Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Hi, Everyone!

First off, apologies for leaving anyone in the lurch by my weeks-long absence. Unfortunately, it’s my turn for that “real life” stuff to get in the way of all my fun. *sigh*

Between the time spent on my studies and other commitments, I simply have neither the energy nor the wherewithal to carry on with role-playing. Sadly, this means that I have to take a hiatus from role-playing. A real shame, as it is one of my favorite pastimes. I sat down and had a good think about it, but this is for the best, as my studies have to come first.

Playing with everyone here has been a pleasure. I always enjoyed seeing how the stories we collaborated on in the RPG environment move along nicely. It has been a pleasure and an honor playing with everyone here. I wish I was able to continue, but it would be profoundly unfair to everyone else (players and GM) if I could only commit to a sporadic appearance at best.

As the Romans would say: “Valete!” (all of you be strong/be well/farewell)

--------------------

PS: @ brvheart free to bot Úrtnechech as you see fit until someone else can fill my shoes.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

@ Cayugo: thanks for that. I adjusted my post accordingly

Round 2

Úrtnechech moves 5 ft diagonally, toward Uthala, and attacks the Gnoll that just attacked him with is superior reach:

abnormal reach:
bloodline power, so he can be 5 ft away for both attacks

big chop (falcata), main hand: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 = 161d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 = 14
(rage, with arcane strike, crit: 19-20/×3, plus bless)

little chop (kukri), off hand: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 1 = 171d4 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9
(rage, with arcane strike, crit: 18-20/×2, plus bless)

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

First things first, Robert.

Hope all works out for you; sounds like you've got more than enough on your plate!

Things are going well at this end. I could've done without the torn knee ligament back in April, but that's mostly healed up.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Good to hear!

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Ouch! I know what those are like!

Take care of that first, for sure!

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Just don't get underfoot!
:D

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Before the fight got underway
Úrtnechech will draw his two blades (the falcata Big Chop, and the kukri Little Chop) and be ready to fight.

Round 1

Úrtnechech moves up to the nearest Gnoll and attacks wtih both blades:
Using abnormal reach bloodline power, so he can be 5 ft away for both attacks

big chop (falcata), main hand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
(rage, with arcane strike, crit: 19-20/×3)

little chop (kukri), off hand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
(rage, with arcane strike, crit: 18-20/×2)

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech will have a quick look around when they arrive in the desert to gets some idea of the lay of the land and to get his bearings based on the map...

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

"Maybe we should start there," he says pointing in the direction of "P" on the map...

"It's as good a place as any, I reckon"

I'm just assuming that's the closest feature of any interest as we enter from the South.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

me too, unless we get into a fight doing the shopping! :o

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech will carry any new gear Boram buys to the others...

"I'm not too thmart, but I can lift BIG thingth!" :o

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Apologies for my absence, everyone. Got totally wrapped up in my studies (including three midterm tests), and a couple of fiddly computer problems.

I should be good to go now...

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Not a problem, Boram.
Hope the job hunt goes well, then...

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"Sounds good, Boram."

Then after a slight pause:
"You do the talking and I'll stand behind you so there's no funny stuff."

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"Snakes are the nastiest thing we met here so far.
"But I'm sure we will meet worse before we're done."

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"What can you tell us about these parts, Wagir?
"You're about the only person we've seen 'round here."

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"I am feeling a bit thirsty, myself."

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech tries seeing if he recognizes what the giant is carrying

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11a big lumpy thing?!

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

I thought I posted yesterday. Oh well

Úrtnechech will ready his bow, and shouts: "Giant coming our way."

As he readies his bow, he walks over to Boram and gives him a nudge with is boot.
"Wake up, you! Otherwise the giant will scarf down your pies and ale!"

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

That is correct; got a result of 20 all told

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Is there a handy-dandy link?

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech remains alert, despite giving his blades a nice polish during his watch.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Hark! What yon nasty beasty approacheth?

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"The snake was tasty. Small snack for me, though."

Úrtnechech also helps set up the camp.

So far so good with Paizo the last couple of days

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Best wishes, Tobold!

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech will have a bit of roasted snake as a snack during his watch.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Round 1
Úrtnechech will attack the snake (if it's still alive):

big chop (falcata), main hand: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
(twf, no rage, with arcane strike, crit: 19-20/×3)

little chop (kukri), off hand: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
(twf, no rage, with arcane strike, crit: 18-20/×2)

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

And don't forget to factor in Murphy's Law, when the chances of failing your best skills is much, much higher when danger rears its ugly head!

Or something along those lines...

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

"HRMPH" Urt sort of says as he climbs out of his bedroll.
Grabbing his kukri, he looks around.
"Right, where's this snake at, then?"

"'ey! why ye drop dat dare? oi 'av me gear. that's de stuff de priests packed for us. oi don't even nu waaat so'tiz."

Putting down the rock he had picked up to put on the 'firering' he proceeds to his bedroll and pushes the extra contents off.
"Oi git galore av exercise, oi lift a couple av pint's every noight, whether oi nade ter or not."

"Welcome!" says with a snicker before hunting for dinner on the hoof.

Sure, normally hunting and foraging in pathfinder requires you move at half speed during the day but I am sure you can find some rabbits. Take off three arrows. You also see some tracks of some wild horses while you are out.

