action".

Personalized Avatars - Each alias has a picture available for viewing. This way the Beggar and Villain don't have the same visage.

Online maps with the ability to "map out" actions - Map fields with a background of the area are scaled for players to map out their actions.

Ability to use different fantasy languages - If a language is posted that a character doesn't understand, the post will reflect in the same way (random characters). Those that have the language will read it as normal.

Character status and conditions - As with normal forums, there is usually a location below the poster's name that has information about the posting person. This area will be used to show the character's statuses and conditions (ex, HP, Bloodied, Prone, etc).

Turn notifications - As described above, users can see who's turn it is with a quick glance at the thread.

With the fire issue with Q-workshop, I was wondering if my order can be split to receive all items except the Second Darkness Dice Set. I can create a new order with just that item.

If the any other items are unavailable, let me know and I'll deal with those as needed.

Finally, can this be bundled with my Pathfinder Subscription setting?

I know, I'm a pain in the posterior end ; )

Much appreciated!

It looks like there's going to be quite a bit of April shipping. From what I see, 3 PFAP, 3 PF Chronicles, 1 PF Module, and 2 PF Companion.

I would prefer to reduce the shipping charges, which I already have optimized with the "Ship with my PFAP" but I'd rather get them all in one box.

Should I change my settings to go Monthly when April hits, or are you planning on doing something different with the mailing?

I'm thinking of designing a PbP message board system as a way to "break into" GMing for my group (too many GMs right now).

I figure I can start out with a basic message board and then add features like a die roller that stores rolls, interactive maps, Character Builders (at least storing the basics), some kind of campaign manager (wiki and another?), and an option for character journals (blogs?).

What resources would you suggest to get the idea of how PbP works?
What features would be helpful to a GM?
What features would be helpful to a Player?

I've done Play by Chat before on the old days of AOL (TSR Era, which I tought worked well but scheduling was an issue) and one PbEmail but didn't care for the abstact nature of combat for the email game.

Pathfinder Starfinder Society Subscriber

I'm tossing around the idea of running the "Rise of the Runelords" AP with a "warmup" campaign where the characters go off to an "adventuring college" to learn the ropes. Think Hogwarts rip-off.

Basically, the characters are 0th level and stripped down to basic stats. They'll start out with a stereotype or two (fat kid, cool kid, gimpy, etc) to help develop personality and overcome adversity. As the 6 year college goes on, they gain Ability Score bumps, Skill Points, Feats, and Powers (yes, I'm converting it). They'll also learn their class features, gain Healing Surges, basically what makes them thier character at 1st level.

There will be mini-adventures along the way, "Skill tests" as exams at the end of the year (maybe even a midterm), some random events along the way, and an American Gladiators Eliminator tie in!).

Anyway, I'm trying to incorperate the 7 sins into the adventures and need some help coming up with some ideas of how to taunt/tempt them. This will give me a gauge of how the players would react for the AP when the time comes.

How would you incorperate the 7 sins? Also, how would you do the 7 virtues to even things out? There's plenty of options for both, just trying to get a bunch of ideas and mix them in.

Pathfinder Starfinder Society Subscriber

Ahh, yeah. Found it, the section on NPCs in Chapter 10. However, I think they're getting hosed on the Powers. Might not be a bad idea to pump them up to Elite or Solo.

Pathfinder Starfinder Society Subscriber

Thought I'd just throw this out there.

I've been creating the "GM Reference" (ex, here) posts for the Adventure Paths since PF#1. I create the posts and link to each successive module in the path. Each time I receive my email for shipment, I "bump" the thread to give it some visibility.

While I rarely go into the "Messageboard" link, I think it would be nice to have these types of references readily available, say by a sticky.

What would be even better if these were created when a new Adventure Path has all the titles available and bumped when a new product ships.

That would be really cool! : )

I think this is the best place to put it, since I'm not looking at a game system.

Anyway...

I'm in the process of creating a game and want to have a "random" feel to the land. I have the basic land masses created and I need to populate them with land forms. However, I don't know what kind of logic to use to create them.

Has anyone seen a sourcebook that tells how to create random land? Has suggestions for the probability of a land form being close to another?

I want to keep it "random" as the map is of considerable size (over 184,000 hexes, including 50% water).

Any help is appreciated!