It is going to be chilly tonight, low of 36.

Úrtnechech returns from his brief hunting foray with some rabbits.

"Fresh grub! Who wants to cook these up to save on our rations?"

@ brvheart: didn't know about the half-speed hunting rule.
Will keep that in mind for future.
Arrows removed from supplies for Úrtnechech

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech will unsaddle Boram's mule and unceremoniously plop all of the halfling's gear by his bed roll.

"Not enough exercise, Boram. Cities do that." he tells the halfling in a matter of fact way.

Then he tends to his own mule, Patches, to make sure she's well tended.

Next, he puts his own gear in order for the night.

"Maybe some dinner `round here", he says to nobody in particular.
With that, he takes his longbow out to see if he can get some dinner on the hoof.
"Won't go far", he says before setting out to see if there is any fresh game nearby.

@ brvheart: can I use my last turn's survival roll for a bit of hunting, or should I roll for Survival again?

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"Sounds like cities I've not been to." Úrtnechech tells Boram.
But I'ms sure Urt has Boram beat in the 'thumping' department!

After stopping for the day, Úrtnechech will set about foraging for what scraps of food might be about, firewood, and all that:
survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

I was Only thinking in practical terms for Urt only with his acute darkvision.

But basically, anything is fine by me. Urt doesn't need to worry about this "thinking" and "concentrating" stuff, beyond thinking about how to thump bad-guys...

Boram the Burglar wrote:
His eye's watering, Boram shakes his head, "Only whaen oi leave de sweet smells av de city."

"Cities have sweet smells? Urt says, unsure if Boram is trying to tell a joke.

Big and strong; but a bit dim at times …

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

That sounds good to me too.

Since Úrtnechech has Acute Darkvision (to 90 ft), being on the late night watch is a good fir for him.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Looks good to me too.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26allergies? what are those?

Úrtnechech just shrugs at Boram's misfortune.
"Does that happen often?"

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

I'm ready for … whatever it is we're doing next

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Sorry for the delay; a bit of server problems at my end yesterday and this morning

==========< When Receiving Stuff from the Priests >==========
"Thanks. It will make the trip easier."

Then as he starts putting his gear on his mule, Úrtnechech starts talking to his new mule:
"Hmph. 'Mule' is a boring name. I'll call you 'Patches'. instead"

Once he has Patches loaded with his backpack and extra arrows, Úrtnechech will walk up in front, beside Bharaz.
He'll lead Patches with one hand and keep his longbow in the other, ready to to use at a moment's notice.

@ brvheart: I diceded to spend a little cash on Patches:
a pack saddle (5 gp) for carrying Úrtnechech's kit,
and a training harness (10 gp) to make him slightly easier to handle.
And 40 more arrows as well, since resupply of ammo might be difficult.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

And that's a good thing!
Don't want the healer going under!

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

True, but my idea is to maximize the number of critical hits because of his Staggering Strike ability.

And besides the Falcata is a dandy weapon for critical hits.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

"I'll give it a miss. How about a game of 'see if your breath burns'?
says Úrtnechech with a wink as he sips more of his pint mug full of rot-gut.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

I gave myself some options.

I took the Chain Fighter racial trait, the Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Falcata) feat, along with two-weapon fighting.

So, if he's fighting two-handed, it's either with a falcata and kukri, or else with a dire flail.

And he's got a bardiche, if he really, really, really needs a two-handed weapon.

We'll see how it turns out. Should be interesting with his long arms reach staggering strike abilities while raging.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Just for the fun of it, I decided to make Úrtnechech a two-weapon fighter instead of a two-handed fighter.
Should be interesting to see how he turns out.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

… earlier …
"I am Úrtnechech and I have magic in my blood when I fight.
"I have no idea where that came from, but was exiled for it.
"Now I want to prove myself as capable as any warrior."

The stocky half-orc then sips on a pint of local rot-gut between large mouthfuls of his copious meal as he watches Boram trying to play his game.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Úrtnechech would have joined the group just on the prospect of good (i.e. heroic) fights on offer.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Next part sounds good to me. All I remember about where we left of was big garden with a bunch of little nincompoops we were fighting...

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

I can see my name on the list, but it's still not showing up on my campaign list.
I'll just have to wait until those hidden campaigns start showing back up on my campaigns page.
Shouldn't have hidden those, I reckon.
Such is the perfect vision of hindsight! :P
During the meanwhilst, I'll need to keep checking my character posts to find my way here as easy as I can.
Anyway, I am here and ready to rock and roll sort of thing...

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Oh … bugger! (to quote the ever so sophisticated Edmund Blackadder)

I hid all my old campaigns in my campaign page. Which includes this one, sorry to say. Anyone know how to unhide them? Apart from waiting for them to reappear on one's campaign page?

In a pinch, I can just keep checking my posts for updates until those campaign lines start reappearing.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

Formally reporting in.
Avatar and profile ready to go; barring any errors

@ brvheart: is Úrtnechech registered as a character in this campaign?
Can't see it in my current campaign list.
I'll make a quick to make sure I didn't accidentally hide this.

Male Half-Orc Bloodrager (inactive)

dotty dotty, and rolling for HP before I mess about with anything else:

HP levels 2 to 5: 4d10 ⇒ (6, 7, 3, 5) = 21

That's not too bad, I guess. Only 1 HP below dead average.
